Cali grill woes

I snagged a Cali grill ADR for 9:15pm for this trip in July where the wife and I are just taking the ds5 on a solo kid trip :) while his brothers are at summer camp..

We would never even consider Cali grill with the other boys but I thought it would be a nice way to enjoy the fireworks at wishes 10pm. Problem is the menu isn't really our taste lol. I love sushi but got sick last Xmas at disney and had sushi and it never sat well after that, wife isn't big on seafood or any meats. So I'm wondering if the experience is really worth trying to keep the ds5 up for or not.. We would most likely just share the flatbread a dessert or two and some drinks because nothing else is appealing.

Now I'm wondering if we should just cancel it..

So is watching wishes from up top worth it or not? :confused3

A restaurant is, first and foremost about the food. If the menu is not to your liking, then nothing else about the experience will make up for that. You can get the same fireworks view from the 4th floor observation deck if that is important.

1) With an ADR just 45-min before Wishes, I seriously doubt you can get a table.
2) But,
. . . USA Hockey did beat the Russians for the gold medal
. . . Pinnochio did turn into a real boy
. . . someone eventually wins Power Ball
. . . a man did land on the moon in 1969
3) If these can happen, you might get a table.

??? The suggestion of going to the 4th Floor observation deck was in lieu of keeping the ADR. Not sure where the "you'll never get a table" admonition comes from. To be clear, my suggestion was to eat elsewhere and then go out to the observation deck. Sorry if that was unclear.

Lol. I think the pp was just adding to your justification.. Sounds like all around pointless to keep thanks guys. I'm canceling.. :thumbsup2

I think he meant you'll never get seated in time.

But I agree--if all that matters is a fireworks view, many other places to watch.

Don't book it if all you really want is the fireworks and you don't have the least interest in the restaurant. The opportunities for disappointment are higher that way, especially with such a late reservation.
