No Trips in 2015 turns into 3 Trips in 2015--Update 4/24/15 -- Page 31

I know I have a few responses to do and an update, but it's been a long day and I'm wiped.

First, we went to see my grandniece, Mia Rose, for the first time. It was also the first time I had seen/talked to my brother in four or five years. We've had some issues over the year. While we will never be "best friends" it is good to be talking to him again and getting along.

Me and Chuck

Me and Mia Rose

Tonight, after shopping, we had dinner with IheartDDuck and her mom and Pop. Mom made homemade Belgium waffles and Belgium fries. The food was delicious. We had so much fun...laughing, talking and it is good to see Popadon doing so well after his heart surgery. We are definitely going to make a habit of this meet up.

I will try really hard to get that update done tomorrow and catch up every where.

Mia Rose is gorgeous and Papadon looks like so much fun to hang out with. That's also a great picture of you and Danielle. There is a Cinderella plate behind you guys!

Your great niece is a cutie. And kudos for patching up things with your brother.

Changes in a pre trip report? Disers HATE reading that stuff. :upsidedow

I have your 3 Epcot attractions as FPs for our trip next month. (I hate to think of when we have to choose between Soarin, Test Track, and Frozen Norway as a Group 1 FP. My DD adores Frozen.)

Lovely plans after that.

I’ll have to remember you will be writing about 2 Marys.

Glad your on talking terms with your brother, and your Niece? HOW ADORABLE! squeezable!

Ugh oh FP TIME!!! YAY!

Love your plans for Epcot. I'm really excited to read some reviews of the new restaurant. I hope it's good because I love Italian food! And yummy choice for dinner, Coral Reef is one of my favorites.

Hey Kathy!

Glad you and your brother are working things out. Your niece is adorable!!

Your day 4 plans sound fantastic! I love Soarin' and am really looking forward to that again. Also this trip I am looking forward to just hanging out in the WS and take it all in. Also time at the pool with a drink sounds wonderful!!

Day four looks great! A nice relaxing pool afternoon is just what the doctor orders sometimes! I don't blame you for skipping the creepy clown pool and opting for the quiet one lol.

Sounds like a nice trip and great that you were able to meet Mia Rose. That's a very pretty name. Olivia's middle name is actually Rose as well.

Glad you got to meet up with Danielle and her parents - and definitely good to see Popadon back in mid-season form!

*************************

Sounds like will be a nice day at EPCOT to take it all in and not have to do too much.

What? You don't want to watch the the clown from It regurgitate children while poolside? ;)

As you know, it's taken me some time to get adjusted to the "new" Dis and to start getting the notifications again. I can now say that I am officially caught up again. YAY! I'm so happy that you were able to see Chuck again and that you are on better terms now. That little Mia Rose is absolutely adorable! Your dinner with Iheartduck and her mom and dad sounds like a lot of fun. It's goo to see her dad doing so well.

Day 4 plans look really good. It's always nice to have a "do whatever" day.

It was really good seeing him after five years. I'm going to try to arrange a get together with his kids and granddaughter and my kids and their significant others. I don't think I'll get Markie (Chuck never even responded to his wedding invite).
Ouch... that's just sad. Maybe Markie can be the bigger man? :confused3

Either way, re-establishing the family relationship on any level is a good thing. I'm happy for you!

Since I will have already been there for 3-1/2 days, I'm letting Mary pick what she wants to do at Epcot...rides or just roam around F&G and have a drink or two, etc.
I think you owe her a drink or 2. :drinking1

Looks like a nice EPCOT day. Sorry you're losing Nicki and Todd though.

So, I have not been keeping up with this report since I first checked in. I am having trouble keeping up my subscriptions on the regular TR boards, so I never make it over here.

Let me start by telling you about my special relationship with Nicki (which she doesn't know about...) I absolutely adore her dining reviews and credit her pictures and descriptions with helping me find some of my favorite dining spots at Disney. I used to spend as much time on the Dining boards as I do on the TR boards now and her reviews were my absolute favorite.

So, thank you, Nicki!

Now back to your preview...

Good luck with your FP+ selections tomorrow. Are you making them or are Nicki and Mary making them?

Congratulations on your score of a 1BR with a BW view! That is awesome!!! Can't wait to see the room.

You are visiting lots of places I have not been to- Trattoria al Forno (haven't seen any menus there, moment of silence for Kouzzina) or Splitsville. That sounds like fun! We have never done a preopening CP breakfast, but it is on my Disney bucket list. It has been a long while since Coral Reef, but we have always enjoyed our meals there and the atmosphere is just awesome.

Great plans so far. I'm sure you are getting more and more excited by the day!

:goodvibes:

Sounds like a great day! A relaxing night for Mary will probably be just what she needs before a full day at MK!

Thanks, Alexis...I think so too.

All great FP+ choices Kathy, especially obviously Soarin'. :)

Rob, unfortunately, there are not a lot of choice. I could care less about Test Track and I don't do Mission.

I just love roaming World Showcase whether at F&W or not. I spend so little time in Future World anymore. Just put me in WS and let me loop and loop and loop and I'm a happy camper. Oh yes, and of course watch Voices of Liberty a gazillion times.

Future World really isn't all that exciting anymore. I'm with you...WS and cocktails and Voices of Liberty is where I want to be.

Adult beverage by the pool sounds like a great way to end a day to me. :drinking1

I think so too, Rob.

Plans look good!

Why ever not?!?:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:;)

Thanks; oh I don't know...something gross about being spit out of a clown's mouth I guess. :rotfl2:

Sounds like a great day! I'm sure it will be sad to say goodbye to Nicki and Todd, but at least you have Mary coming to keep you company.

It will, but I'll see them for two weeks in October so that is good. And I'm looking forward to spending some time with Mary outside of the office.

I keep wanting to try Coral Reef, but it never works out for us (Epcot is always a half-day park for us, so having an ADR doesn't make sense). I hope you guys enjoy!

I've always enjoyed my meals at Coral Reef and you can't ask for better ambiance than watching the fish swim by.

A dip in the (clown-free) quiet pool sounds like a nice way to relax at the end of the day!

I totallya gree, Sarah.

ohh i like the day AND i like the fact you will be a a normal pool with your drinks.. Drinks and clowns DO NOT GO TOGETHER!!!

I'm afraid of the nightmares I'd have if I had drinks AT the clown pool.

Reading along...love to hear how the experts do it.

:welcome: I am delighted to have you here. I don't know about being an expert...I still learn something new every year, but I have been over 25 times. :)

Sounds like it will be a fun day. Trattoria Al Forno looks interesting, but we enjoyed Kouzzina, so we were a little sad to see it gone, but hopefully they have replaced it with something good.

I am so disappointed that we never got to try Kouzzina's. I'll be sure to let you know how Trattoria is.

We loved the Boardwalk pool, for whatever reason the clown was fine for us, so hope you all have a very relaxing day there!

Nope...no clown for me. I'll take my cocktail to the quiet pool. :)

Sounds like a YUMMY day!

I think so too. :)

That clown pool terrifies me, but I know that if we stay there in October my kids will be all over that...

I just can't...it's just too freaky for me. I tried to upgrade to a one-bedroom in October. Have you looked for availability?

I'm glad to hear you and your brother are able to be civil with each other. My mother doesn't get along with her brother either, so I know how tense that can make things. Your grand niece is adorable! :lovestruc

It didn't end up being tense because we never saw each other. But I am very happy that we are back in touch.

Plans look good! The ever changing daily plans of a WDW trip; just part of the fun!

Yes they are; and I'm sure they'll change a number of times before then too.

Adult beverages and swimming sound pretty awesome to me right now. Heck, they sound awesome to me all the time!:drinking1 You're doing right to take your dip in the non clown pool; that thing was too creepy in your TR.

I'm with you. No more creepy clown in my TR if I can help it.

I hope you have a great trip

:welcome: thank you for joining. I've got 61 days, but it is getting closer.

Day 4 plans sound great to me...especially the dessert!!

That is one of my favorite desserts at Disney; the other is at LeCellier, but I won't go there anymore.

Your plans for day 4 look great. I am glad you were able to meet you great niece and your brother. It's great t h at your brother and you are able to be civil with each other.

Thanks...I like the plans too. I'm glad I finally got to meet Mia Rose too and glad that my brother and I had a good visit.

Mia Rose is gorgeous and Papadon looks like so much fun to hang out with. That's also a great picture of you and Danielle. There is a Cinderella plate behind you guys!

Isn't she though? She's a big baby, but happy as a clam. Popadon is awesome...I hope one day Mark and I will be there the same time they are. The trouble that Mark and Popadon will get into will be legend. Thanks...Danielle is a true sweetie. And you should see ALL of the Disney stuff in their house.

Your great niece is a cutie. And kudos for patching up things with your brother.

Thanks; I'm glad we did too...life is too short.

Changes in a pre trip report? Disers HATE reading that stuff. :upsidedow

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: How boring it would be if none of us ever changed anything.

I have your 3 Epcot attractions as FPs for our trip next month. (I hate to think of when we have to choose between Soarin, Test Track, and Frozen Norway as a Group 1 FP. My DD adores Frozen.)

Wow...that will be a tough one. I don't care about Test Track. I'm thinking I would be sure to be close to Norway as soon as WS opens up.

Lovely plans after that.

I’ll have to remember you will be writing about 2 Marys.

Two Marys...but two different trips. The first trip is Nicki and Mary that I work with; the second trip will be Mary and her girls.

Glad your on talking terms with your brother, and your Niece? HOW ADORABLE! squeezable!

I literally just wanted to squeeze those cheeks of hers.

Ugh oh FP TIME!!! YAY!

Yes, I'm leaving that job in Nicki's capable hands since I made the dining ADR's.

Love your plans for Epcot. I'm really excited to read some reviews of the new restaurant. I hope it's good because I love Italian food! And yummy choice for dinner, Coral Reef is one of my favorites.

Thanks, Ariana. I've heard a lot of people say they've read some bad reviews of Trattoria, but Andy and Des enjoyed it when they were there in December. Coral Reef is not at top of our list, but I do enjoy it every other trip.

Hey Kathy!

 Casey.

Glad you and your brother are working things out. Your niece is adorable!!

Thank you; she is a sweetie.

Your day 4 plans sound fantastic! I love Soarin' and am really looking forward to that again. Also this trip I am looking forward to just hanging out in the WS and take it all in. Also time at the pool with a drink sounds wonderful!!

I really enjoy Soarin' too; waiting for the supposed refurb on it--haven't read anything in awhile. I love laying by the pool with a drink and just taking it all in.

Day four looks great! A nice relaxing pool afternoon is just what the doctor orders sometimes! I don't blame you for skipping the creepy clown pool and opting for the quiet one lol.

I'm with you...especially since we will have been running the first couple of days.

Sounds like a nice trip and great that you were able to meet Mia Rose. That's a very pretty name. Olivia's middle name is actually Rose as well.

I love Rose for a middle name. Our daughter-in-law and son are considering that IF they have a daughter when she gets pregnant.

Glad you got to meet up with Danielle and her parents - and definitely good to see Popadon back in mid-season form!

I was so happy to see Popadon back to his old self. :)

*************************

Sounds like will be a nice day at EPCOT to take it all in and not have to do too much.

I'm pretty sure we will have covered everything we need to do in the previous days, so a nice stroll and stopping where we want will be perfect.

What? You don't want to watch the the clown from It regurgitate children while poolside? ;)

Um...NO...I'll take a pass.

Lisa, I'm still not adjusted (and I never got notifications to begin with). Mia Rose is a gem. We did have a fun dinner, and I'm so glad Popadon is better...he gave us quite the scare.

Day 4 plans look really good. It's always nice to have a "do whatever" day.

Yes it is; but do you ever have a "do whatever" day? ;)

Ouch... that's just sad. Maybe Markie can be the bigger man? :confused3

Not if you've talked to Markie...no. We shall see what happens.

Either way, re-establishing the family relationship on any level is a good thing. I'm happy for you!

I'm happy too. Now if I could just get the two brothers talking again. But that will take a miracle.

I think you owe her a drink or 2. :drinking1

Don't I know it!!! She has been so good to us; I'll be buying her several drinks as well as picking up the tab at an upcoming meal which I've not gotten to that day for yet.

Looks like a nice EPCOT day. Sorry you're losing Nicki and Todd though.

Yes, I'm sorry too, but I will then see them 153 days later for almost two full weeks so it won't be so bad saying goodbye this time (unless she starts to cry).

So, I have not been keeping up with this report since I first checked in. I am having trouble keeping up my subscriptions on the regular TR boards, so I never make it over here.

No worries, Dee. I'm having a hard time keeping up anywhere. And I know a lot of people aren't into the PTR's.

I will be sure to tell her. She doesn't get here much anymore...especially right now with "season" on the island and all the snowbirds driving her crazy. She stopped doing dining reviews because they no longer do 10 day trips and I do miss her writing them. And that's how I first found Nicki too. Such a small world.

Now back to your preview...

Good luck with your FP+ selections tomorrow. Are you making them or are Nicki and Mary making them?

Nicki is making ours; I will do Mary's and mine.

Congratulations on your score of a 1BR with a BW view! That is awesome!!! Can't wait to see the room.

Isn't it? I am so super excited about it. We have a BW view in October as well, but a studio. I'm going to get awfully spoiled.

I'm very interested in Trattoria because I love Italian; unfortunately, I never got to Kouzzina. I'm really looking forward to bowling as well (and we will be doing it again on the girls trip in July). You MUST do a preopening CP breakfast, Dee. It's one of my all-time favorite things to do. The atmosphere at CR can't be beat.

Great plans so far. I'm sure you are getting more and more excited by the day!

:goodvibes:

61 days and counting. But the good news is there are only 21 days until we get to Phoenix to see Mary, Jeff and the girls.

Wellllllll, you know me too well Kathy....my "do whatever" days usually turn into days that we have breakfast at Crystal Palace, schedule three FP attractions and then "do whatever". :teeth::teeth:

Wellllllll, you know me too well Kathy....my "do whatever" days usually turn into days that we have breakfast at Crystal Palace, schedule three FP attractions and then "do whatever". :teeth::teeth:

Sounds like my kind of day. :rotfl2:

Kathy, I am all caught up. Your day sounds like another great one. Can't wait for the trip report!!!

Gosh darn it, my alerts are all wonky and I now see that I'd missed several updates! :sad2: I'd heard on other TRs about your plans to meet up with Danielle and her parents so I was anxious to see an update and lo and behold! You already had one! Sounds like you all had a wonderful time! :goodvibes And I'm also so happy to see you had a good visit with your family. :goodvibes

Your Epcot plans look great! :thumbsup2 And that dessert... :cloud9:

This is when we are NOW having breakfast at Trattoria al Forno.
I'm looking forward to reading how this goes. We really liked Kouzzina but will keep an open mind about Trattoria.

I'm thinking that after dinner and since this is Mary's travel day, we may just head back to the resort after dinner and take a dip in the pool

Yes, it will be the quiet pool and NOT the clown pool. Although I'm sure we'll stop for an adult beverage on the way to the quiet pool.
Something else you might want to look into at BW near the quiet pool at the Community Hall is the afternoon marshmallow roast. No cost, no reservations, don't bring anything...just show up and eat as many as you can! It's a nice break if you don't have plans.

First, we went to see my grandniece, Mia Rose, for the first time.
Love the name.... We have a Rose too- Juliana Rose!
It was also the first time I had seen/talked to my brother in four or five years. We've had some issues over the year. While we will never be "best friends" it is good to be talking to him again and getting along.
Glad it went well. Life is too short for family drama.

Me and Chuck

Great pic!

Me and Mia Rose

Adorable!!!!!!

Looks like a fun time had by all!

Hello! I'd love to join you on this PTR! Going from 0 to 3 trips in one year sounds like a fabulous idea to me! love all of the plans you have so far!

Day 4 plans sound great! I think we'll be in Epcot that morning too, I can't remember without looking at my schedule!

Yum, I love that dessert at Coral Reef! :thumbsup2

All caught up!

Very belated happy birthday to Andy.

Glad to hear things are better with your brother. Family issues are tough. Your great niece is a doll!

Always good to see Popadon and that's a really nice picture of you and Danielle.

The plans sound great so far. We've never eaten at Coral Reef because we like the restaurants in World Showcase. Got to try it one of these times.

Looking forward to reading more!
