I think I am goign to try to book that one as well. Looks super conveinient and you are right about the WDW walks. I think it was almost a mile from where the bus drops you off to the corrals.

Just wanted to say congrats to everyone who got registered! I am super excited about this race AND to be going to DLR when the holiday decorations are up!!

To update the list, after regular registration it looks like it's me +4 for the Half! We almost have the whole avengers crew! This is going to be my first time dressing up!
Has anyone ever stayed at the Holiday Inn Suites? They look large and reasonably priced but would like some first hand experience before booking.

I think I'm gonna preorder my pin and necklace. We wont get to the expo until 4ish on Friday afternoon. I dont think they'd be sold out by then, but just to be on the safe side I'll skip the AP discount and preorder.

I didn't know that! I did order the pin when I registered for Avengers, but I didn't for W&D or TOT--and now I'm kind of wishing I had--one less thing to worry about at the expo. So I can just go back on the registration page for those races, even though they are sold out, and "register"? Will they still be there with the rest of my race packet when I pick it up?

Yes, I did exactly that for the WDW Marathon weekend.
I will say, though...the pins DS and I got for the 5K and Half were different than the ones for sale there. And I liked the ones for sale better.
I didn't order those things for the TOT last year, but then saw a pin I liked. There were maybe 5 left on the rack. I picked one up as I thought about if I wanted it, and when I looked back at the rack the rest were gone. So if you're at the Expo and you're thinking about something, pick it up!!!! You can always put it back if you decide "no". Anyway, I wonder if the pin I bought was the same that was purchasable through rundisney, because it really didn't seem to be for the WDW events in January.
At TOT expo I said "no" to the necklace and "i did it" hoodie (so expensive!) only to be surprised by them when I was done racing, as DH and DS had done some shopping in the merchandise area at DHS while waiting for me. Awwwww.

Not the registration page because it won't let you, but go back to rundisney.com, then under Registration > Commemorative Items. You'll see links to purchase specific things. You can buy more than one item all at once, but they make it difficult. If you want to purchase both the 5k & Half Pins, once you have one pin added to the cart, close the window (or return to the rD page) and click on the next pin you want added and add that to cart. Once you get to the cart, you'll see pins there.
I did this with Avengers just now.

Catch a Surfliner that's earlier than you think you'll need. Amtrak's timing gets off the further along a line you go, so expect your Surfliner to be late, and don't make it a made rush to catch the Starlight (or worse, miss it, and have to stay overnight).
Perfect, yes we plan on leaving to catch one of the trains out!! Thanks for the insight. I wouldn't have thought that the farther you get down the farther behind schedule it gets. After you said it though, totally makes sense!

I was able to register for the half and I'm really excited. I wasn't planning to run it but on impulse I decided to sign up. It will be my first half. I haven't been running very long but I can already do 4 miles and I'm running the DL 10k in August. I'm using the Galloway training program to get ready for it. I can't wait to run 13.1 miles in the happiest place on earth!

Nope. You barely get a chance to see medals, and the shirts only show up online days before the race if at all.

I'm Sarah and my husband and I will be running this half!
We ran the Princess Half in 2013 and I loved it!
We have never been to Disneyland and I'm so nervous about getting around. I'm a big Disney World fan (been there too many times).
Just booked our hotel at the Menage (better price) and I am just giddy that it is done!
YAY!
