This is our 2nd cruise for November 22. It looks like we missed a lot on the first one. How do we get involved? I am 45, my husband 48 and kids are 8 and 15. We all cannot wait!! We are so looking forward to thanksgiving and Christmas aboard the fantasy. Can anyone shed guidance?

Hello fellow Disney Cruisers!! We would like to join the Pirates & Pilgrims Fish Extender group. This will be my families 3rd Disney cruise and third time in the fish extender group.

DS-11

Just booked our Thanksgiving vacation for the Fantasy. :cool1: It will be DH (Jon), DD8 (Gracie) and me (Elizabeth). Would love to join FE Group 2. We are in Stateroom 7192

I will send out messages and/or emails to those who have asked to join the FE group tomorrow. Welcome to the group!

Hi all! Looks like I joined the party late. We booked this 7 day Thanksgiving Cruise when we were on the Dream in November 2013. This will be my 7th Disney Cruise but the first time on a 7 day cruise. We are so excited. There will be 4 of us going me-34, my mom-68, my sister who has Down Syndrome-27, and our family friend-52. We would love to join the fish extender if possible. If the Fantasy is decorated anything like the Dream was for the holidays it will be beautiful. I'm by no means a Disney crusie expert but if anyone has any questions I'd be happy to try to answer them. We live close to the Mouse so we go to Disney very often with our annual passes. We love it and just can't get enough of Disney whether on land or sea. :)

Was wondering if there is a Fish Extender group started for the Fantasy cruise sailing on November 22-29 2014?

We do have a fish extender group started! In fact, we are already on our second group, since the first filled up! There are going to be a LOT of DISers on this cruise, I think.

To join, please send me a PM or post on here with the following info:

DIS screen name:
Family Name:
Cabin number (if known):
Adults' First Names:
Kids' First Names & Ages at Sailing:
Allergies or Special Celebrations:
Email Address:

I will then add you to a list & email you the link to the google doc.

We also have a fairly active Facebook page. If you'd like to come chat over there, here's the link.

Welcome aboard, everyone!

My husband and I along with our two daughters will be cruising over Thanksgiving and we are very excited. My oldest daughter will be 17 when we sail and my youngest will be 9. The oldest is excited about the beaches while the youngest of course is all about the Disney Characters. I am the only one in the family that has ever been to the ocean so this is huge for our family from Colorado. I want to sign us up for the fish extenders and am hoping I am in the right place to do that. Could someone please let me know how this works so I can begin to make some cool things to give?

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Trying to keep up with my kid and my job has kept me very, very busy for the last several months! Our horrible, awful winter weather hasn't helped - I think I've been trying to hibernate and when I do have any free time I've just been curling up with a book & trying to ignore the outside world ;) Today is the first day that really feels like spring.

We managed to squeeze in a little Disney fix in January by heading down to WDW for the MLK holiday weekend. It was just a few days (and unusually cold for Florida) but it was nice to get away from the omnipresent snow. We'll be heading back down for our usual spring trip in June before our AP's expire. We won't be renewing them for now since there won't be any time around the cruise to stop by WDW this time. I've actually cut a day off of that trip, because I really want to get back to Chicago for a concert. I'm going to be seeing Queen! Due to all the "snow days" this year, we can't go down any earlier so the trip will be 1 day shorter this time.

Does anyone with teens have any info about the activities for them on the ship? My son just told me the other day that he is worried that this cruise won't be fun. :( He really loved the kid's clubs when he was smaller & he liked Edge for our last 2 cruises. I guess they visited the teen club once when the teens were out and he thought their club looked boring & that there was nothing to do there.

Is there anyone with teens for this cruise that would be interested in chatting or emailing to get to know each other a bit before the cruise. It might make all the difference to have some other kids to "hang out" with.

My son will be 15.5 for the cruise and a Sophomore in HS. He is currently a freshman. He's a bit of a geek (not a surprise, DH & I both have degrees is Physics & Mechanical Engineering!) and is involved in Chess Team, Orchestra & Video Game Club. He is also a boy scout and does Tang Soo Do Karate. His best subjects are Math & Science, but he usually gets A's in everything except Spanish (Languages just don't come easy for him & its hard work to hang onto a B in there!) If there is anyone else who plays Minecraft, maybe they can meet online with that

Okay, this is a long shot, but throwing it out there anyway. We are currently booked in 6518 and my wife's parents are in 6580. Both have adjoining staterooms (6520 & 6578) that are currently reserved by other families. If any of you are currently in either 6520 or 6578 and would be willing to swap staterooms with us (your 6520 for our 6580 ---or--- your 6578 for our 6518), please let me know. Thank you so much! :)

The important thing for the kids in this age group is to go to the meet n greet ice breaker on the first day. 4 cruises and they've always done something fun to get everyone engaged. One cruise, it was divide off by birth month without speaking. My niece kept wondering around and couldn't find a group to associate to. She finally went to a counselor and they called out for May. She was the only person in there with a May birthdate. Lol. She said she felt goofy, but someone yelled out for her to come join them and they made her an honorary December. She made fast friends with that group. She'll be 16 in a few weeks and finishing her sophomore year.

Well, if they do birth months again, she won't be the only May :) My son's bday is May 1st.

The teens we have seen around the ship on our various cruises have always looked like they were having fun. I've tried to point this out to him, but I think we're having teenage angst over this :confused3 He will certainly go to the first night icebreaker - I think it has made a difference at every age and every club to be there that first night.

I added your family to the list. You can email me at lcprice34 at verizon dot net and I will send you the link to the google doc.

Welcome aboard!

We are cruising that same week on the Fantasy too. I have been on several cruises but this is my family's first Disney cruise and we are so excited. I have 5 year old twins and my little guy will be a 2 weeks shy of his second birthday. My parents will also be joining us.

Can someone help a rookie out and explain what this fish extender thing is that everyone is talking about? Thanks so much!

It is like a secret Santa gift exchange with others on the cruise. You sign up through the message board and exchange information. You'll be given details of everyone in the group and any specifics to preferences or allergies. You can decide to give a gift to the whole cabin or to each individual, the choice is yours. Here is a link to a gift idea thread.

You will make or buy a pocket organizer to hang on the fish hook that is outside of your cabin door. Most will make one pocket per person in the cabin. If you google or search on this board, you'll find a lot of pictures.
