Oh man, this new forum is going to take some getting used to.

BLEH! Gotta be an easier way to do multi quotes.

What a great evening! Glad dinner turned out delicious. And what fun that your dad wanted to go into the parks! Hooray for adding the extra day earlier. And totol bonus on the EMH. I absolutely love those dark rides in Fantasyland!

YAY dad! It was so much fun to go on all the dark rides, I got such a kick out of them and had it not been for Dad I imagine Eric would not have been quite so game for them so it was a treat.

I loved Mr. Toad when I was a kid, and I tried so hard to get my kids to ride it when we were there...but they were more interested in the headliners. Makes me sad...especially because, as Andy pointed out, I'm shocked the ending to that ride still exists! :rotfl2:

I was so thrilled to go on it, especially with my Dad. Had it been a different day, different cast of characters I can totally see the kids pushing back. I'm glad they haven't mucked with it. I would do a thumbs up but can't seem to find the emoticon. Oh wait, there it is, never mind, this one seems more appropriate anyway as I navigate this odd new forum.o_O

I totally get where you're coming from!

Agreed! So much better!

Totally agree there too! And again, it seemed like it was the best version of this ride.

It was a perfect night all around!

I LOVE Mr. Toad. One of my favorite memories was riding with my mom and her reaction to the ending. She just broke out in a fit of giggles and we had many rides to HE**. :rotfl2: So unexpected yet the best part!!!! :rotfl2:

It is a riot, I am so glad they have left it alone.

Fantastic meal at Storytellers. Shame they removed some items from the menu.
YAY for extra time in the park and bonus to have the extra hour.
Great rides! I love them all at DLR. Always the best.

It is a shame, I would order both of those again. It seems to be such a trend overall with really small, limited menus. Not a trend I like.

It was a fun evening!

Storytellers is a good solid choice. We ate there in March. I think we did the buffet, but we really liked it. I'm glad you got in without an ADR.

I haven't been on those FL rides in ages! We're going to be out there later this week, maybe I should try to gets on some of the rides I rarely go on!

How fun that you guys closed the park and got to ride BTMRR at night!

Muliquotes: hit the + Quote button on the right bottom corner for every post you want to quote and then go to the reply field at the bottom of the page. There you will have an Insert Quotes button on the left bottom. Hit that and then you can choose the ranking of the quotes. Supposedly you should also be able to highlight the text that you want to quote and then there will be an option to add that text as a quote, but I can't verify that it works as it should right now as I am on my ipad... hope this helps!

I was glad we were able to get in too, it worked out well, the whole evening really did. A great end to the day. You should hit some of the FL rides, it's so easy to skip them but such a fun memory ride if you do them.

Oh I figured out how to do it, it just wasn't as easy as it seemed before. Since then I realized you can hit reply in one post, and then again in another one and it will do the same thing, auto inserting it into the "reply" in the order you click replay if that makes sense. I've not seen that insert quote button, that seemed like it was the multi but maybe it isn't.

Actually seems a little easier in some way. They did seem to remove the "quote" function from the toolbar which is a little annoying. Obviously one can cut and paste it but that was easy. I've also noticed that it no longer likes the ridiculous image code photo bucket generates, it really only needs half of it so that's going to change how I write my TR's in word before posting. I'm sure I will figure it out, it is just different. I don't care for it on the mobile now though, that will be a bigger adjustment.

I've never been to Story Tellers I had it booked one time and got a message they had to close the restaurant due to a flood. I didn't really feel like booking another restaurant then though so just went with counter service later in the evning

I probably would have done the same thing at that point. Hopefully you get another chance!

According to my photos, it would appear after our late night, we had a lazy morning.

This is of course, how I spent mine

Honestly, it’s a bit of a blank but for whatever reason I have no idea what we did that morning!

We did head into DL for lunch. I think it took us a while to get organized with the scooter, we returned and exchanged DVD’s and honestly, who knows!

I believe we may have done some browsing on our way in but we did not hit any rides. We were headed here

Dad seemed to enjoy it

We LOVED our lunch. Or at least I did. I could eat there repeatedly.

Our first order of business in our sight

Finding where the heck to park the scooter was interesting here.

So very different than WDW but so very suited to New Orleans Square

Next on the want to do list was Splash.

Which had an unbearable wait.

Since this was nearby, why not?

IMG_0361.jpg

That’s a honey pot if you can’t tell.

Except they weren’t moving.

The ride had broken

We decided to wait. I had to meet Evan soon for the handoff and there really wasn’t enough time to get in a different line.

And waited

And waited

And eventually

I had to go

The park was PACKED

I had never had one before!

YUM!

I was a little bit ahead of schedule. While the meeting time at the hotel wasn't until 3:15, for some reason that made no sense to me, we were also supposed to meet the kids at guest services first.

IMG_0370.jpg

I stopped in the galley by the entry to quickly see what they had, I was on an art mission. I really liked these. Jeff, (who I texted them to) not so much. The boys didn't really like them either which also surprised me. What do I know?

I then headed to guest services and hung out FOREVER waiting for all the kids to assemble so the march back to the hotel could commence.

I hung around taking pictures of kids sitting and standing around (not terribly interesting) and taking super boring photos like this

Evan looks thrilled to see me huh?

The whole thing took almost 2 hours, between standing around with the kids, walking to the Fairfield inn, waiting until Evan could be checked out, having him get his luggage, walking it back and up to the room and with that, it was time to hook up with the rest of the crew!

Lazy mornings on vacation are the best thing.

I love the look of your lunch - all three meals look very yummy - guess I would have gone with the corn chowder.

The HM looks so nice and yes, so different, .......... and I am all caught up again now!

Yippie, and you snuck in another update!
Waiting around is never fun ..... but at least your family was complete again.

That looks amazingly busy!!!

Lovely lunch.
YAY for having the whole family together.

Bat signal for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. New girls TR is up from my trip last May for hte Flower and Garden Festival with Mary Ellen!

Oh, Florida.....

Hope you can join us!

Your lunch at the French Market looked incredible. Love your dad's French Dip Po' Boy!!! We got the Clam Chowder bread bowl from there (or near there) which was good. This would have been a much better alternative to Blue Bayou on our first day.

I love the pictures of Eric and the one of your dad at the table.

Beautiful pictures taken in the Haunted Mansion queue.

I can't believe the crowds!!!

I can believe the issue with long lines and breakdowns. We totally found that during our trip.

First Dole Whip float? Not your last...

:goodvibes

The French market looks like a great place for a meal! We only got the beignets from that area.

And the crowds look really bad. We did see some high level crowds as well, but not nearly as bad as you did.

Sorry that the whole process of getting your kid back was so complicated. What would they have done if you had not appeared at guest services, only at the hotel? Taken him back home with them??

I love those drawings/paintings. Whimsical and cute!

Did you like the dole float? Is it a float or a whip? I can't remember but they're so tasty.

Those crowds do not look pleasant.

Honestly, it’s a bit of a blank but for whatever reason I have no idea what we did that morning!

Just make something up! That's what I do. :rolleyes1

Market French Dip Po' Boy Sandwich

thinly sliced Slow-roasted Beef with Crispy Onion Straws on a Potato Roll with a side of Handmade Cajun Chips and Au Jus

That looks fantastic! I know what I'm ordering when I get there.

Or was just being really silly!

It sure beats being grumpy!

And waited

And waited

And eventually

I had to go

Holy crowds, Batman. We had a similar experience--I remember Alison saying she'd never seen the line for Pirates so long.

I had never had one before!

Really?? Never had a Dole Whip before? I'm kinda shocked by that. Glad you enjoyed it!

Evan looks thrilled to see me huh?

:faint: Seems like a good portion of the day burned up already.

I've recently become a fan of the French Market. The last time I ate there (before last year), it was operated by Stouffer's. But I had two solid lunches there last year and look forward to eating there again a few times this year.

Haunted Mansion is always fun. I'm looking forward to riding the original version again, its had the overlay for my last three visits so it will be nice to see the original again. Sorry about the wait for Splash and that Pooh was down.

Wow! I can't believe it took two hours to get it together and get Evan back with you. Really? No one liked the steam punk art! We have the figures and quite a few of the framed art pieces.

Congrats on your first Dole Whip! I confess that I only had my first one in the last couple years. I didn't even know they existed, but so many people on the boards raved about them I had to solve the mystery. I think it was at WDW where I tried my first one. The line at DL is always so long.

Catching back up...stupid board upgrade. Lunch looks delicious! Eric is such a goof. I love HM...one of the best rides at Disney!

Naturally!

Either way, he had a smile on his face. At least I think that's what it was...

I assume that is Pooh? We never even saw that area of the park. They had Critter Country completely walled off as if it didn't even exist.

And it was warm! As I made my way out, I decided to make a stop
You stopped there as crowded as it was??? I never even stopped there on our trip because every time I saw the line my desire for a Dole Whip subsided considerably.

I stopped in the galley by the entry to quickly see what they had, I was on an art mission. I really liked these. Jeff, (who I texted them to) not so much. The boys didn't really like them either which also surprised me. What do I know?
They look cool. Kind of steam punkish though so.

Evan looks thrilled to see me huh?
:rotfl::lmao: Great, I've been having fun with my friends all week and now I have to go with mom.

Wow. That's one way to kill an afternoon. :faint:
