Sorry, but trying to learn. What are the abbreviations next to names? DS, DD, DH etc...
BTW annedoodle
Don't have a cabin ## assigned yet. Paid 2 weeks ago, but travel agent said not assigned. Believe on deck 2 though

I think (no expert here) that DH stands for darling husband, DS - darling son DD - darling daughter

Sorry I haven't responded to any of your questions any earlier, but it has been QUITE a week and it left very little to no time for the DISboards. :scared1:

Okey dokey....

Palo is a dinner at 7 (I think). The food looks amazing! Yum yum!

Palo really is a great restaurant - their cuisine comes pretty close to the real Italian fare (I mean the one in the country in Europe. ;)) Are you doing brunch as well? It is AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2

As far as fish extenders, I am still doing some research to be certain I am within "guidelines". But I think this will be fabulous! As a seasoned cruiser, what sort of item do you love?

Any item you give will be okay. Some people buy stuff, others make their own gift (we do) and what always is a winner are things from your area or home town/country. Also candy from your area is a good idea.

I also have another question (I warned you that this vacation is all I can think about :rotfl2:) has anyone had any experience with the 18-21 crowd gatherings. My college boy was wondering if he was going to have activities of his own or should he plan to join us in ours (ship activities, not excursions).

Sorry, I am no help here. :(

And another one.... Does the Magic give out that free wifi package I see glimpses of every now and then? Or is that on another boat? I want to unplug as much as possible, but I know DH will need to be in contact with work occassionally.

There actually is a 50 MB free package that is only available on day 1. But I have to warn you, it will be gone VERY soon and won't last you all week, not even if you only read your email. Disney offers internet packages though.

I think I am done.... For now.

Can I confess? I was so excited to find this message board, I had no idea it existed until this weekend. Now I feel like I have a home base to meet my cruising family and ask all my silly questions.

:wave2:

There are NO silly questions. ;) And I am glad you found the DISboards - there is so much information on here. It takes a while to find your way around, but once you have got the hang of it, you will learn A LOT!!! :thumbsup2

HI!!

We are getting so excited about the cruise! My parents are traveling with us as well and would like to be included in the FE.

Dan & Marianne Czarnecki in cabin #2562

We are the Morans in Cabin #2564

Thanks!

I updated the list and will upload it once I finished replies! :thumbsup2

Taking my 8 year old 3rd grade daughter & really looking forward to the trip. I know there are all sorts of kid's activities, but my daughter is hesitant to take part. Shy at 1st, but opens up after making a friend or 2 or 3. Hoping to connect with others, who may have a daughter of similar age, 8 or 9, so that she will become more willing to take part in all the kid's activities. I know she'll enjoy things more that way.
New to this type thread, but perhaps somebody has suggestions.
Thanks

:welcome: to the DISboards and our cruise meet.

Take your daughter to the "open house" the first day and take her to the meet that we will have on the first day. I am sure there are lots more kids her age and once they get to know each other it will be easier for her to go to the clubs.

Counting down the days!!
My daughter is busy trying to perfect our FE, my 12 year old perfectionist!

Any of you participating have girls my Reds age? Would love to introduce them, as she is traveling with her disney parents, but i want her to have fun with her own age grouo too!! She is excited to take more drawing classes on board, loves the activities, but would be more fun to have someone or a few to pal around with to do!

Thanks all! Really excited for this one!

Just 8 more weeks ..... we will have single digits soon. :woohoo:

Hi Dizneeat-

I just wanted to be sure you got my request to add my parents (and our room number) to the FE - there has been a lot of message since I posted!
Katherine

Got them on the list! Just need to upload the new list once I am finished here. ;)

Thanks for signing up for the FE! I put you on the list and will upload the new one in a few minutes. :thumbsup2

This is my family's first Disney cruise and all 4 of us would like to be a part of the fish extenders.

:welcome: to the DISboards and to our cruise meet thread.

You are going to love cruising with Disney and a cruise that stops at Castaway Cay is just wonderful.

I will put you on the FE list once you give me all the information needed. (First names of everyone in your stateroom, ages of any kids in the room and your stateroom number)

Can anyone tell me what I need to go sign up for at the guest services desk (for on0boat activities)- is there a princess tea? the Disney behind-the-scenes seminars?

Are there additional costs? Does anyone have something they have done on a previous cruise they REALLY enjoyed?

Thanks!! I can't get enough Disney cruise planning right now!

Katherine

You sign up for any tastings they offer (wine, champagne, chocolate ...) Don't know if there is a princess tea as we travel without kids and have no interest in it.
There are no behind the scenes seminars. They offer a few tours around the ship, which you sign up for at guest services, but you actually do not go behind the scenes, it is all onstage. The only thing that takes you backstage is the galley tour.

Check your personal navigator for the tours.

Tastings come at a cost, I think it was 15 or 20$ per person.
We have been on the Magic in August and were not impressed with the ship. I guess we have been spoiled by the Dream class ships, which we love.

Something you might enjoy are the shows they offer nightly. They are really spectacular.

One of my daughters is 9 and in third grade. This is her 5th disney cruise-been cruising since she was 2! She loves the kids clubs-have a hard time getting her to leave! Maybe the two of them can meet up sometime.

Does the Magic have ipod docking stations in the staterooms? It is listed as an amenity on the Dream class but not on Magic.

Just signed up for this cruise last week aboard the Fantasy. This will be our 12th Disney cruise. Four of us will be on board: me, my dw, and our son and daughter in law. They were married on Castaway Cay last year, and this will be their one year anniversary cruise.

To be honest, I don't know. I asked Tom and he "thinks" that there might be one on the radio alarm clock. But we both could be wrong.:confused3

Yeah, another multi DCL cruiser - guess we will see you at the Castaway Club reception - this will be our 15th cruise. :rolleyes1

And your son and daughter in law got married on CC? That is AWESOME!!! We have seen quite a few weddings on the ship and CC and they are always so romantic.

Would love to have my daughter meet both Annedoodle's daughter & your daughter. Since you have experience with these cruises, how do we arrange it?
I've cruised a couple times with my daughter on shorter cruises & she's been resistant to the clubs. This will be our 1st Disney cruise & if she meets a couple girls, whose company she enjoys, I'm sure it will make the cruise that much more enjoyable for her.
Thanks for any help. She is timid at 1st, but can be very sociable. Prefers staying after school to play with friends, rather than being picked up early. That type kid.
I know I asked my travel agent to see if she could inquire as to having us sit with other people with similar age girls at dinner, but don't know if they can accommodate that type request. Wouldn't have these questions if I was going a week later, since a group of about 20 people I know is taking this trip the following week. Unfortunately, my daughter's week off from school isn't the same as that group's school schedule.
Again, appreciate the help.

Great that you will be on this cruise as well. You are going to love the DISboards, there is such an awesome wealth of information on here. And just feel free to ask here if you have a question, this will be our 15th cruise, so I might be able to answer some questions and I guess others will pipe in if I can't. :thumbsup2

No problem about the PM, you gave me all the information I need and I just put you on the FE list and uploaded it. Please take a moment and check if the information is correct. The FE list is in the first post right above the photo of the FE.

The FE is still open and since I now have all your information I put you on the list right away. You might have missed my answer to your first post - it is in post 146.
What to do next? Hope that time goes by quickly until our cruise. ;) And as far as the FE goes - cut off is on February 15, then I will post the complete list here, together with a deckplan with all the marked staterooms to save you time walking around the ship handing out your gifts. :jumping3:
