This is our first cruise and I will be turning 40 on it. Which would you choose for your birthday?

My wife and I really enjoyed Palo Brunch on the last cruise. She is a big breakfast person and I enjoyed many of the seafood options.

One important thing to note is Palo Brunch is only available on sea days, so if you are planning on having the meal on your actual birthday, the ship schedule may dictate you have dinner.

Another vote for brunch. It's my favorite. Plus the nice sea view in the daytime is better than the black hole at dinner.

Loved palo brunch, what others have said great food amazing view... Normally a question like between the two if could only pick one I'd say brunch every time....That being said for a birthday celebration or special event I would do dinner. It's more formal, brunch is more casual and everyone getting up and down didn't seem as being as BIG of a deal...

Do both!

FYI, the brunch reservations seem to be more difficult to get, so I would suggest doing that in advance. You can likely book a dinner reservation on board.

We enjoy them both but prefer dinner. It is possible to have a great view at dinner. Our reservation was at 6:00 and we had a beautiful view.

Thats a tough choice but both are great! They are two completely different dining experiences...

If your looking for an upscale dinner where everything is brought to you a traditional upscale meal then Palo Dinner... If your looking for a really nice buffet with many unique offerings then Palo Brunch is better...

Really you can't go wrong :) I like the formality of dinner but thats just me :thumbsup2

I think I like the idea of the sit down meal however I don't like that I have to give up dinner with the family and not being able to try each main dining room if we do it. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too!! So maybe brunch would be a better fit for us??

I would recommend Palo brunch then :)

My father also didn't like Palo dinner because he felt like he was missing out on dinner in the main dining room and he didn't like having my younger siblings in the club when we could've been together...

If your looking for a romantic night I would go with dinner.
We love them both so much!

If budget allows, I vote both:goodvibes IMO, none of the main dining rooms are as good as Palo. Maybe look online at the menus and pictures of dinner and brunch to see which appeals to you more. They are completely different experiences but you really can't go wrong with either:thumbsup2

To the "both!" comments: I enjoy brunch and dinner but find that on a short cruise (7 nights or less) that both is too much for us. Too rich!

My vote would be brunch for the view, variety, and not having to missing the MDR.

How about both? :)

Not on the same day to be sure, but they are both very good but different dining experiences. Brunch gets a lot of love because its limited to sea days and is harder to get. Dinner is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the MDR.
