What's the reason that Hollywood Studios is changing name for 2nd time?

its going to be HollywoodLand. Not only was that the original name of the hollywood sign, but disney is full of lands, and in the frozen sing a long they even refer to it as hollywoodland. I think that was pretty clear

Actually, I would like Disney's Hollywoodland.

Whatever it is, I think it's primarily to get the word "studios" out of the name.

Personally, this is "who cares" for me. Our local baseball field has changed names 4 times since I moved here. Turns out what goes on there stays the same, regardless of the name.

They can call it Disney's Frozenland sponsored by Ford and the Iphone 12 or Disney's Marvel-less Hollywood (get it, because they own Marvel but they aren't allowed to put it in their park! Tee hee!) or Disney's Dream Factory. They can re-name the park every 6 months to match the latest blockbuster. I just don't care. The name has NO bearing on me or whether I go to the park.

I have to ask everyone, why do YOU care so much? Is Disney crushing your soul because you proposed in front of the BAH?

Just wondering. Thats all.

I wouldn't care for anything with "land" on the end because it sounds like an extension of the Magic Kingdom. Movie Magic or Hollywood Adventure sound better to me. Now is the time to rename it since the major overhauls give Disney the change to essentially market DHS as an entirely new theme park.

STAR WARS LAND!!!

Tear down or renovate anything that isn't Star Wars related. Build a giant ball like in epcot around TOT, now it's the DSD Death Star Drop. Change the backgrounds around the track and the cars at RNR and now it's the TPR Tatooine Pod Races!

One of the concept art paintings for Star Wars Land that was released or leaked a year or two ago showed a large coaster around the current location of Indiana Jones stunt show. It looked similar to Rip Ride Rockit in shape and height and I must say, my heart quickened when I saw it.

The great thing about RRR at Universal is it's quite big, fast and scary, but the G forces and general ride characteristics are such that it can be ridden by a lot more people than most other big coasters. Coasters like Hulk, Manta, Dragon Challenge etc. that seem to make give everyone over age 40 either nausea, headaches, a sore neck or all three.

Everest also fits the category, big and exciting but not just for 15 - 40 year olds.

In other words ... just 'cause the SW movies are HEAVILY CG-laden, it doesn't mean you have to fill your theme-park "land" with digital CG effects. There's a lot to be said for real movement, real wind in your hair and real water in your sandals.

100%

The best rides are still based in the wonderful special effects produced by Isaac A. Newton and Co...

The best three rides at wdw are tower, Rock n roller coaster, and splash mountain...in my opinion.

New Star Wars rides need to be non- simulator based...

Because frankly, the first Star Wars simulator ride is worse Than some video games out there...

As others have said they are not really studios anymore. To me that park has an identity crisis, maybe they are trying to unify it a bit.

well, i have 300 disney pins for the time period it was called MGM studios.
now i have 345 disney pins with the disney hollywood studios.

this is going to break me when the park gets renamed.
gonna have to buy all the pins of characters and everything they have, all over again.

i don't care what they rename it.
it took me quite a few years to stop calling it MGM and then DHS.
once the new name is announced, i'm sure it will years before i adjust to the new name
