Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

Tell me about it. I was a CM at the time and let me tell you if I had a dime for every visitor who complained about it, I would NOT have to worry about my future.

Can't imagine the unsuspecting visitor entering from under the train station, looking up Main Street and seeing that, thinking, What the ....?

Thanks everyone for posting these photos!!!

Thank you to everyone for posting these wonderful pictures! I noticed a "theme" in all of them: that is, the crowds were small and it looked like no one was pushing. The crowds look like a 1 or 2 day nowadays. Sigh....... I miss a lot of that too. I miss the backlot tour and being able to see the real imagineers working at their work tables drawing the next big picture in Disney. When we went, they were working on the drawings of the Lion King, not even hinted at yet! It was awesome. Now everything seems washed down to bare bones. I wish this entire thread could be sent to Disney management to see what is missing at WDW now! Again, thanks everyone and the OP:)

Most welcome.

I have always enjoyed taking pictures and as I was looking though some of my older digital shots I noticed I had some that could not be taken again. I have learned many new things (that are old) about Disney World. Glad everyone enjoys this thread. Thanks to all who have contributed. I now have to start looking at my old film prints...

By 1997 those Aladdin parade camels were standing either side of the Soundstage Restaurant - where Playhouse Disney is now. No idea if they were still spitting! Look, it featured the Hunchback of Notre Dame too, remember the play in MGM - that was fab! I have no pics of it but we used to keep piles of the bell shaped confetti that was released from the ceiling!!

I was that unsuspecting visitor. It was our first trip to WDW. I was a teen. My mom did all the planning. I had no idea until I got there the castle was a cake. I was not pleased.

Awwww, I'd totally forgotten a lot of these, what fond memories! It's 25 years since we first visited, I wonder what it will be like in another 25 years.

Miyuki and her awesome creations. :(

NO!!!

I haven't had a chance to visit the Japan pavillion in my most recent trips a few years but I was hoping she (or a replacement) was still doing this! I remember waiting what felt like hours until her next "showing" and I would be up there front and center to make sure I received one of her beautiful creations!

When did she leave? The last time I remember her was probably sometime around 2001...
