Somebody's Gonna Pee in a Cup, West Coast - Link to new TR 1/21

I got really behind on my replies to people's TRs. I always do this. I read from my phone and hate posting from it, next thing you know two or three updates go by and I haven't posted anything!

On our way out of Asia, we stopped and bought a small stuffed Yeti for DS as a reminder that he rode a scary ride and survived it. He loves his little Yeti, and I think he’s proud of himself now, but he made sure that it was perfectly clear that he didn’t want to ride any more rides with a Yeti in them.

Poor DS. I hope he eventually gets over his fear.

And let me just say, this turned out to be a mistake. Wow…. Definitely should have stuck with Flame Tree.

Now I'm really wondering what we're going to do for lunch on our AK day. I just checked out the menus and Flame Tree is closed for refurbishment. That's usually our goto, but Restaurantosaurus has been sort of the back up. I've wanted to try new places, but it looks like everything else serves just hummus and edamame or there's Pizzasafari!

Sorry it took so long to get your order right.

DW is somewhere in that seat next to me... I'm not sure she looked up that entire ride.

:rotfl2:

We ended up making our way on around the castle and back to Fantasyland for a ride on the carousel.

What an adorable Princess picture!

Oh, yeah. And there were princesses. DD was in heaven. She hardly ate anything, because she was constantly turning around in her chair watching the princesses move through the room.

This is pretty much the reason that you go to CRT, not the food.

She finally stood up and then came the moment that I’m still trying to figure out… She looked right at me and said “you remind me of Sebastian, only less crabby.” before waving goodbye to all of us and turning to walk to the next table.

I'm going to go with everyone else and say it's the red shirt. At least she didn't tell you that you were the first one in the landing party who would be killed! :lmao:

As I said, the food and the service were both excellent. We had no problems or complaints on that end of things. But the character interactions we got and DD’s excitement for seeing the princesses made it worthwhile.

I'm glad this worked out so well for you!

I hear him ask a few more times, but from the sound of his voice I can tell he’s moving around the restroom. The next thing I know I hear him asking to see wristbands and he’s standing right behind me.

OK, that's just downright creepy and weird.

We saw 3 or 4 buses come and go before it was finally our turn to get on one.

:faint:

It was a miserable ride, and I ended up basically standing on one leg while hanging onto the bars for most of it.

Sorry about the miserable ride. I will keep that whole rotating middle section in mind when riding the bus. I've never been on one of those kind of buses.

Overall, I'd say it sounds like you had a great Party night. Fantastic character interactions, lots of pictures, and very happy kids! Overall win!

I got a few updates behind, but I'm all caught up now!

I've gotta say, when I read the title of your thread, a probably-drunk boat driver crashing you into the dock wasn't what I was thinking! lol What a crazy experience!

Sorry about the service at Restaurantosaurus. We enjoy eating there, but I would be pissed off at that kind of service.

At least CRT was a hit! DD looks like she is just in heaven with all of the princesses. Aside from the restroom wristband flashing, it sounds like the party was great. So many special characters!

Didn't realize that I missed your last update. I probably started to read and then forgot to comment.

I can't even cut and paste my favorite picture of the kids because they are all so good. I'm so glad you enjoyed CRT. Cynthia and I sat in the same general location and it was lovely. I am sure it was wonderful watching the sun set. Awesome pictures of the kids with the princesses.

Wow. Just Wow on the whole checking the wristband even in the rest room. For real? I can just see a CM saying, "I am sorry but you can't use the urinal without a wristband". :rotfl2:

You may have only taken a handfull of pictures of the parade, but they all turned out great. That picture of Mickey is great.

Your kids did great for such a long night.

Great update! :goodvibes

Checking wristbands in bathrooms = CREEPY. Think someone was taking their job a little too seriosly.

CRT looks great. Your daughter in her dress is just too adorable.

Love the Santa goofy pic. I've never seen too many xmas party pics, so I didn't even know he was there.

Getting caught up!

Sounds like a nice morning in AK! Tat's great that your DS tried EE. We didn't go to AK in Oct so Reid still hasn't tried that ride but I'm going to make sure we change that in April!

Sorry the service was so terrible for lunch. At least the food wasn't awful, too.

The dinner at CRT sounds like a wonderful way to start off the party night. The comment from Ariel to you is quite bizarre but funny.

The bathroom CM checking wristbands is just super creepy. I mean, couldn't he check bands as people came in or out?

Sounds like y'all had a very fun night!!

The kids look so happy on the Carrousel.
You know how kids are with carousels...

In all of our visits to DW, we have NEVER eaten at Cinderella's Royal Table. We were supposed to go in July for our girls trip, but then we had to change our dates and we could not get a reservation. I'm going to keep checking though.
Good luck. I really think you'll enjoy it if you can handle the price tag without losing consciousness.

Awesome parade pictures. I do love that parade. And so glad you got a good spot for the Castle Show and Holiday Wishes (sometimes it is best to just leave the camera put away).
::yes:: The parade and fireworks are really the biggest draw to the party for us. We love them.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: DS and being grumpy because of the glitter. The pictures of your DD with Tink are priceless.
Hey, I was grumpy about the glitter too. That stuff gets everywhere.

I love the pictures with the talking Mickey Mouse as well (still haven't seen him and not sure if I want to). Have I ever mentioned to you how much your son looks like you?
I think it is worth seeing him! It is different, but interesting. It really didn't detract from the experience in the least. Except for an occasional phrase that might have seemed a bit out of context.

Nobody thinks he looks like me. Everybody thinks he looks like DW's brother.

I'm glad you got to do Big Thunder at night...I agree with you (don't :faint:) that there is nothing like it at night. And the photopass picture of your DW and DD before they went on Mermaid and to see Ariel is adorable, as are the pictures with Ariel.
Wow! I'm glad we see it eye to eye.

Ouch on the leg getting banged again and then a hole in the pants.
Yeah... my own fault though. I'll be much more careful next time and likely take up more space rather than try to cram myself into a corner out of the way.

Hi, Andy! I'm so glad I found your trip report - it's great!
Hi there! Welcome, glad you're here!

First, holy cow on the guy that stopped in the middle of the road! I realize we all want a good picture of the entrance sign, but the threat of being killed while doing so is a terrible plan!
Yeah... I mean if you're going to be stupid enough to stop in the road for a picture, at least park all the way over on the shoulder and stand in front of your car instead of just stopping, popping the door open and standing right there. Serious stupidity!

Hooray for your excellent upgrade to the Cars suites! I bet your kids were super excited!
I don't know. I was too excited to gauge their reaction!
GOOD GRIEF at the crowds and stroller craziness at Hollywood Studios! :scared1: I can't imagine dealing with that after a full night of sleep, let alone doing so after driving all night! Major props to you for keeping it together as well as you did!
I think being tired helped. It got to a point where I wasn't sure if it was real or I was dreaming. That and I was too tired to even get myself into any trouble.

Your daughter as Chip - adorable. :lovestruc
::yes:: Thanks!

I can sympathize with your wife and her troubles getting out of bed - that's me practically every morning! For some reason Disney is my exception - I have the ability to leap out of bed the minute my alarm goes off while in Disney World. I can't imagine why. ;)
I'm kind of the same way. I hate getting up and the snooze button is my friend, but I can always at least make myself get up and moving when I need to. And yes, it is definitely easier for certain things!

You're a man of my own heart - I adore the teacups, too! :thumbsup2
Well, I can tolerate the Tea Cups. I'd rather be over at BTMRR, but I don't mind riding them. The kids absolutely loved them. Easier to keep riding something with a 5 minute or less wait when they ask than something like the speedway.

Another good grief on your crazy boat ride! I wonder if the guy did have to pee in a cup...
Oh, I'm sure he peed in a cup and possibly had some blood drawn... I'd be shocked if that wasn't standard procedure for an incident like that.

Your daughter looks fantastic for her meal with Cinderella! And "Bye, Cinderella!"... my heart melted. :cloud9:
::yes:: that was a really cool moment!

A wristband check in the bathroom?! That guy was taking his job seriously!
An overachiever for sure.
SANTA GOOFY! :goofy: If I ever attend the MVMCP, I will definitely be getting a picture with that guy!
I was glad we got to do it there. He's at Osborne Lights too, but the line there is insane!!!

I can't believe the story about the urinal! I told DH about it and his response was, "If a CM ever approaches me at a urinal and requests to see my hands, I don't think they'll like the outcome."
:lmao: I don't think he was specifically talking to me, but the fact that he was standing behind me when he said it, I just couldn't let it go. When I said something he got this sheepish look on his face and I didn't hear anymore from him.

I totally agree about BTMRR at night, it's a whole other experience. I also love Splash at night. If you can time it to ride either one of those during Wishes, it's pretty awesome.
::yes:: I agree with both! I wasn't able to time it for Wishes, but I've definitely done it before!

I love the character meet and greets from your night, so cute!!
THanks!

Excellent! I love it when they take their time with the kids.
::yes:: Especially if you're paying the cost or the 2 dining credits for a meal at CRT. They'd darn well better make it worthwhile!!!! :lmao:

It's ok, buddy. Your secret is safe with me, and the other thousands of people on the DISboards.
:rotfl2: He'll get over it.

Because of all the red, I guess?:confused3
That's all I could figure. It just seemed totally random and out of the blue though at the time.

Nice! Glad it was such a good experience.
It was!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Reminds me of the story of John Wayne going to the bathroom. He comes out all soaking wet, and his buddy asks what happened. He says, "Well, I went to the urinal, and all of a sudden everybody around me was turning towards me and saying, 'It's John Wayne!' 'John Wayne!'"
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I see you are quite the gambling man there.:scared1:
Thankfully it worked out!

How cool is that??
Pretty awesome! Especially since it was Phineas and Ferb!

Well, yes. Yes, you do. Better get that remedied.
::yes::

NOOO!!!! Come on, one more ride!
Again.. don't have to twist my arm.

::yes:: Especially Disney clothes. I've noticed they either shrink a lot or make them small. I've started going a size larger when I buy clothing there. Also, I'm fatter than I used to be.
Hmmmm... Funny, I seem to have that problem too.

For your time-traveling needs.
If we're not at Disney now, that must mean we're at Disney next year. Hmmm... well, if that's the case, do we get 2 trips for the price of 1? :rolleyes1

:headache: Next time, kick an old lady out of her seat.
I might do that. It would totally have been worth turning in my DDC number. :lmao:

What's up with that grumpy character in the background?! ;):lmao:

Oh my gosh, so much cuteness in this picture! DD is seriously a doll.
Wow you had some pretty amazing character interactions! Your right, i've heard both bad and good things about CRT. Glad it was a hit for you guys!

Lots of urine related posts lately!:rotfl2:Even though his apporach was a little creepy, I could see how people ccould be hiding out in the bathrooms waiting for the shows to be starting without a ticket.

Great picture with Mary, Bert and the Penguin!

Yikes, the ride home didn't sound like much fun. Now I see why you really hate buses while holding a stroller.

I got really behind on my replies to people's TRs. I always do this. I read from my phone and hate posting from it, next thing you know two or three updates go by and I haven't posted anything!
::yes:: Been there, done that.

Poor DS. I hope he eventually gets over his fear.
I'm sure he will. Eventually...

I've heard that they have temporary stands or carts or something selling items you'd normally get from Flame Tree near where the restaurant is. I can't confirm it, but that might be a possibility. :confused3

What an adorable Princess picture!
Thanks!

This is pretty much the reason that you go to CRT, not the food.
::yes::

I'm going to go with everyone else and say it's the red shirt. At least she didn't tell you that you were the first one in the landing party who would be killed! :lmao:
I guess that's one way to look at it. :lmao:

I'm glad this worked out so well for you!
I am too. It was hard to pull the trigger on that one!

OK, that's just downright creepy and weird.
It was definitely odd. It wasn't like he tapped me on the shoulder and asked to see it, so I wouldn't really call it creepy. It was just very odd, and I'm not sure he realized how bad it sounded when he was walking around asking to see the bands.

Yeah, I knew it would turn, and I thought I was good, but I just didn't quite notice the stroller didn't completely fit on the same panel I was standing on. I'll definitely pay closer attention next time.

It was really a great evening, overall!

I've gotta say, when I read the title of your thread, a probably-drunk boat driver crashing you into the dock wasn't what I was thinking! lol What a crazy experience!
I don't have enough evidence to say that he was drunk... but I'm pretty sure he got tested! :lmao:

Sorry about the service at Restaurantosaurus. We enjoy eating there, but I would be pissed off at that kind of service.
Yeah, it was partly your reviews of the place that made me want to try it. So I blame you.

Seriously though, the food was good, and I really think that kind of service can happen anywhere, unfortunately. On average the service across WDW just doesn't seem to be what it once was.

At least CRT was a hit! DD looks like she is just in heaven with all of the princesses. Aside from the restroom wristband flashing, it sounds like the party was great. So many special characters!
She loved seeing her princesses!

We had a great evening. I always love the parties. A lot of time it feels like we don't get our money's worth out of them, but when you consider the fact that we saw the special parade, fireworks and got so many character meets in... it wasn't too bad. The only thing I would have liked to have done that we didn't was see the castle show.

Didn't realize that I missed your last update. I probably started to read and then forgot to comment.
Yeah... I've never done that... :rolleyes1

I can't even cut and paste my favorite picture of the kids because they are all so good. I'm so glad you enjoyed CRT. Cynthia and I sat in the same general location and it was lovely. I am sure it was wonderful watching the sun set. Awesome pictures of the kids with the princesses.
Thanks!!!

I really loved the location of our table. Quite frankly, if we go back, I know I'll be disappointed if we sit anywhere else.:lmao:

Wow. Just Wow on the whole checking the wristband even in the rest room. For real? I can just see a CM saying, "I am sorry but you can't use the urinal without a wristband". :rotfl2:
I really think the guy was just supposed to check the restroom for people hiding and maybe got a little carried away. The look on his face when I responded to his request made it pretty clear that he didn't mean it the way it sounded. :lmao:

You may have only taken a handfull of pictures of the parade, but they all turned out great. That picture of Mickey is great.
I didn't take any, DW did. But thanks!

Your kids did great for such a long night.
They really did. I wasn't sure how it would play out when DD wanted to go to sleep before the fireworks, but they did great!

Checking wristbands in bathrooms = CREEPY. Think someone was taking their job a little too seriosly.
Yeah, definitely going above and beyond. :lmao:

CRT looks great. Your daughter in her dress is just too adorable.
We had a great meal. Thanks!

Love the Santa goofy pic. I've never seen too many xmas party pics, so I didn't even know he was there.
Yes, they actually have Santa Goofy as well as Minnie and Donald dressed for the season. We didn't see them though because the lines were considerably longer. Goofy was just hanging out in the stroller area next to Barnstormer so I don't think he was as noticeable as the other characters out in the middle of the open area in Storybook Circus.

Sounds like a nice morning in AK! Tat's great that your DS tried EE. We didn't go to AK in Oct so Reid still hasn't tried that ride but I'm going to make sure we change that in April!
I hope he enjoys it!

Sorry the service was so terrible for lunch. At least the food wasn't awful, too.
::yes:: The food was fine. Just wish we could have gotten it quicker.

The dinner at CRT sounds like a wonderful way to start off the party night. The comment from Ariel to you is quite bizarre but funny.
It definitely caught me off guard. She was talking to DS and just said that out of the blue. Our dinner at CRT was great though.

The bathroom CM checking wristbands is just super creepy. I mean, couldn't he check bands as people came in or out?
That was exactly what I was thinking. I guess I understand maybe making a quick walk through just to see that nobody is just hanging out in there hiding, but just stationing someone near the door before the parade starts seems like it should be adequate.

Sounds like y'all had a very fun night!!
It was great!
What's up with that grumpy character in the background?! ;):lmao:
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Good find. I didn't even catch that one.

Oh my gosh, so much cuteness in this picture! DD is seriously a doll.
Wow you had some pretty amazing character interactions! Your right, i've heard both bad and good things about CRT. Glad it was a hit for you guys!
Thanks! I'd heard mixed reviews too, but we seriously can't complain about anything.

Except the price tag... :faint:

Lots of urine related posts lately!:rotfl2:Even though his apporach was a little creepy, I could see how people ccould be hiding out in the bathrooms waiting for the shows to be starting without a ticket.
Sorry. I think the potty humor is now finished.

Yeah, I'm sure people have tried hiding out to see the parade, so I understand checking it out. I really don't think it registered to him how it sounded when he was walking around asking to see wristbands.

Great picture with Mary, Bert and the Penguin!
Thanks!

Yikes, the ride home didn't sound like much fun. Now I see why you really hate buses while holding a stroller.
Yeah, I definitely prefer to drive when we can, just because it is so much easier. But sometimes, it just makes more sense to ride the bus to MK. This was the last bus ride of the trip though. :faint:

Great up date. I can appreciate your view on Lion King. Go see it when the kids are older or you are sans kids. It is one of my favorite shows however waiting can be difficult and it is a long show for children the age of yours. Great pictures. I have to agree with you though a mid day nap is a necessity at WDW if you want to catch any nighttime magic

I made a comment before I realized I had two more pages to get through. Love DD's dress for the evening. I am glad that you enjoyed CRT. We did too, very much but not as much as California Grill or Jiko!:jumping1:The Pics with all the princesses are very good. I would have loved to see pics of the dance a long with P and P. I bet that was cute. Sounds like you had a great evening at the party.:santa:

And here I'd have thought that she would've said that you remind her of Sebastian only more crabby!? ;)

Looks like a nice time at Cindy's table, and your kids were at the perfect age so totally worth it.

Your wife really took some nice pictures of the parade. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing! Your kids are about the same age as mine will be this trip - excited to hear how it worked out for you guys. Looking forward to following along the rest of the trip!

Who’s Afraid of the Disco Yeti?

We woke up early Tuesday morning. Yes, we’d had a late night in MK, but we made the right call to get out of there well before the closing time at midnight. We had big plans for today, so we had to get moving!

Our destination for the day was AK. And in an unlikely change of events, we were parked and standing in line at the turnstiles a good 20 minutes before they started letting people in. A gentleman and his daughter in line next to us started chatting with us. Turned out they live about 30 miles away from us. She was a senior in high school and they had just planned a last minute father daughter trip right after she finished her finals and they flew down to go to the parks for 4 days. They were nice and we enjoyed chatting with them for a bit before we got into the park.

Once we were in the park, our first destination of the day was Expedition Everest. We headed over and I was planning to grab a rider switch pass and let everyone ride, but I went to park the stroller and in the time it took me to do that, they’d already got into the line. So DD and I stood outside and waited. DS did go ride this one with them. He was feeling a little bit taller and managed to meet the 42” requirement.

DD and I stood outside watching as the cars went past, and when we saw our group riding, we headed into the gift shop to meet them.

DS was being carried out by FiL.

And had no interest in being put down.

I had told him that there was a Yeti before he rode. Again, trying to at least make sure there are no surprises. We even showed him the video on Youtube. But when he saw the silhouette of the Yeti on the wall tearing out the track, that was apparently it. He was done and wanted out of there.

I asked him if he wanted to ride again, even though I knew the answer. DW and I instead headed into the queue. Despite not having a rider switch pass, we still only waited maybe 5 minutes.

AK_EXPEDITIONEVERESTRIDE_7125880294.jpeg
On our way out of Asia, we stopped and bought a small stuffed Yeti for DS as a reminder that he rode a scary ride and survived it. He loves his little Yeti, and I think he’s proud of himself now, but he made sure that it was perfectly clear that he didn’t want to ride any more rides with a Yeti in them.

Our first FP+ for the day was for the safari, so when we finished up at EE, we made our way over to Africa. It was no time at all before we were on a truck and enjoying our safari.

And look! We actually have an attraction that has some photographic evidence!!!!

When we got back to civilization, we started to get the stroller, but a CM was standing there directing people over to the gorilla habitat near the exit. We didn’t get to see any babies, but there were a couple of mature gorillas out playing and putting on a bit of a show. We stood and watched them for a while, but it was getting close to time for our next FP+, so we had to get going.

After a quick restroom break, we were off to do a new attraction for us… Festival of the Lion King.

I have to say, it was a good show. I’m definitely glad I finally saw it. I might be villified for saying this, but it didn’t really live up to the hype, to me. Don’t get me wrong, we enjoyed it, but I don’t think it is something that we’ll need to do every trip, by any means.

But part of my opinion may be a little bit clouded because of the kids. They weren’t into this show at all, and it was getting a little frustrating trying to keep them distracted. It reached a point where I just wanted the show to end so we could get out of there and move on to something else. I think anybody who is a parent, can totally relate to this.

When the show ended, I went to get the stroller and met everyone else next to Tusker House to load the kids back up and head off to our next adventure. Nobody was really in the mood to walk the animal trails, and it was just about time for the restaurants to open for lunch. We decided since we wanted to take a long break, we’d just grab some lunch and then probably head out of the park.

Our usual lunch spot in AK is Flame Tree BBQ. But that is also the only place I’ve ever had lunch at AK. We thought we’d change it up and try something different. I always thought that Dinoland was a fun area, so we headed over there to check out Restaurantosaurus. It just made sense because we also had FP+ for Dinosaur if we felt like riding after lunch.

And let me just say, this turned out to be a mistake. Wow…. Definitely should have stuck with Flame Tree.

We were in the restaurant early in the day. It hadn’t been open for lunch more than 15 minutes or so. There was hardly anyone in there at all. But the service left something to be desired.
When the CM gave me our tray, there was no drink for the kids meal. I pointed it out and he turned to go get it for us. At this point, I figured I should take inventory of our tray. I found that they also left off a dessert, and they didn’t put any fries in the bucket with the kids meal. I pointed this out to the CM manning the line and he grabbed our dessert and went to the meal prep area and asked for an order of fries.

Apparently, it takes a direct order from Mickey Mouse himself to get an order filled that isn’t given to them through the automated system. The CM helping me kept asking for another order of fries. The guy who was putting the orders together told him he couldn’t do it. A manager came over to the CM helping me and told him to forget about it and get filled trays to other customers. I don’t know if they thought someone was just asking for a side of fries that wasn’t actually paid for or what, but the CM helping me seemed to be the only one interested in filling our order. The manager never came and talked to me, but I heard her comment and I might have taken it the wrong way. Either way, I was determined to stand in that spot and hold up a line if I had to until I had my full order on my tray. I might have been “one of those guests” at that point in time to others behind me… Although, I never resorted to rudeness or name calling or anything like that. And I was still polite with the CM the whole time.

I promise.

Eventually, the trays started stacking up on the counter, because the CM helping me was appareantly taking the same passive aggressive stance I took and refused to move until they gave him the fries he’d asked for about 900 times. Once he finally got them, he put them on my tray, I smiled, said thank you and went to find a seat.

I have a hard time picking on the CM who was helping me. He was earning his ears and you could see he was visibly flustered by everything. He was nothing but polite and kind to me, so I certainly appreciated his effort. In the end, he did take care of me, but it was a much longer process to get our food than it should have been.

I found everyone else sitting at a table. MiL and FiL had gone to another line and I think they were about half done eating by the time I got there. The meal itself though, wasn’t bad at all. I had a burger, which I enjoyed. It was definitely on par with Pecos Bills and they had a small toppings bar in there as well. I think we all enjoyed our meals, and DS loved getting a bucket and shovel, but the service definitely made us wish we had gone somewhere else for lunch.

After we finished eating, we headed off to ride Dinosaur. We had FP+ so MiL and FiL went to ride first while we kept the kids occupied. DD was getting antsy so we thought of taking the kids to ride the prehistoric Dumbo, but we were also afraid to leave MiL and FiL to have to look for us when they got off the ride, so we stayed and waited. Thankfully it didn’t take long at all. Then DW and I completed the hand off and went in to ride.

AK_DINOSAURRIDE_7126149364.jpeg

DW is somewhere in that seat next to me... I'm not sure she looked up that entire ride.

When we came out, the kids were just being whiny and grumpy and clearly needed naps. We decided to call it a day at AK and head back to AoA for a nice long break before our evening at MK. AK definitely lived up to its half day reputation for us, as we were out of there by just after noon.

We got back to the resort and just like the day before, everyone, including me, laid down to take a nap. I think we all slept at least a couple of hours. And we'd need it for this evening!

My 7yo DD will ride ANYTHING, but to this date, she is STILL apprehensive about EE b\c of the Yeti. She's a pretty logical kid, but for some reasons, she is suspect of the animatronic Yeti. My DD7 will ride, but either my DW or I are sitting out for round 2 and the other rides with my oldest DD10. So when we get to AK early in the AM and have the opportunity to ride multiple times without a wait, one of us is usually hanging with DD7 checking out stuff in the gift shop!

re: the Festival of the Lion King, you have to see it at least once and I do think over time the hype has almost made it impossible for it to meet the expectations of viewers (my self included). And my kids, they've seen the show a few times and for the past several trips, they've shown zero interest in seeing it again.

On the way out we thought we’d try to see the Swiss Family Tree House though. DW had never been on it and it had been years since I had. I can’t say that I missed it, but it was nice to walk through and check it out.

We did get yelled at by some lady as we were approaching the entrance. Obviously, there was no line… we walked up to the entrance and started to walk in, but she yelled at us for cutting…

She was standing several feet back from the entrance waiting on someone to join her group so they could go in and she apparently felt like we were cutting. You know, since there were maybe already 20 in the attraction, I guess the thought of 6 more in front of her group was just unbearable, so let’s just create a log jam here in the middle of the walkway at the entrance. I really didn’t care and we had the kids so I knew we’d be slow so I let her go, but seriously, whatever… Can you say Beeotch?

I know I did. :rolleyes1

I'm so glad you did!! LOL!! Love your report...this is my favorite part! Can we be friends? :worship:

Geez I am seriously behind... putting a marker here that I need to start at the top of page (gulp)14

Although the new way you quote does make it easier when responding to TRs. :)

We drove to the TTC and naturally, when we arrived we found that the monorail wasn’t open yet.
Figures. There has been some serious monorail problems this year.

We were headed for Fantasyland so we decided to walk through the castle, which DD absolutely loved. She said it was “boofyful.”
I guess better than being boobyful.

I was ready to hit the ground running, but DW said we needed a restroom break.
Wow, sounds like our mornings when we enter the park.

I walked into the wardrobe room and found DS standing front and center with the other kids… but DD was nowhere to be seen.

Panic set in.
That has happened to us too... not there but the playground in DHS. Scary stuff.

The kids enjoyed IASW as always. I think MiL and FiL were also kind of excited to have finally seen the Disney classic. But FiL did comment several times later in the day that he just couldn’t get the song out of his head. We’d be walking along and I’d hear him start humming it.
LOL... love this!!!!

So is he a fan or a hater?

After that, it was time to leave. Our original plan was to eat an early lunch and leave the park right away. Clearly we failed, so we weren’t going to get much of a break. We exited the park and hopped on a monorail back to the TTC. We drove back to AoA and by the time we returned it was nearly 1 pm. There wouldn’t be time to nap, because we’d only have about an hour before we’d have to turn around and leave.

We had an ADR at 3pm.
Annnnnnnd this is why I get scared to leave a park in the middle of the day.

In the short time that we were driving from AoA to EPCOT, DD finally decided she was tired and fell asleep.
Juliana was the queen of this. She'd fight falling asleep till we were 5 minutes from home.

So I guess DS won’t do Princesses and DD won’t do anything but Princesses.
All the planning and then they do this... what can you do?

Cute picture!!! Glad he was enjoying the characters.

I wanted to make it a point to try to catch some of the shows in WS so we stopped in Canada for the movie.
Ummmm, can I made a confession here? We've never stopped to watch a movie in a country. Whew! Glad I got that off my chest.

By the way, our Narrator was Joe Morton.
Yea, everyone knows Joe Morton. He is the founder of this:

Just joined in tonight and am all caught up! I am loving your TR so far, looks like so much fun. You have a beautiful family, and your kids are so cute! seeing their excited faces in all of those pictures makes me smile.

That is so great you decided to stay at AoA. I am so excited looking at all your pictures as I will be staying there in a little over a month! So happy your family got upgraded - that's awesome! I am staying in a Nemo suite with my friends and love the style of the rooms.

I have always wanted to go to the world during Christmastime, and experience all the fun events, and your trip makes me more excited to experience it! I love all your Character pictures, meeting all those friendly faces is always so much fun. I am so happy you and your family enjoyed CRT! That is a meal I look forward to trying one day.

I can't wait to read more of your TR!

Ok, I never realized it was that big of a deal to meet all 3 until I saw all the reactions. I guess they aren't really characters we seek out, since our kids aren't too familiar with them, so it was just a right place, right time thing.
Okay - none of my business, but I just thought I would share. Until reading TRs on this board, I never thought about the Mary Poppins movie for Willow - it really wasn't one that I remembered seeing as a kid (and I don't think I did). Because of this place, I ended up buying the DVD for Willow some years ago, and I'm so glad I did. The story and the MUSIC are so great - kids just love it. Willow still enjoys it (although not as obsessively as she did a few years ago) - it would make for a great Christmas present for DD and DS. ;)
