There was more discussion about water over on the previous thread which got momentarily resurrected:

Hi Everyone

Please bare with me if this question has been asked many times. I was wondering if the market place sells cases of water. We won't have a car this trip, and when I saw the "upcharge" (double) from gardengrocer I thought we might as well just get a case at the resort if they sell it. I know they sell milk etc. so I thought they might have cases of water?

If so I'll just pack our cereal, buy the milk and water there and avoid having to use the grocery delivery service. I'd appreciate any tips you all might have. ;)

I believe the Marketplace does have cases of water available, at least it is on the listing of items DVC members can preorder:

24 pack of 12 oz Dasani water, $16.00

I was wondering about this too. We are flying and I wondered if I could put a case into my checked luggage.

Theoretically you could do that as long as the TSA does not have a restriction on the amount of liquid you can check in a bag (anyone know, someone just looked up the rules on wine), but you do have to be concerned with

1) Baggage fees unless you are using an airline like SW with free baggage allowances

2) Weight limits on your bags, if you are packing other stuff in the same suitcase. Not sure what a case of water weighs, but me thinks, a lot.

:)

We went to Trail's End from the BC in March. We took the bus to MK and then the boat to FW. The boat brings you close to the restaurant. Give yourself at least an hour or more to get there, since you need to anticipate a 20 minute bus ride and a 20 minute boat ride with time for waiting added in. We love Trail's End but usually only eat breakfast there when we stay at WL. The Captain's Grill at the YC serves a very nice breakfast buffet and it is about the same price as Trail's End. Both restaurants will give a 10% discount for Disney Visa or annual pass holders. :)

GREAT reminder!

Someone had mentioned this before our July trip and we did get the 10% discount using our Disney Visa when we ate there for lunch. But I think the discount is only valid for breakfast and lunch, at least at the Captain's Grille, not dinner. Not sure about the AP discount.

:goodvibes

You can ship to the Beach Club, but be aware that there's an extra charge for fedex or UPS because it's a Conference Center. This post has more information: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=50433347&postcount=14

Thank you. I'm not sure what Amazon uses, it may vary depending on the product and shipping speed you request. I've looked at the grocery delivery, but we don't need that much. The only thing that I really need to have is Greek yogurt. It's a dietary need. I don't want to waist time searching all over WDW for it. Does anyone know if they sell it at the BC marketplace?

Some bad news. Teena let me know that she is hospitalized due to more kidney stone trouble. She may be released tomorrow but will not be in the lobby Sunday or Monday as scheduled. She says she will miss everyone who is around. Ill keep you posted on how she is doing.

Hope Teena's better soon!! Thinking of her.

Does anyone know what is the fee that the BC charges to ship/hold a box, since it's a convention resort? I would like to send something as a surprise for the kids but I didn't see what the fee from the resort is. And does anyone know where or how I would pick it up once I check in? Thanks

Hi all, sad to say I cancelled my YC room for October as the savings at the Dolphin was just a better deal for us . I wish our week was included in the RO discounts but it wasn't so I could try the YC but maybe next time :confused3

I can be removed from the Bog list  but we will be by for dinner at Capt Grill :cool1: !!

:flower3: Sending Get well wishes to Teena

Big hello to Dee as well I haven't popped in since I actually HAVEN'T changed in awhile, and I get the itch to switch easily..especially with a spanking new thread like this. another great job Dee!:goodvibes

our trip was up in the air for a while, but it looks like it is going to happen. We will be at the beach club aug 12-19!!! I have a ton of questions thank you in advance for any info or insight you can share.

We booked the labor day special through an agency and could only book standard. I'm not even sure I can offer to pay for an upgrade to a garden view because it was a group booking. What would be the best chances of getting some pixie dust for a garden view: online checkin or checkin upon arrival. I will be ok with standard if that's what I get also.

This is an odd question: How loud are the AC fans in the rooms? My kids have slept with small fans in their rooms for white noise since they were babies. We are flying and can't bring a fan with us. I know the AC fan was loud enough at POR last time we didn't need our fan. Does it do the trick for white noise? IF not, any suggestions?

Does anyone have any input about location requests? We have 3 kids 11 and under, will be going to the pool several days, will be going to Epcot , and would like to be somewhat near a drink refill station. Any centralized location ideas? I've never been to the resort to even eat or visit before, so no real idea about size and locations of the resort.

Any tips about navigating SAB with young kids and how crowded it might be during my timeframe?

Any tips in general about mid august: crowds, weather, how crowded resort might be, etc. . . .

THanks so much, we are SUPER excited:)

Teena, sending you good thoughts all the way from Montreal (long weekend trip for DP's birthday)!

For all you Cirque du Soleil fans (I've seen "La Nouba" twice), we saw their new show, "Kurious" here yesterday. Fantastic!

And was someone talking about breakfast options near BC/YC? I can't recommend Kouzzina enough. It's open through September at BWI, and though the dinner menu doesn't do much for me, the breakfast is my favorite at WDW. I ALWAYS order the turkey hash over a salad with a poached egg on top. Yum!

Poor Teena! I sure hope you're feeling better soon!

Our countdown is now at 10 days!!!!!!! I have one day off work between now and then....tomorrow. Yikes! I was able to get my CM discount for our first night at POR so we will stay there instead of POP. So on this trip we are staying at all three resort categories.....moderate, deluxe and value. I was able to get a decent price ($14/day) on a full-size car from Priceline so we are renting a car. My husband is going to take two of our kids to Cocoa Beach for the day. I prefer the beach at BC. :)

Did anyone see The Middle last week when they went to WDW? We watched it as a family and everyone agreed I'm Sue when it comes to Disney planning.....binder and all!

I can't wait for the day we arrive at BC!!!!!!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone! I hope you are having beautiful weather like we are here in Chicago!

Welcome!
We are booked at BC for 2 nights in August through the travel agent deal as well. My understanding is that there's not much hope for Pixie Dust, but you can keep your fingers crossed, and it's not illegal to offer to pay for an upgrade at check-in. I say, give it a try!
As far as location, standard rooms are on the first 4 floors, and mostly (if not all) on the front of the building. I believe that more than a few of them sneak a peek at Spaceship Earth. I actually don't find BC to be that big of a resort once you get your bearings. I can't imagine any room being more than a 3 min walk from the lobby, drink refill (in the BC Marketplace), or pool. Just follow the signage, and study all of Dee's great information and maps on the first 2 pages of this thread. If you really want to be close to everything, I'd request. "1st floor, close to lobby please."

We've been many a time in mid to late August, as I am a teacher and have to travel on vacations (grumble) and find it to be the best time to travel when schools are on vacation. Yes, it's hotter than the surface of the sun, but it's Orlando right? The crowds aren't bad as long as you do a bit of pre-planning.

I'm excited for you. You'll get all the BC info you need from this thread!

Happy planning!

I have an app on my cell phone that I use for white noise- I plug the phone in on the desk and turn it on- it does the trick for us. We found that when the ceiling fan is on it is way to cold to try to sleep.

Just checking to see if you received my reply to your email. Sent it to the email through the DIS, and didn't get a rejection, but I haven't used that process much...

:)

Yes, thanks so much!! :thumbsup2

My reply to you was stuck in my outbox for some reason. :sad2:
