Somebody asked about the difference between a room at the Beach Club and a studio at Beach Club Villas.

Here's the info on the BCV studios:

A studio will have 1 queen size bed and 1 double size sleeper sofa. They sleep 4.

If you want more beds, they will not bring you a cot. So if, for example, your son and daughter will not share the sleeper sofa, Disney won't help you. You could try bringing an air mattress from home.

I think I read somewhere that after the refurb, the studios will also have a sleep chair. That means they will sleep 5. But I don't have that in writing.

A studio will have a kitchenette which means wet bar (kitchen sink), small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and small counter. There will be paper plates, paper bowls and plastic utensils in the kitchenette cupboards. I think they have real coffee mugs, but I'm not positive.

I think all BCV villas have full balconies (none of the "Juliet" balconies). Unless, of course, you are on the ground floor.

As for views, they're not great at BCV. I just saw a post on this somewhere, so I will edit this if I find more info.

If you book a studio through Disney's Central Reservations Office or online, you will get daily housekeeping. If you book on points, you will not get daily housekeeping.

If you book on points and you are staying for less than 8 nights, you get Trash & Towel Service on Day 4. This includes:
- emptying the trash & replacing the trash bags
- clean towels
- bathroom amenities replaced as needed
- tissues, paper towels & toilet paper replaced
- coffee, sugar, creamers and sweeteners replaced.

If you are staying on points for 8 nights or more, you get a full cleaning on day 4, and Trash & Towel Service on day 8. Full cleaning involves everything you would get for Trash & Towel Service plus:
- changing the sheets
- vacuuming
- dusting
- cleaning the bathroom
- cleaning the kitchen/kitchenette
- washing the dishes

If you are staying on points and you want additional housekeeping services, you have to pay for it.

There's the BCV info for you. I've never stayed in the Beach Club itself, but Dee probably has the info on that to do a comparison.
Thank you...this is great info!

Two questions.

I know you can have beach toys and pool noodles at the pool. What about beach balls, a football, or other ball for the pool?

Does anyone know if there is an outdoor basketball hoop on the BC or Yacht club resort grounds?

Thanks in advance for your help. Our first stay at YC is just over a month away. I look forward to being able to help others with questions once I have been there.

I've not seen footballs or beach balls at SAB, but I'm not sure of the policy.

Wow - seeing more photos of the new club lounge and the rooms today - the renovations look amazing!!! And I'm so happy to be back in the Epcot resort area!

The Villas do have real coffee cups. Also if you are on points they do not replenish the coffee or plates daily. We always bring our own coffee and filters but if you don't want to do this you can buy more coffee there. We restocked the paper plates and plastic silverware at the quick service location.

It is going to be my wife myself and a toddler staying at Yacht Club. Want a room with a GREAT Boardwalk view and big balcony to sit out on. Can you please give me a list of rooms and categories (both club level and non club-level) with these requests?

In October, we were in Room 3049. As per Touring Plans, we requested upper floor for views, SE facing (faces the lake), and this was the room they assigned us, on the third floor. It has a full balcony, as all YC rooms do, and a great view:

Question about Beaches & Cream, I am have a hard time finding a reservation for 5, if I make one for 3 and one for 2, do you think they would push 2 tables together or do you think we could fit in a booth? My younger two don't take up much room and could probably fit along with my mom on one side.

Also, I vote for Jessie for the puppy's name.

Just called CRO to switch our res from YC garden view standard room to BC lagoon /pool view Club Level( very excited about that, it's been a while since we have stayed there).
We arrive this Thursday, and I did ask the reservation cm whether Stormalong Bay work is complete. She said "no notes saying under refurb, so that means they have completed work."
If any one else can confirm this chime in!

I'm at the BC now, the only part of the pool that is currently closed is the tiny tiny baby pool by the Ping pong table

The YC does not have the small balconies so that will not be an issue. You want to book a room in the Water View catagory and put in a request for lagoon view. When you check in (don't do advance check-in) make sure the room is facing the lagoon and not the quiet pool. You could go Garden View and ask for Gazebo view or Courtyard view and you get an added benefit of seeing the Boardwalk area when you look to the side of the balcony. However, WV is probably how you want to go. Remember that asking for a particular room number is never a good idea. You would have to hope that the room will be vacated on the date you arrive. Asking for a particular room number doesn't tell the room assigner what it is you really want. If you book a water view room and ask for lagoon view then you have the best opportunity for the view of the boardwalk area. Happy planning!

Hi everyone! I'm super excited and have to share where I know people will understand the excitement :) My parents and I are making a short Flower and Garden Festival trip soon and were originally booked at Coronado (which we do love). BUT since we're planning on spending almost all of our time in Epcot- I upgraded us to the Yacht Club as a surprise/thanks for all you do for my parents! I stalked the Passholder discount page for weeks until I finally saw it listed and grabbed it as soon as I saw an opening. I'm trying so hard to keep it a surprise and hoping I can wait to tell them until we get in line for the Magical Express!

So....we've stayed at both Yacht and Beach but not in the last year or so. Anything new or different I should know or look for?

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list. May?

:woohoo:

Does anyone know if the Beach Club still hands out the resort newspaper when you check-in? I think it's called the Tide Tribune. I've stayed at POFQ for my last several trips and they no longer have the resort newspaper. On my list trip,
I did not even receive one of the fold up maps which contained info about the resort.

We received a Directory of Services & Resort Map when we checked into our room in July 2013. Not sure what is being given out now at checkin.

Anyone with a recent stay want to report about what you received?

:thumbsup2

I'll make the change to your info on the Be Our Guest list.

The news about the pool seems to agree with a guest who arrived yesterday and says all areas of the pool, except for a tiny kiddie pool, are open.

:cheer2:

Good question. I don't know the answer, but I would be very surprised if footballs or other hard balls were allowed at SAB. Maybe beach balls (they use beach balls in the activities pool area, but that may be just for organized games like water volleyball). There are no lifeguards at any of the three quiet pools, so as long as there are not other swimmers around, I would think you could use them there.

I am not aware of a basketball hoop on the resort grounds.

:)

If you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, please let us know the dates of your stay.

:cool1:

We don't really have a listing of specific rooms and view ratings, but we do have a sample of room views provided by past guests to give you an idea of some of the views from the various categories.

Yacht Club Room Views

Katesdad has some helpful advice in the post below. I recommend that you book a Water View room (either standard resort room or club level) and request "Boardwalk view, please"

:goodvibes:

I am sure if there is space for your entire party at the time of your reservation, the CMs at the restaurants will do their best to accommodate your request to sit together.

::yes::

Hi all, I haven't been very active on this board since I introduced myself but wanted to pop in and say we have a change for our reservation. I called on Saturday to book a BC garden view room for my sister and they did not have any GV rooms for our stay. So we all switched over to YC. If you don't mind changing us on the BOG list, that would be great. Jacqui and family 10/9-17 at YC (celebrating DH's 50th). Thanks!!

I've looked all over the first post and I'm not seeing anything about refurbs at YC. I know they are still working on BC but come October, do you think they will be at YC?

I'm just glad we were able to stay at an Epcot resort during F&W. It's been a while since I've been to F&W and I am really looking forward to it!

Thank you,
Jacqui

I was checking yesterday, and for the long weekend in October that we're going, there was no availability at all at the YC, so we booked the BC. The same thing happened this past summer when I tried to book the BC for late October, many rooms were taken out of inventory because of the refurb. So, I'm assuming that this October, the YC will be undergoing refurb as well. I'm pretty sure that's what has been reported, so it makes sense to me. We've never stayed at the BC, so I'm excited...this seems like it'll be a new tradition for us - a F&WF long weekend at the YC or BC. Love it, and love this super-helpful, super-friendly thread!

I had the same issue with early to mid November dates. I was surprised when availability popped up out of the blue one day, but only for garden view rooms. That sounds like a fun tradition!

Just wanted to say thanks for posting those pictures and what an awesome view you had!

WOOO HOOO...just was able to move our POFQ ressie to BC Deluxe Studio for 10/16 - 10/23...wanted a GV room, but apparently you all were there ahead of me, and there wasn't any availability - but there WAS a Studio Villa...a few steps further to EPCOT, but hey....it's the BEACH CLUB!!! Hoping that the renovations will not be an issue...and that we'll get a "new" room....

We'll be celebrating our 40th Anniversary while we are there - a year after the fact, but better late than never!

We LOVE BC...it's the first WDW experience we had, way back in 1986 - and have stayed here a few times since then (never in the villas!), but mostly the moderates....this event is going to be worth the extra cost, and if a discount happens - well, that's just gravy!!!

Can you add me to the BOG list??? Thanks so much to everyone who has posted, and continues to post, info about this fantastic resort!! Can't tell you how much we are looking forward to this trip!

:-) How about a good old "Welcome Home". :-)

Thanks so much Mickey T (and LisaCM614!) Did I say I'm really excited? One of the things I'm really looking forward to is the easy access to dining. After two trips (August and January) without Epcot area resorts, I so appreciate the proximity to World Showcase. And BC Marketplace remains one of my favorite resorts CS locations - I know I'm alone, but I love how non-crazy it is.

Mickey T, I heard we ran the marathon together in January! How did it go?
