It's gonna take a lot to take me away from this view! 7/10 - Finished!

Back from our weekend away and catching up yet again.

I am very upset that they are getting rid of the AK parade.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your lunch at Yak & Yeti. We had a really good lunch there in December and are going back on our girls trip in May/June. I have yet to have those wontons, but it looks as if I will be ordering them since I am drooling over your picture.

How nice to get an extra FP. I can't ride EE without having eaten, I can't imagine what it would be like if I had just eaten.

I'm sorry you had such a long wait for a bus. I hope you make your DIS meet.

What an awesome end to your day at AK!!!

Glad you were able to see the parade, even if it wasn't the best experience ever.

Your dinner looked terrific and good for the waiter for being attentive to your need for speed! Sometimes the most frustrating thing is being done with dinner and waiting FOREVER to pay!

:woohoo: on the bonus Fast Pass!!! That is so cool! At least EE was fairly closeby.

Boo on bad bus mojo!

I'm glad to know you made your meet in time so I don't have to worry about it until you post.

Welcome back! :goodvibes

Me too, it is so unique!

Oh yes, they are the whole reason I go back, I highly recommend them!

We didn't think anything of it at first... haha then we realized what a mistake we'd made! Luckily it didn't cause any real disruptions. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you had such a long wait for a bus. I hope you make your DIS meet.
It was bad, but a tiny spoiler -- we made it!

What an awesome end to your day at AK!!!
It rounded it out very nicely!

Glad you were able to see the parade, even if it wasn't the best experience ever.
I was happy at the time, but I'm even more happy now knowing it's gone soon!

The food was great, and he was so understanding and just perfect, great combination of friendly and efficient. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: on the bonus Fast Pass!!! That is so cool! At least EE was fairly closeby.
We couldn't resist!

Boo on bad bus mojo!
:sad2: It wasn't fun, that's for sure.

I'm glad to know you made your meet in time so I don't have to worry about it until you post.
I didn't really mean to leave everyone hanging... (Well, ok, maybe I did... :joker: )

Just got caught up with your TR!

Your pictures are amazing! Definitely helps with the Disney homesickness!!

Can't wait to read more!

Can you believe this? I'm home from work today because it's snowing. AGAIN.

anger-angry-disney-fire-hades-Favim.com-232969.gif

Actually the problem today is the ice. It's freezing rain more than snow and the ice is building up on everything. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE! We are a week and a half into spring! I seriously want to move to Florida today. I have vowed not to listen to Let It Go until next November.

At the very least, I'm going to lose myself in my trip!

Thursday November 14
"My Only Wish This Year"

We arrived at MK a little later than we had hoped. It was 6:45 and our DISmeet was set for 7:30. But we were there, we made it! We ran to the will-call, got our tickets, got in, got our bracelets and away we go! We headed straight to Space Mountain where our meet would happen. By the time we got there it was about 7:15. We decided to wait around and look in the gift shop a bit. Before long we spotted ZehnJahren and her mom! I have no meet pics, but we rode Space Mountain together. I tried to get both of our ride pics, but when I got home and looked, theirs wasn't there. From what I read later, someone might have deemed it inappropriate and flagged it. :confused3

Here's mine:

And here's the redneck shot of theirs, from her TR:

We had a blast and chatted for a while before separating to enjoy the party. We had stowed the camera (YES! I took it!) in a locker so we could ride SM without worry, so we ran back to get it and the tripod, and we set up camp for the fireworks. Unfortunately most people had stayed in their same spot from the early parade, and good spots were hard to come by. Oh well. We managed. While walking up Main St. I got this:

[Instagram: It's snowing in Disney world!!

Susan, Marie, David and 3 others like this.
Kyle: <-----this guy is pretty jealous

Sarah: It's snowing in canada too!

On the way to get the camera:

Once we set up our tripods, we realized we couldn't move an inch. We were so crammed in it was getting a little uncomfortable for this claustrophobe! But we were right behind a fence so I leaned on that and forgot about what was behind me. Instead, I concentrated on the sights. Like these:

13539148154_79d28d78f2_z.jpg

Ahhh yes. Any time that castle is in view, I'm a happy girl. This MVMCP was the whole reason for the trip. It was the reason we waited until November to go. If I did nothing else on this whole trip, the party would be enough.

Finally it was time! The lights dimmed and the projection show started:

How adorable is that show? I absolutely love it, especially the little Christmas twist at the end.

And now for the fireworks. I don't believe any words are needed.

ta-daa!

Sorry if I went a little overboard. After a whole morning and afternoon of being apart from my camera, I might have been over compensating.

Next up we wanted to find a good spot for the parade. We managed to get a great spot on a corner of Main St. I sat down with our gear while Johnny went to find some free hot cocoa and cookies!

13538884403_d0c7d122c9_z.jpg

An idea of the crowds! It was pretty crowded that night for sure.

A glimpse of the stage show which I watched from afar:

13539226834_a8f55032af_z.jpg

Johnny was back with our snacks -- just cocoa for me, and boy was it good! I had no sweater and it was really cool that night. I meant to buy a Christmas party sweater, but we had no time to do much of anything other than stake out our locations for fireworks and parades!

The parade was soon to come and I forgot about being cold.

And here we go! These are a combination of mine and Johnny's.

13538860843_2e1c2ac4da_z.jpg

We were sitting down so everyone behind us could see, thus the low angle on all these shots!

And next, my favourite part of all, and the whole reason I wanted to watch the parade:

13538815573_cf9da03efd_z.jpg

The ponies.

13538809113_b0f207886b_z.jpg

That outside lead pony had the most beautiful, expressive eyes!

And finally, the big man himself.

13538617235_2b06302c2e_z.jpg

Have I ever told you that I used to do the Santa Claus photos at our mall? My store does them. I have a direct line to the main man every Christmas, no need to send letters. :thumbsup2

After the parade, we had one more thing we really wanted to do. Since we were on the corner of the pathway to Adventureland, we headed that way next!

(Whoops! I went overboard on the pictures in this update!)

Did you guess...

13538704613_822eb02d25_z.jpg

There was an unfortunately long line and we had no fp+ left, but we decided to wait. I think it was about 45 minutes, (and it really was every bit of it.)

13538700993_8b1b07cd92_z.jpg

The Christmas decorations they added were pretty cute.

Soon enough we were on board. Our skipper was pretty good.

13538558055_cc71296d0a_z.jpg

We were a little disappointed. It felt like very little had been done, I guess we expected a little more.

We stopped in a shop and I FINALLY got a sweater! (Which is my favourite sweater I own, SO comfy!)

We could feel ourselves getting very tired and cranky. We didn't feel like we had got very much done with our party time (besides the very bare essentials.) We decided to make our way very slowly out of the park, taking pictures as we went. It had emptied out a lot but there was a constant stream making their way to the exit.

13538657453_d235b504a7_z.jpg

I can never get enough of that view!

I tried to get lots of pictures of the decorations on Main St.

We got some more hot cocoa and a few photopass pictures:

13536501603_8538fda8aa_z.jpg

We wandered down some "side streets" to look in shop windows and sat here for a few minutes, resting our feet.

Finally we left the park. It was 12:45.

We had more bad luck with the busses on the way home. We thought that since the park was nearly empty we wouldn't have a long wait, we were wrong. We waited for nearly 45 minutes to get on a bus. We did notice that Pop Century, which was right next to us, had at least 3x the busses. Hm. Maybe that's why I never had a complaint about Disney busses... I've always stayed there!

Anyway, we finally got back and here's what is written in my trip journal:

"Showers and sleep with the feeling that this vacation was killing us."

Stick around to see what the next morning would bring after an entry like that!

What a wonderful update for the beginning of the work week.

I'm sorry to hear about your snow/ice. It's the never ending winter.

You can NEVER have enough pictures of the Castle, the castle show, the Holiday Wishes or the Parade...especially not your pictures because they are all spectacular.

Is the sweatshirt in your photopass pictures the one you bought?

I heard that the Jingle Cruise wasn't all that special after all the hype they made about it. :(

I started reading again just in time - here's our meet!

What's interesting is that the picture of mom and me was on my "photopass cd" - one that was compiled without my knowing and emailed to me, I guess because of my magic band. I wonder if they recognized it wasn't you guys and took it off thinking it was a mistake?

You got great pictures of the parade and fireworks. We missed the fireworks, even though I had my glow with the show ears on; we had gotten caught in a line at BTMR and decided to ride again instead of catch the show. We DID sit and have a funnel cake and watch the parade though.

We rode the Jingle Cruise while the fireworks were going on. It was cute, but nothing special!

Our last ride of the night was Peter Pan (truly 30 minutes to ride) and we got out of there a little after midnight I think. You guys were there late!

Amazing pictures!!!!!

I love the one of the partners statue!

I agree with you on the Jingle Cruise! I thought the jokes would be Christmas themed or something :confused3 I remember that the Ginger snaps one we tailored to Christmas but that was about it. I don't know why they would hype it up so much then not really provide a different experience.

Interested to see what happens after that journal entry!

Yeah, I swore off Let it Go as well. That lasted about 2 minutes...

Um, Wendy... You do know a DISmeet doesn't happen unless there are photos... right?? But getting back to the ride photo, seriously, THAT was deemed inappropriate????

Bugger... I totally missed out on that photo op with the soldiers. My first party I don't think they were set up due to the parade taping, but second party I have no excuse.

Oh Wendy, your photos of Celebrate the Magic and Merry ChristWishes are spectacular!!!!

I so appreciate you sitting during the parade. I wish more would follow that example when in front. And once again, spectacular photos. Your location looked perfect.

All these pictures just make me miss the Halloween party So MUCH (sorry... couldn't resist ;))

Oh dear, that trip journal line is pretty ominous.

Your MVMCP pics are gorgeous! Great photo of the "gingerbread" castle!!

And no, no words are needed for the fireworks photos! Perfection! :cheer2:

Looks like a fun night! But, your teaser for tomorrow makes me curious.....:scratchin

Do you want to build a snowman???? :upsidedow

Sorry, sorry!! LOL. I just can't help myself. But... we ARE looking at your Christmas pictures on the last day of March, so maybe it's not ALL Elsa's fault?? Hehe.

That gingerbread castle picture just made my entire life. I have no words!!!! And you are right, those ponies are wonderful!!! LOVE them.

I love your fireworks pictures. They are absolutely the best ever! I'm glad you brought your camera with you and didn't leave it out of commission. :thumbsup2

Your shirts are so cute - they definitely have the Christmas theme!

Nothing like starting off the party with Space Mountain and a DIS meet. Gotta love that. :thumbsup2

Yuck to the super long wait for the bus. I agree that Pop always has multiple buses which has to turn into better service.

LOVE your pictures!!! I'm so jealous!! Your photography skills are amazing!!

I loved how the parade floats piped a smell out that went with the float.

Oh yeah, and I don't see anything remotely inappropriate about their photo. That is so weird!
