At the festival booths am I able to ask for things without sauces or other parts of the dish? I'm allergic to eggs and am worried the portions are already pre-made or that the CMs will get annoyed at my requests.

Some stuff is premade and warming, but most stuff with sauce the sauce was added at the end. If its like last year some booths, you order then you walk up to window and its already ready and waiting.

If it's like the last few years, they'll release the demo schedule just before the opening of the event bookings/reservations. You should be able to book any of the culinary demos in advance via the Disney Dining reservation system.

If it's a celebrity chef or a demo you really want to see, I'd recommend booking the tickets in advance. The celebrity demos can sell out within a few hours or faster. For most of the daily demos though, there tends to be tickets available the day-of for purchase at the Festival Center.

Not a problem, I have done this often. The CMs working the booths are happy to do this.

They have never had a problem with me before..and I don't have allergies quite the opposite sometimes I have requested extra sauce (yes I'm a sauceaholic) Sometimes though it can take a teensy bit longer for your food to get to you if you need something taken off or extra put on but not even close to 5 mins. And I've never seen a CM get annoyed with a F&W requests usually those CM's are having too much fun to get annoyed.

Has anyone done the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine, but then extended your stay for a few days to take in Epcot Food and Wine? I was thinking of doing this. Wondering if it was worth the cost. In looking into it, it seems the cost to stay there is cheaper with a Food and Wine package. if I could get as good of a deal for room nights somewhere else so I could walk to Epcot, I would do that too. So far those hotels are way too expensive. Any ideas?

All the Epcot area resorts are pricey. If you are an annual passholder, AAA member or Florida resident the Swan / Dolphin usually have special rates for those. Be aware Westin/Sheraton automatically adds in a $23 resort fee each night so it even makes it more expensive.

I've never checked Orbitz, etc for those hotels.

Coronado Springs is less than a mile away but no sidewalks. Taxi is about $5 from CS to the Swan and then you could walk to Epcot. Taxi would cost more if they drove you all the way to Epcot.

I will have my car, but I won't be driving after an evening of drinking. That is why I was thinking of staying where I can walk to the hotel. I know the hotels are pricey, but I do know if you do the Food and Wine at Swan/Dolphin you can get better rates. Just wondering if the Food/Wine was worth the extra.

I say go for it! The S&D event is great and the location can't be beat.

Tried the S&D Food and Wine Classic for the first time last year and really enjoyed it! It was, in my opinion, much more adult oriented than the Epcot F&W festival (which I also adore). Seemed to me like far more wine booths than food booths... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The food we did have was great, although there were long lines and as you might suspect, "competition" for room at the "bar" tables when it came time to trying to eat said food. Terrific people watching opportunities... especially as the night wore on!

From a resort perspective, I liked the Swan. It is a great value for the location. The room was fine, the pools good and the restaurants terrific. I missed the full Disney immersion... but I did not miss the additional $$$$ I would have spent in the other Epcot resorts.
