It will also be our first time at WDW during the holidays. Can't wait to see the parks all decorated. I would also like to know even though we are already booked for the BC. We will be staying there for 3 nights post cruise. I've stayed at the Swan and I REALLY like the location to Epcot and I hear it's walking distance from the BC\YC. Taking the boat in the evening was really nice.

Would you rather be a quick monorail ride from MK or walking distance from Epcot, DHS, and the Boardwalk area?

Other than that i would say GF has nicer rooms and Christmas decorations, while BC obviously has what most consider the nicest pool area on property.

I honestly love both monorail to MK and walking/boat to Epcot and DHS. Are the Christmas decorations nicer at GF? Which resort offers more during the holiday season? Thanks a bunch :)

We were at BC for our Christmas stay December 2013, and we absolutely LOVED it! To be honest, we spent a lot of time at Epcot and DHS, and truly enjoyed all there was to offer at the BC. The decorations were beautiful and the simplicity of being able to walk from two parks was such a relief. That time of year MK is most likely to fill to capacity (although last year I don't even believe it filled on Christmas day, but got pretty close), so being within walking distance from two parks is helpful so you don't have to rely on the busses for transportation. We ate Christmas dinner at Le Cellier and had Christmas breakfast at The Captain's Grille (we wanted to eat at Cape May but there were no reservations available, but I'm sure that would make a wonderful christmas morning experience!). If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Our Christmas Tree we brought down!

We stayed at the WL last Christmas, but I took photos of the GF and BC. Here's GF

I like the decorations at the grand Floridian better than the beach club, but I feel the grand Floridian may seem busier. I prefer the Epcot area resorts. I have points at the boardwalk and grand Floridian, but I like all the extra things you can do over in Epcot with holidays around the world. Also, you are just a short walk or boat ride over to Hollywood studios for the Osborne lights. Either one is a great choice, it just depends on if you think you'll spend more time at the MK or Epcot.

When we went, we arrived on Christmas Eve, and we left on January 2nd. At the time, we couldn't afford a deluxe hotel during holiday time. So, we stayed at the Music. But, in order to see all of the incredible decorations at the GF, BC, and YC, we ate dinner at their restaurants.

GF was my favorite of all.

I would choose the resort that is closest to the parks you will frequent most. Then, you can visit the other, eat at the restaurants, and take lots of photos.

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Now that we can afford it, we will be staying at a deluxe resort in August 2015. We had wanted the Polynesian, but with all of the refurbishments, we will most likely be staying at the Grand Floridian.

We've had two December trips, the first was at the BC and the second at the GF. All of the resorts are nicely decorated for the holidays, but between those two, I prefer the GF to the BC. The WL is my favorite at Christmas time, but the GF runs a close second. The GF lobby does get pretty busy as everyone visits to see the gingerbread house, but we found the BC to be busy as well with visitors to see the decorations as well as eat at Cape May. My choice would be the GF, but you can't go wrong with either one. Good luck.

We stayed at the WL the first week of December. The resort was gorgeous but I decided that if we were ever going to WDW at Christmastime again that we would stay at the BC. There were a lot of Christmas activities in Epcot and we really wished we were walking distance to them. We never got to see half of the storytellers. There were a lot of other special Christmas activities at Epcot, too, and staying at the BC would have made it a lot easier to see them all. :)

Thank you for all the great information and beautiful photos! I think my decision just got harder :santa:

Someone mentioned "rehab in November at BC"? Is this true?

According to the BC/YC FAQ, the refurb started this past Monday, August 4. It is starting in the CL lounge/rooms and will then proceed to the other floors until all are complete. Here is a link to the BC/YC FAQ with some information:
