Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Great timing with he showers and getting to dinner just in time to be seated. Your entrees look great. The lasagne looks really interesting. It almost looks like dessert. Yum!

Cool Happy Birthday Wishes!

When we were in DTD in May the buses were pretty crazy like that. I had no idea which line to get in and actually got in the wrong one at first. :faint:

Hunter gets Fliked on at Planet Hollywood!

Before going to put our order in, the waiter told us to watch out for a special message just for Hunter....
While we were eating, we heard an announcement and this appeared on the huge screen on the restaurant wall.

Hunter got Flicked on at Planet Hollywood!

Awww that is awesome!! I love birthday celebrations at Disney World.

Our younger daughter turned 3 on our last day at Disney World in September. She was put up on the big screen as Boo during Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor! The character said, "and here's Boo! Boo, do you know how to play Peek-a-Boo??" and my DD covered her eyes with her hands right on (surprise) cue! It was so sweet. Unfortunately it all happened so fast and spontaneously that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of her up on the big screen! Hopefully we will be able to hold on to that memory in just our heads!

We also passed the Stepmother and Stepsisters earlier in the day, and upon seeing her birthday pin, the one sister remarked (perfectly in character) to DD, "Happy Birthday, YOU!" DD was startled but stammered a polite "thank you".
:goodvibes

Also, all of Shutters serenaded her "Happy Birthday" at the end of our dinner the one night. Didn't have my camera ready at those moments either. :faint:

wow those meals look great! the only things I ahve ordered at Planet Hollywood are burgers (they are GREAT!!!), chicken sandwiches. or appetizers.

the thing is when we book a package 9and get the voucher) we are on the DDP. and we have a ahrd time fitting in all the mealas as it is! (evenwith usin dsome signature restaurants!)

and when we are there with a room only discount, we don't get the voucher! I wish we could save our fall voucher to use on our spring trips! (boy, now I sound cheap) in my defense I would like to add that whatever voucher.coupn I hve I always tip on the full amount BEFORE the discount!!! (20% or more.. there, got my waitress plug in there.. lol)

Hunter looks like he is having SO much fun!! how neat. aren't you just looking forward to the day when you go to WDW with hunter, his wife and the grand kids?? (I nkow,, don't rush things!! lol)

Oh man, DTD is such a mess! And every time I went last year it was different which made it even more confusing.

Planet Hollywood looks good. I haven't made it there yet since there are so many restaurants to try at WDW. Someday... Very cool though that they recognized Hunter's birthday.

I've never noticed that Mickey head made of lights. I'll have to keep my eye open next time I'm down there.

I'll be so glad when DTD is done and the walls are gone.

You should try to work Planet Hollywood into your ADR restaurant list. The food is really good.

Buzz looks like he's getting a little handsy there. :rotfl2:

We stopped at that same Starbucks, in October, they had a really good Pumpkin Latte.

AAAnnnnddd I'm officially caught up. :yay:

Buzz looks like he was trying to give Hunter a squeeze. :rotfl:

Yay for being caught up! I tried doing that yesterday afternoon and just when I thought that I had, I would see another report that I had missed.

Sounds like a great birthday dinner for Hunter. I like that he got "flicked". I hate to tell you but the madness at DTD was no better in September and I'm not sure how much better it will be when I get there at the beginning of May.

I'm with John...I can drink coffee all day long.

The lasagna is absolutely delicious! It's one of those dishes that you think about all the time and can't wait to have again.

We got in the wrong line at DTD too. That was before the castmembers were there to direct people in the right direction. It's just a confusing layout to me.

Awww, I love stories like those! It's Disney magic at it's very best. Believe me, you'll remember those moments even if you didn't get pictures. It's like the time when Hunter was still very young and he told the Green Army Men that he could do one arm push ups. They had the entire crowd watching him doing the push ups. We still remember that and talk about it every time we see a Green Army Man.

Nice birthday dinner for Hunter. We haven't been to PH in years. One of the things we really liked about POFQ was the boats to DTD.

I love your trip reports. I read a couple of your previous ones when I was thinking of booking CBR in '13, but I decided to go with Pop and extend our trip instead :) However, we are planning on CBR this year, so I'm back.

I love that Hunter got a birthday message at PH!

SO COOL!!!! I mean that is SO COOL!!! On a jumbo tron!!! excellent!
DTD was the worst when we went. they totally closed off the road by lego. It was fun to people watch as it was like people bumper cars once they got as far as the blockade!

Our (Chicago) Planet Hollywood closed a few years back i haven't had it in so long. Your food looks delish and wish it was still around!

However, given the walls of Downtown Disney looked like a maze set up for lab rats, making that walk was a little more difficult.

Did they have any cheese at the end?

In what seemed like short time, our entrees appeared at our table and they looked absolutely delicious. John ordered the L.A. Lasagna - A California twist to a classic lasagna! Fresh pasta tubes filled with ricotta cheese and bolognese meat sauce fried to a golden brown with garlic cream and tomato basil sauces

What's a "pasta tube"?

Anyway, all the food looks really good! I had never really heard good things about Planet Hollywood before.

When I was planning our trip, I had one extra table service meal booked and this was the meal that we were going to pay out of pocket for. I was going to use the $10 off voucher that came with our Magic Your Way Package but dumb bunny me forgot to bring it with me.

Don'tcha hate it when that happens! :headache:

When we left Planet Hollywood, we went to our right and came upon this guy playing a didgeridoo. We had seen him before and he was quite good so we stopped for a minute to watch him play.

One of the creators of Phineas & Ferb used a didgeridoo in a song. I saw a behind-the-scenes clip with him and he said, "A lot of people are down on the didgeridoo because it only plays one note. But if you think about it, every song contains at least one note."

:lmao::rotfl2:

Starbucks had recently opened a location there and John was in need of a good cup of coffee:

So why did he go to Starbucks? :confused3

:rotfl2: Kidding!

John is right. Coffee is for all times. :coffee: Especially on vacation. Even at work I usually end up with 3:00pm cup. Of course, some of that is because my office is an icebox. (although the Captain is right - if he needed a good cup of coffee, why'd he go to Starbucks?:lmao:)

Ugh -Downtown Disney Springs looks horrible. Not looking forward to spending much time there next trip.

No excuses necessary for taking your time posting. And some of us who haven't had time to DIS this week appreciate it since we are not finding ourselves too far behind!!!

:lmao:

We have never been in Planet Hollywood, but what neat mementos from movies. Love the Jurassic Park stuff since that is one of our favorite movies.

The food looks awesome too. John's LA Lasagna looks and sounds amazing and your fajitas also look fantastic. Yum, indeed!

What a cool announcement for Hunter's Birthday. Nice job getting a picture of it.

Looks like Buzz is giving Hunter a little goose on the rear! Maybe a pinch to grow an inch?

:goodvibes

That's awesome! I think I speak for us all when I say I would love to see pics of your early trips to Disney!!!! If you have prints that need scanned, I volunteer to scan them for you if you send them to me!! :flower3:

Did Buzz replace Cinderella and Aurora at Once Upon A Toy? When we went in 2009 we took pictures with their statues! Maybe it's a different entrance we didn't come across.

I just love getting e-mail updates that there are new posts to the thread. I have to say, honestly, this is my favorite trip report I have ever read! You have such a great personality and I just love all the photos.

Well, goodness. I read everything, but now I have forgotten. I thought I commented before I started working and now I've read too much MD stuff... AHH!!!!! :sad2:

Okay, well, I do remember that I loved the Dinosaur picture. Great use of what you already had! :good vibes

OH yeah!!! Hunter's birthday! He got Fliked! So sweet of them! I didn't know that they did that sort of thing! pixiedust:

Another great update :thumbsup2 That was a nice birthday surprise for your son. Planet Hollywood looks great.

DTD was a huge mess when we were there last March too.
You dinner looks really good. I always say I will go there and use out voucher but we have yet to go. I really need to take some more trips. :lmao:

I am glad you are going slow because I have been busy too.
