So glad that Teena's surgery went well and she will have some relief from those pesky kidney stones !

Thanks wdwlver, Scott MC & Wood Nymph for the bus info!

I'm so torn between the Beach Club and Yacht Club every pro/con helps- bus included.

One of my silly pros is the lamps in BC vs YC lol. Mickey in that lifeguard chair is too cute.

Haven't stayed deluxe in about 15 years (since I was 10). This time I'd be paying so it's a big decision!

Looking for Memorial Day wknd next year. Hoping to jump on the 24 hour bandwagon

One of my (silly) worries is about being picked up in the morning after Yacht Club. I'm a bit of a nut :duck: about getting to park early enough BEFORE rope drop and I'm paranoid the Yacht Club guests will fill up the bus to AK or MK first and I'll have to wait for another bus. :rotfl: So, I just plan to be at Beach Club bus stop 1 hour and 15 minutes ahead of park opening....or run my behind down to Yacht Club and wait there. ;)

For the record, I've stayed at both and honestly, I like both equally, although Yacht Club is a bit more subdued.

Just heard from Teena- she is out of surgery and it was successful. Stone was blasted to kingdom come! Sounds like she can go home tomorrow. They originally told her tonight, but I think the doctors want to be cautious.

:banana::banana::banana:

Thanks, again, everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers!

:goodvibes

Whew. I've been thinking about her.

Hi all~ jumping in a little late. We are headed back to BC to celebrate my daughters graduation. We will be staying CL 6/4-6/7. Can't wait to be in my most favorite Resort! ;)

p. 20-24

PHEW! Finally caught up.

:cool1:

Sending prayers and good thoughts for a speedy recovery for Tina.

Getting excited for our YC stay. We are going to catch the MK bus in the afternoon. I guess I should budget almost an hour, since I thought I heard that "off" hours, the bus will go to more than the BC before going to MK.

If you budget an hour I think you will be pleasantly surprised. We don't usually take the bus in the afternoon, and I remember once waiting around 15-20 minutes for a bus to MK, then a 12 minute ride, so I think in most cases you should be there, at least bus stop to bus stop, in much less than an hour.

The only buses I have been on that shared with BWI or S/D were DTD buses.

Hi All

We are thinking of adding dining plan to our trip. I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with the Market Place can tell me what we can use our refillable mugs for? Other than fountain soda (that I think we would get)....can we get coffee? tea? apple juice or milk? Also is the market place the only area at BC/YC to refill or can we get anything out by pool?

Appreciate the info :thumbsup2

Soda, iced tea, coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate. No milk. No juice. I think ASSports has Powerade but do not recall that being at YC/BC.

Refills at marketplace, Hurricane Hannah's, beaches & cream carry out, and I believe in the morning in lounge off YC lobby in Ale & Compass.

Here are some pictures of the refill station at Hurricane Hanna's near the pool. This was from the summer, before the RFID chipped refill mugs, but I'm not aware that there are any changes in the station since then.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

We were hoping to drop the car off first so we could walk back to BC through the international gateway. Although, driving straight there wouldn't be the worst thing in the world :)

We were going to go to SAB if we're allowed to before check in? Or go to Typhoon Lagoon. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough. We were also going to request a late check out at AKV just in case. Does this sound reasonable?

You would need to check in first before using SAB. They will scan your magic band to be certain you are a guest there before allowing you into SAB. Lifeguards are posted at all entrances.

Yes, as mentioned above, you need to check-in before you will be able to use SAB. Your room may not be ready, but that is fine. I think you can check in as early as 6 or 7 am (maybe even earlier, I am not sure). If you are planning on using SAB, then you will be there at the resort so you can check in right before planning to swim, I would think.

:thumbsup2

How does the bus loop work? Is Yacht or Beach the first pick up?

Also When the bus also picks up from S&D and BW are Yacht & Beach Club picked up first?

Getting a seat on bus is important to me.

If anyone knows the bus route for MK, AK, DTD id be interested to know.

Thanks wdwlver, Scott MC & Wood Nymph for the bus info!

:welcome:

I'll pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list for next May. You can let us know which resort when you have booked.

:cool1:

The other big difference between the two resorts is the availability of a full balcony. Pretty much guaranteed at YC, but only a 50% chance at the Beach Club since half of the rooms have full balconies and half have the smaller Juliet balconies.

DTD - from the YC to BC to BWI to Marketplace to West End to Typhoon Lagoon to S/D to YC

:scared1: I've just remembered being on this bus :scared1:

it got stuck in S/D entrance as some idiot had parked a car in the way and the driver managed to wedge the bus between the car and the big pillars in the entrance way.

Brilliant news
On our last day at BC we will check out at the required time, but don't need to be at ME for pick up until 5pm. I've heard it's ok to hang out at SAB even tho your are checked out. True?
If so, how have you managed that? I think I read here that they no longer let you use the lockers in the spa. Can you still change there though? Or do you use the public restroom to change from your bathing suit to clothes when you are preparing to head home?
Additionally, I'd enjoy reading any tips on how you make the most of this oh-so-precious, and often melancholy, final day when you have a later flight (Previous trips we've driven and so we just check out and hit the road!)
ps- this will not be a day we have park tix for.
We normally have a last wander around the boardalk, grab some breakfast at the bakery, then lounge at SAB until it's time to leave :(. We made the mistake last year of getting the Magical Depress to the airport :scared1: NEVER EVER AGAIN- it took hours, seemed like it took an age to get going when it stopped at CBR resort waiting on some passengers who never materialised  Definitely added stress to the journey that we didnt need so we will always take a cab to airport from now on :thumbsup2 I like enough time there to have a proper meal before the long flight home.

I think the pros list is funny. We have only stayed at Yacht Club and are finally going over to the Beach Club next month. It will feel strange, as I always had a special place in my heart for the YC. And the first time we ever stayed deluxe, I cried. Seriously, I was so happy.

Ha! That was always one of my "things" about being at the Yacht Club was the bus pickup was first. There were a few times (mostly during early entry MK) that the bus almost filled up, and only a few at the BC were able to get on, leaving a bunch of people unhappy. But I think I also recall the buses were very late for some reason, and everyone was antsy. This was NOT the norm.

Checking in from the BC!! Been here since Thursday - loving it so far :) Love love love being able to walk to Epcot. The few ADR's I made are in Epcot, so if we have left overs (which we generally do, since my husband had gastric bypass surgery last year), we just walk them back to the room and enjoy them later :)
Our room is great - paid for garden View, which we do have, but we also have a great view of the beach and lake ! We are near the volley ball court, 3rd floor. Pretty quiet - far from the main elevators, but we do have a single elevator just around the corner from us.
You'd have laughed at us once we checked in and were looking the room over - after getting excited over the view, and realizing where we were located, my son and I abandoned hubby and ran around trying to find the secret entrance/exit :) In our haste we almost forgot our room number, and only got slightly lost before finding the room again ! Whenever we go in or out the secret entrance, my husband insists on closing the gate behind us - I think he thinks it stops anyone else from finding the door ;)
Glad to hear Teena is doing good - I looked for her on Sunday, and now I know why I didn't see her - we'll just have to stay here again sometime so we get to meet her !!
Well, breakfast just arrived, so better sign off for now !

Sounds like you are having a wonderful trip!!!! The close proximity to Epcot is one of the reasons we love BC too! When we checked into BC for the first time our room was in the same wing as yours. And like you, I took off almost immediately to find room 1501! Lol!!!!!

I'm so glad to see powerade there. We're doing the DDP in September and I was wondering if there were many options other than pop. Glad the kids will have powerade as an option when they're out in the heat.

Can I last 116 more days until we're there??? I need something to do to occupy my time. I've tweaked our ADRs as much as they can be tweaked.

what is the easiest/most affordable way to have water and basic breakfast items like cereal or poptarts shipped to the resort? Is Garden grocer the way to go or is it easy to ship form Walmart.com ? I know the thread said to use only US mail, but what if you ship from a store site that you can't choose how it ships?

Thanks for any advice!!!!

yikes! this is scary for a 1st time user of ME to read. It seemingly is such an efficient and free service offered by wdw. Is this kind of thing common? Anyone miss their flight bc of ME?
