I would love to hear opinions about 50's Prime Time Cafe. The good, the bad, and the ugly. ;)

We love this place! The food is always good and the atmosphere is so much fun! We have a great time every time. I highly recommend it - especially if you have never visited before!! :thumbsup2

I enjoy it and would go back. I had the combo platter with the fried chicken/pot roast/meatloaf and it was all pretty typical comfort food. The shakes are good too. I specifically requested they not do the playing around antics with me and they complied, but other people dining seemed to enjoy it.

DD and I love 50's! Love the CM's and the whole shtick.

DH not so much. He really likes the food and the themeing, but does not get into the playing part of it.

DD and I will be back again for sure, I thought it was loads of fun.

We go especially for the peanut butter and jelly milkshakes but the dinner is pretty good too.
We thought the schikt would be weird but enjoyed it.
Our waiter was not over the top and knew when to reel it in with some of the diners around us.
There was a group of 20 somethings to one side of us who included patrons who were gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and had allergies. The waiter did not joke with them but was pleasant and professional.

Another time, there was a cranky tired man with with a large group next to us. He had asked for some extra napkins to go with his fried chicken. The waiter took too long so he got up from his seat to track someone down for his napkins. He must have been told to go sit because a few minutes after he sat, a different waiter came by with a dinner plate piled a foot high with napkins The man did not even laugh but we had a really good chuckle!

Love it! You have to be a group who enjoys "Playing along" but the theme is great, the food is very good and the CMs are really fun. Have never had a bad experience here or at SciFi.

Thank you all for your opinions so far! We were wondering about the antics. I have heard they can go a little too far sometimes. It sounds like they would be open to tone it down if we felt like they were going overboard. It looks like such a fun restaurant and the menu looks so good.

We tried it for the first time on our last trip and loved it. The fried chicken and chicken pot pie were delicious.

We went on our last trip, and enjoyed it. We had a nice, down to earth waitress originally from our neck of the woods, so that was nice. She wasn't as "in character" as some of the other waitresses, but that was OK with us. Another waitress took a patrons cell phone, because she caught him looking at it after she told him to put it away! LOL
The food was good ol fashioned comfort food, and even though we had a late, 8pm ADR, and weren't seated for at least 20 minutes, I'd still go back. They actually had a nice lounge area to wait in anyway. :)

We were just there last week and had a great lunch. We had meatloaf, fried chicken and chicken Cesar salad. We had onion rings as an app. All the food was really good and cousin mike was great. My mother got spoken to for having her elbows on the table and my youngest had to clean the table before getting his dessert. He hadn't cleaned his plate. We will definitely go back. We have gone before but this was one of the best times.

This is one of our favourite restaurants and is always a must do for us. I have never experienced a CM in character going too far with any antics. I really love the schtick they give and take throughout the meal.

Some great experiences with our "cousins" and "extended cousins" each time we have eaten there. We always like to each get an app and then share the combo dinner plate with meat loaf, chicken, etc. Always enough to fill us up but not too much where we are just wasting food or money on two meals.

Love getting the 'Clean Plate Club' sticker when you clean your plate. I wear mine all that day and it's fun getting high fives from other CM's throughout the park for cleaning my plate.

I also like the desert menus there as well...

We tried it in April for the first time and really enjoyed it, it was just my DD and I, our waitress was funny and not over the top. She told us the table was not going to set itself and things like eat all your food etc.. She was very nice and helpful with menu choices as well. I had the pot roast and DD had the chicken pot pie, both very tasty. We thought it was fun and food came out quick.

We tried 50s Prime Time after reading all the great reviews and were extremely disappointed. The dinners tasted no better than microwaveable dinners. :confused3 Disgusting!

We may have been there on an off night but we were placed at a booth in the back and had very little waiter interaction, which is one of the aspects we were looking forward to. We don't ever plan to return.

I go back for the food. I love the pot roast (my husband finally tried it this year and sees why I like it so much!) We have never had a good server there, though. When we first sat down this time, things looked promising... Our server came up and threw everything down on the table and told our DD to set the table. But that was all we got. We didn't get yelled at for elbows on the table, didn't get yelled at for not finishing our dinner, and no clean plate sticker for me for the first time I finished my dinner there! I take it back, she saw me looking at my phone once, and told me no toys at the table, until she noticed I was looking at the MDE app and said that was ok. My daughter asked for mustard, and it took about 20 minutes to receive it, and our server had spilled mustard all over herself. I don't know if it was an accident or part of her acting. She played it up a bit too much either way in my opinion.
The server at the table next to ours made up for it, though. She was a hoot! She yelled at you if you didn't finish your dinner, and came and spoon fed one of the older gentlemen who didn't finish his vegetables. She was just too funny, so I guess that'll have to do! I do highly recommend it, thought. It's a fun meal.

Was there on my honeymoon. Our waiter went easy on us, probably figuring we were trying to have a nice newlywed type dinner. This August will be back with eight of us including 4 kids ranging 3 to 22 years, my wife and my mother & father in law. I imagine our waiter/waitress will see this group as prime material for some fun.

Thank you, everyone! We just checked out some videos on youtube. I am excited to check it out, my son is a little leery.
