I am sorry if this has been asked already, I didn't see this addressed when I skimmed through the thread pages. Question: Do the boats to Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary allow ECVs aboard?

There are two types of boats that go to MK and the CR/FW/WL loop. The larger boat will accommodate an ECV. The smaller launch will not hold one. The boats tend to alternate, so you may have to wait until the right boat arrives. :)

We will be there mid September!!! Question...we usually stay at AKL and have switched to WL for the first time. You've done both. Which do you prefer?
Well they both have their advantages, AKL is quiet, remote and you really feel like you are away from the madness of the disney parks. I love their food court and of course you can't beat Boma !! I loved WL closeness to MK, the boat rides, availability of rental bikes and Bay Lake location. I am not a big fan of the WL food court, so often we would hope on the boat and hit the Contemporary Food Court or get the monorail to the Poly. WL Roaring Forks is so small for a hotel that size. My family would prefer to stay at AKL but momma won out and WL it is. I love the atmosphere and theming of the WL.

Does Sturdy Branches have a hair salon? I was hoping to have my daughters hair done for MNSSHP this September at a salon rather than at BBB. We found BBB to be a bit hectic and the hairstyles to be quite limited when we were there last September.

Just booked :jumping1:

Add me to the list!! Booked at WL, courtyard bunk beds Aug 7-16.

Now I get to stress out about dining and FP+ planning . Can't wait to ring that arcade bell.!

We're celebrating our 20th anniversary and we honeymooned at Disney. We have a brick too in front of MK walkway under the monorail. Last time it had gum on it - hope it's cleaner this time!

Anyone ever celebrate a birthday at the lodge?

We are eating lunch at Whispering Canyon on my DH's birthday (Easter Sunday). Wasn't sure if I should make a note on the reservation, or if they do birthday cakes.

We celebrating our DS's birthday during our last trip and had a mickey-head cake delivered to our room. But we were staying at Kidani so we had a fridge to keep the leftovers.

60 days - Ive got up at 4.30 so I could do my online checkin and make fast pass + . The check in worked but I can't do the fast pass + not sure if its me or the system.

Im so frustrated, not sure if its me or the system!

-MDE has let me do the online checkin but when I go to Fast pass + the dates we are there are greyed out.

We have linked our tickets ( DVC 4 day member offer) - not sure what else to do

What do you recommend? Am I doing something wrong?

Nothing wrong but people have noticed that on nights that MK is open past midnight then the FP window opens at 1am instead of Midnight. Today/tonight was one of those times.

Yep I waited up till 6 am ( I'm in the UK) and got sorted thanks - now back in bed and having a lie in !

What's the fastest way to get to Epcot? Is it quicker to take a boat to CR then monorail to Epcot or take the bus directly there? I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere- I didn't see it when going through the pages. Thank you so much!

Just returned from a fantastic week at the lodge! Thanks to this thread for building the excitement. The lodge still managed to exceed my expectations! We usually stay at the Poly, but enjoyed the lodge just as much! Responding to a couple of questions... WCC recognized my birthday just by noticing my button. We had the whole restaurant sing to me. Also, one morning we had breakfast there, and I had to leave before the end of the meal with my wiggly 2 year old. Keenan, our server, sent my husband with a cupcake covered in candles to our room and instructed him to sing to me when I opened the door. No other restaurant on property recognized the birthday, but WCC made it memorable! Our check in was very fast, less than 5 minutes at 10:30 a.m. I had done online check in. Our room was ready by noon. I had made no requests, preferring early check in. Now that I have had room 1164, we would request 1st floor, south wing overlooking the villas. It was quiet, and steps to the quiet pool, beach, boat rental, and main pool. It was also close to boat transportation and easy outside walk to lobby and bus stop. It did have a long interior walk to lobby, but we just stuck with the outdoor shortcuts. Check out was also 5 minutes, including checking backs with airline. We left at 4:00 p.m. And found this much faster than an early morning flight departure. A couple of details I don't remember reading in this thread... Free laundry in the villas building, picnic tables and tether ball on beach by boat rentals made an excellent breakfast picnic spot, the quiet pool has jets! Thanks again to all posters. Hopefully, we will return someday!

Thanks. I'm definitely considering Trail's End for dinner for our first night. We are sticking by the resort when we arrive, no parks that day, so I thought a nice ride over to Fort Wilderness would be a good laid back thing to do that night. Plus, the menu there is right up my family's alley.
we really enjoyed trails end. We made a last minute reservation (one of few places that consistently had openings the day of for dinner), and wished we had discovered it earlier in our trip. Take time to explore a bit before dinner if you can. The barn, pony rides, a shop, and playground are all right near the restaurant.

Thinking of catching the Hoop-de-do show while there in October. Can anyone tell me how long it is and whether anyone has ever asked for a vegetarian meal?
we did not have a vegetarian meal, BUT we enjoyed a great allergy friendly meal prepared by chef T.J. T.J. Is the chef for Trail's End, and the two locations share a kitchen. He is actually best known for catering to vegetarians. I am sure he will take great care of you!

So excited! We have booked our stay at the WL for 8/7 to 8/12 (then moving on to Cabanna Bay for a few days). We are going to be there for our 20th Anniversary. It is extra special since we honeymooned in Disney! I am excited to stay at WL since I haven't stayed in a Deluxe resort since 1978 and the rest of my family have never stayed in a Deluxe. I booked my Dining yesterday and I am still feeling the magic!

Just noticed you on the list for our days. Even weirder we're celebrating our 20th anniversary and we honeymooned at Disney too!!! Small World!

I searched the thread, but couldn't find the answer so I'm sorry if this has been asked before. :) Where are the refill stations in WL? I've never stayed there before and I like to be prepared.

So excited! Just booked WL Cl 8/12-8/19! Can't wait to get back! Also just purchased AP last night just in time to beat the price increases which took place as of this morning. Now I am wondering if there will be any AP discounts offered during our dates!

Thanks so much for your reply; it was very helpful! :)

The only refill station is in Roaring Forks. It is conveniently located next to the main pool. It is also easy to grab a refill when going to and from the boats. :)

Thanks Mainemama for your just back report!! And :bday:
Did you take any pictures of the lodge or grounds that you could share? I need a WL picture fix pixiedust:

We got 8 inches of snow yesterday - and I am REALLY looking forward to escaping the cold for our late March visit. I sure hope it's warm enough to swim in that lovely pool while we are there.

We booked our flight down for August 22nd, but the flights back up to New York on August 29th seem outrageously high, so we are waiting a bit on that. Southwest wasn't supposed to open up their schedule through August until next week, but it's already up and the nonstop flights that we would normally want are already sold out for the Wanna Get Away cheaper fares. Here is hoping the open more of those fares up or JetBlue's prices drop a bit. Our ADR window opens on 2/23 and I still have absolutely no idea about where we want to eat and when. I guess that's what I will be working on this weekend.

Yeah Southwest can just drop stuff on you. I remember last year I booked our Sept trip at the end of May.......1 week later they dropped prices by $80! As your probably aware it's kind of a crap shoot. You have plenty of time though so I would think you'll be able to get a better price............I would hope so :-)

We love the WL...........even though we're not going back for our January trip.............We still consider it home

Thank you! My daughter will be very excited to know this.
