Hi everyone! I have couple of questions...

Are life jackets available at the quiet pools? I'm wondering if we should bring our own or do you think they will fit a toddler?

Is the quiet pool a zero entry pool? How about the large one at the dig site?

I think I noticed a sandbox near the playground. Will they have toys there or should I bring my own?

Can you use QS credits for the Pool Bar food? If you can what do you choose as your "desert" ? I saw a picture of the menu and I didn't see any QS logo near the selections. Would I be able to choose a side then in place of the dessert?

Upon check out do you just call the front desk to help you with your luggage? We'll be participating in Magical Express and we'll need some help juggling our 2 little ones and all of our stuff.

When do the Christmas decorations go up? We'll be there the week before Thanksgiving and I was hoping to see the resort's tree there :)

Has anyone been able to just walk up to Maya Grill and get a ressie on a weekday? Just wondering because we may play it by ear one night and eat there.

Also, I haven't heard anything about Ventanas. Has anyone been there and what did you think about it?

As you can see I've been saving up all of my questions:laughing:

Thank you everyone!

I don't know the answers to all of them, but as far as I know there are life jackets available at the dig site pool but not the quiet pools.
Yes you can use your QS credits at the pool bar, and I think desert can be an ice cream etc. I think I've also read that Maya Grill doesn't usually need reservations.
And that's all I can help with lol, sorry!

I'll take a crack at the rest! :)

We don't have little kids, but I'm pretty sure there are toys in the sandbox. The quiet pools are not zero entry. The Digsite is not zero entry either, but it starts out like 1 foot deep.

I don't know for sure when the Christmas decorations go up. It will be around that time. I would say you have a 50/50 shot at seeing them.

There is a Bell Services button on your phone. Call them for help with your luggage. Make sure to give yourself enough time as they can get busy sometimes.

I haven't seen any reviews yet on Ventanas here or on Buzz's site. I'm curious myself.

In my experience it's very rare to need an advance reservation at Maya Grill. There are varying reviews on the food here, although most seem to be good since the new menu came out. But one thing I will say, I find the service outstanding at Maya Grill. The service we got from the two hostesses, bus people and our waiter when we ate there last time was probably the best service of any of our dining experiences during the 12 night trip. We previously ate there in 2010 and although my wife didn't care for her meal that night (I liked mine), we both agreed the service was excellent.

Just Google "Las Ventanas Disney" and a ton of picture reviews come up. I didn't want to post links because I'm not sure it's allowed ! Hope that helps!

Thank you everyone!

Lots of life jackets. And I believe lots of them are pretty small.

No zero entry at CSR Dig Site pool or quiet pools. There is a VERY shallow pool for little kids though.

There IS a sand area near the playground. I don't know if they had toys there or not. However, we did notice a pail and shovel in the sand at the Cabanas area by the lake with the hammocks. I believe they were put there by the resort. I saw kids playing with them there.

I didn't eat at Las Ventanas. They have a menu posted outside the restaurant. It was open from 11-2. No one was in eating. I might have tried if I was on the dining plan but otherwise it was pricey. The only price I recall was a grilled cheese for 13.95.

Must have been AAA Canadian cheese!

For anyone staying in August..... I just got a call from Disney today. We had booked a Preferred Room/King and in August all the preferred rooms are going into rehab! The wonderful CM found us a Water View/king and got us all set up though! I was more concerned about the bed than the location of the room. It all worked out though! Yay! Just thought I'd pass the info along in case anyone else staying in August might have an issue.

We are checking in on Sept. 2. Did they say it was just for August? I am so hoping I do not get this call :sad1:!

You should see the Christmas Decorations. I went around Christmas from Nov 13-19. When we got there the decorations weren't up but one morning, about midweek, all of the decorations and the tree popped up overnight. Disney Magic!pixiedust:

I'm hoping this is the start of the major CSR refurb. I wasn't expecting it until next year after the CBR update was finished. From some of the ideas and pictures I've seen floating around CSR will be hands down the best Mod resort when this is finished.

They would probably go one building at a time so with three preferred buildings only some people would get that call. It's possible this is just some regularily scheduled maintenance or making room for a convention as well.

We're kind of spoiled. All 5 of our trips have been in mid-December. We don't even know what WDW and CSR look like without the Christmas decorations. I'd be scared to go at a different time now in case it was a letdown without all the Christmas stuff! :)

No. I'm sorry! He didn't say, just that it would be under rehab for the duration of our stay. I'm not too surprised... When I checked to see if there was convention going on during our stay, there was one that ended just before our arrival and I think there is a convention the first week of September (just after we leave). So maybe they will try to be finished with the preferred rooms prior to that next convention???. Just a thought.

Is there a schedule of conventions at the hotel? I would like to see if there are any planned when we are there.
