Hi everyone and welcome to our pre-trip report! This is the story of three friends planning our second trip to WDW together. We decided to write a pre-trip report this time because we wanted to keep track of all our planning and things, and we thought it would be fun to share it all with people who understand plus, on our last trip we started writing a trip report but kinda failed...so we figured this would help us get excited and get used to writing about everything before we get there! We're SO excited to go back to Disney together again, and tell you all about it in the process

We'll start with a bit of background info: introductions and our story!

First up is me, Kaela! I'm 21 years old and I live in Orlando because I'm a CM! I did my college program last year in Spring 2013 and I fell so much in love with being a cast member that I ended up moving down here in December and now I'm here for good I work FP+ in MK so I might have helped you set up your fastpasses at one point or another haha. anyways, my absolute all time favorite character is Ariel, my favorite park is MK and my favorite ride is Tower of Terror. I'm SO excited to bring my two best friends back to Disney...and to tell you all about it!! my text color in this trip report will be PURPLE!

Hello, I’m Ana!
I’m 29, I live in Costa Rica and I work in finances for a Fortune 500. Lol nothing to do with Disney, so I often say, mine is a story of Snow White wandering into a Fortune 500 and becoming boss at a corporate career. I’ve loved Disney all my life, everything about Disney makes me super happy and inspired. It’s been the love of my life since I was a wee baby. Clearly, I looooove looooove Snow White, she’s my favorite. My favorite park is MK and my favorite ride is Splash Mountain. These 2 ladies are my best friends, some of the people I love and cherish the most and I can’t put into words how much they affect my life on a daily basis. Sharing Disney with them is literally the stuff of dreams so I’m SO READY to do it again My color for this trip report is PINK!

Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m 25, from Maryland, and currently studying to work in the legal field while working full time. My absolute favorite Disney character is Mulan, I love her so much and I don’t understand how she’s not more people’s favorite princess! Last year was my first trip to Disney and after only spending about 1 day (or less) in each park, I’m not sure I can choose many park favorites just yet! Things I’m looking most forward to doing again are Expedition Everest, watching Wishes with these girls, and generally spending way too much time in MK. We’ve been counting down the days til this trip since before we even had set dates so I am really ready to go back to the magic and reunite. My color for the trip report will be BLUE!


Our story: the three of us actually met online! we met on a Disney online community and clicked pretty fast, and now (5 years later!) we've been friends ever since. Last year when Kaela got accepted to the college program we started pondering the idea of a Disney trip so we could finally all meet in person. That idea quickly became a reality, and on April 20, 2013 we all met in person for the first time!! It was SUCH a special moment for all of us. We made so many memories last year and were so sad to say goodbye that we immediately started planning our next visit back to WDW together!

Our trip details:
September 22-October 1, 2014
We'll be staying at Coronado Springs for four of those nights (9/24-9/28), with a "split stay" at Kaela’s apartment for the rest of the trip Coronado is a new resort for all of us, so we’re super jazzed to try it out.

On last year’s trip we celebrated ALL THREE of our birthdays (well...two real birthdays and one early birthday). We wanted to go back this year at the same time, but because of the way spring breaks/Easter were laid out this year, the parks were going to be WAY busier and much more expensive! We decided to move our trip to September to save some money, get better crowd levels, and so that we could experience Food & Wine and Halloween at Disney.

It was a sacrifice to plan for September instead of April. We miss each other a lot and get nostalgic about being together a lot. But I have always wanted to do Food & Wine and MNSSHP is so dreamy, so we’ve kept telling each other it’s worth it and now... We’re almost 60 days away!

I don’t even regret that we couldn’t go in April anymore, I’m just so excited for this trip! We’re going to get to try so many new things and MNSHPP and Food & Wine are a huge part of that, plus a few other things that surprised us by coinciding with our new dates.

Soooo all in all, that’s basically it for now! We’re SO excited about this trip and writing it all down to share with you, and we hope you’ll follow along with us for the next 64 days til the real fun begins

Nice to see you here! I was just checking out your PTR, our dates are so close and yet so far! It's good having someone from the FB group here! Joining that group has turned out to be one of the best planning things we've done so far

Yes my PTR is a fun little place we have a great time. with some of the most amazing people i am very lucky to have them! turned out to be some really great friends of mine.

Were going to be using Kaela's main gate most days and that's not able to be linked. That means we're not booking any fp+ ahead of time. We did hear that MNSSHP tickets might let us book fp for that day so we'll see if that ends up being true. There's also one CM blackout date that affects our trip so we might use a comp ticket for Epcot one day, but I don't know whether or not that can be linked at all tbh

It turns out that this trip is full of special dates. Half of them we planned and the other half were absolutely pixie dusted upon us, so we’re super excited to tell you all about them. We’ll go into detail for some of these later but right now this is everything that’s happening:

First, when we settled on our dates, we were going back and forth with our schedules, our vacation calendars, our available time off, etc, etc…. We checked the Halloween party dates and finally decided on our dates: we’d be going the last week of September to catch the Halloween parties and the low crowds.

Second, we had to decide the days for our birthday celebrations. All 3 of our birthdays have passed but since we couldn’t celebrate them in April, we’re setting up celebration dates for each one of us. Kaela’s “birthday” goes first on the 24th of September, Sarah is next on the 25th and Ana on the 26th. Back to back and it’ll be hectic but totally awesome days

Basically our “birthday” for this trip means that we got to choose what to do on our day, including which parks to visit, where to eat, which characters to meet etc, as we would have done if it was our actual birthday. And perhaps we’ll have a celebration or three at our ADRs of choice if we’re lucky!

Pretty soon after that, we decided to put it in writing and book our hotel dates! So that same week, Kaela goes to check her schedule and to request her days off and omg… the 27th is Dapper Day! We realized because Kaela already had requested it off.

If you’re not familiar with Dapper Day, you’re missing out! It’s basically an unofficial dress up day in the parks - everyone wears fun fancy outfits and takes pictures and everything and it’s SO much fun! it’s not sponsored by Disney or anything, but it’s become a lot more popular since the start, mostly because of the internet. I went to my first Dapper Day this past March and had a blast, so I knew we would have to do it for our trip. I even had a photo of me up on the official Dapper Day facebook page! that’s me on the right, dancing the night away at the Grand Floridian :3

Ooooomg…. there are so many things about Dapper Day that are SO me. I love puffy dresses, vintage clothing (lbr, sometimes I dress up to work looking like I’m in the 60’s with my pencil skirt and round toe heels, hurrying off to make my business meeting). I love dressing up and I love sewing big dresses. Everything about Dapper Day is my jam. I am so happy about Dapper Day.

Our chosen MNSSHP is on the 28th. It’s the last September party and one of the least crowded.

We have had our costumes picked out for MNSSHP for months. We are planning on being the Avengers! This is a great choice for us because it is possible we might have another friend or two attend the party with us, and there are way more than 3 characters in the Avengers for us to choose from if that happens. And Disney owns Marvel now so, it’s perfect really. I’m going to as Captain America, Kaela will be Thor, and Ana will be Iron Man. We also have a possible Hulk right now if her trip dates end up working out. Oh did I mention we’ll be the Avengers in tutus? We plan on having a sleepover at Kaela’s on our first night and making our costumes together!

The next day, we chose to visit Food & Wine festival. We won’t be at CSR anymore and won’t have the DDP (we would’ve used snack credits for the F&W items), but figured it’d be worth it to get lower crowds as opposed to the weekends when more locals come in. We had had it on our spreadsheet for about a week when the Eat to the Beat concert list was released and who plays on our Food & Wine date? HANSON!

Okay, me again. Let me put it this way, 12 year old me has been living for the past 17 years waiting for this moment. I LOVE HANSON! They were my young teen love, and I’ve followed their career all these years while we’ve all gotten old lol. Because I live so far away, I’ve never gotten to see them but I’ve loved them from afar all this time, still listen to their music, buy their albums and generally keep up to date with what they do. This is a BIG deal for me. I can’t even, I’m gonna be SO EXCITED I DON’T KNOW HOW THEY ARE GOING TO CONTAIN ME.

She tried to ignite the enthusiasm in me and Kaela by making us a playlist but I’m not gonna lie… I haven’t listened to it yet. I still have like 2 months but so far it just hasn’t happened. We are probably going to have to watch every single set that night because Ana is just SO INTENSE about Hanson. She almost planned a second 2013 trip WITHOUT ME OR KAELA just to see them at F&W last year.

Lol I haven’t listened to the playlist yet either...sorry Ana. I remember when they first posted the concerts that were gonna be happening during F&W, I went to check the ones for our dates and was so excited when I saw that Hanson would be playing, only because I knew Ana would be thrilled

Our final day, we went SO wild: We decided to leave it empty! Anything can happen, we fly kinda early the next day so this is our last chance for anything we might’ve missed or wanna do again. We’ll go with the flow.
