Weather in Early June - specifically rainfall!

We usually go in May, and never have had any significant rainfall on any of our trips. We don't mind the heat, and actually love it!

This year, we are going in early June.
Has anyone experienced significant rainfall on any of their early June trips? Was it just a brief afternoon shower, or did the rain last all day/evening. We are hoping we will get to enjoy the resort pool. TIA!

We have always experienced late afternoon rain in FL in June. It's pretty regular and generally passes in an hour or so.

2014 was our first early June trip and probably our wettest trip ever. There were a couple of days that it started raining in the early afternoon and rained all day! Weather is not predictable, but we are traveling in late May/early June this year and I'm going prepared for the rain.

Agreed with everyone else. Both times we've been in June and July there were fairly regular thunderstorms each afternoon for an hour or so. We brought ponchos and sandals and soldiered on through the rain!

Yikes! I don't mind rain one or two days (can hit the outlets to do some shopping), but sure hoping there aren't all day rain events while we are there....

Purely anecdotal but I went to Disney from June 1 to 7 last year and it didn't rain once during park hours while we were there. It was raining ever so slightly when we arrived in Florida off the plane but other than that nothing.

I would have liked some rain, it was super hot lol.

When we went the first week in June 2013, I remember it rained a couple of times. Once in the afternoon when we were in MK. I remember because DD had just done BBB and we were standing in line to meet Merida when it started raining. She took off her princess dress and put on a ponco and my mom and I put on our ponchos on and continued to wait. It wasn't bad except where we were standing was downhill and water was rushing down and our feet got soaked.
The other time was in the morning. We had planned to go to EPCOT and do WS before our lunch adr at Akershus. We put our ponchos on and walked over from the Boardwalk and visited the countries. It stopped raining sometime before we ate lunch and stayed dry the rest of the day.
I would plan on rain, just be prepared for it, but know that it usually doesn't last all day.

We have gone to Orlando every summer 2007-2013 in June. It has rained every time except on the 2008 trip. Most times its not an all day event, but sometimes it was enough that I was getting tired of it. In 2013, a tropical storm hit, rained most of the day. Just be prepared and hope for the best. (we will be there too, this year)

June is rainy. I think it's the rainiest month in Orlando.

Unless there is a major storm passing through, the mornings are usually good.

The afternoons usually get a storm, with lightning, so it doesn't mean you can keep touring while it is going on unfortunately. It can also mess up swimming in the afternoons for the same reason. Even if it''s not raining, if there is lightning within a certain radius the pools stay closed.

Usually the storms pass, but when we went in June, we had a day or two where it went on for a few hours.

Get out early and get your must-dos done!

Rainy season begins in late May/June.Some years rain more than other years but I can recall it raining every day of June one year.

I always go in mid-May and have NEVER had rain in 9 trips! In 2010 I went with my sister in June and it bucketed almost every day. It was the wettest trip ever. Needless to say I have not gone with my sister again-LOL (just kidding we can't usually be away at the same time, now she goes in October.)

Last June trip it rained in the afternoon every day then stopped before dinner. Mornings and Evenings were nice.

:thumbsup2 This exactly! We go every year in early June.

Early June means rain is fairly normal. It does not always occur but plan for an afternoon shower. Lightning can be frequent or it can be a tropical downpour. Lightning is bad as you will be corralled and most rides don't run. If a tropical storm occurs well rain is a given as is wind. Rain also means no outdoor characters which is very bad and parades do not run.

How often does it happen I wonder that the FoF parade is canceled during rainy season (June-Aug)

First weekend of June 2013, we were there for SWW and it torrentially rained starting in the mid-afternoon through evening one day. All the Star Wars events and M&Gs were cancelled. It was kinda a bummer, but what can you do?

It's always been pretty rainy for us in early June. Usually just afternoon and evening, but we've had several firework shows and parades rained out :(

Two years ago we went in late June and had unusually cool (by cool I mean low 80s) and rainy weather. The cool part was nice but it rained a lot - not just the standard afternoon shower. I had my nephews with me and they love going to the pool but they kept closing the pool due to thunder. However, I think that year was a strange weather pattern because even up here in NC that particular June was "cooler" and rainy compared to normal.

That's the only time I've ever been in June so I can't speak past my personal experience.
