YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Oh Brenda! Your pictures of NFL at night are breathtaking....oh I can't wait to see it....just 4 and half more months!!! Sounds like a great evening and you have made me curious to try EMH at MK again! The last time we went, and it was awhile ago, it was a madhouse...but I guess we just have to stay longer :lmao:

Wow you had a wonderful evening, I loved all your photos and you really did close the park down didn't you :)

Wow! You've been updating like a mad woman. :thumbsup2

Something I could clearly learn from. :rotfl:

One of these days we'll be in the same place at the same time, and when we are I'd like for you to teach me how to use my camera as well as you do. I think you've said you use a one step down from a DSLR point and shoot, and since I have a really nice one that my hubby got me for Christmas, I'd love for you to give me some pointers. ::yes::

Your pictures, as always, are so beautiful. :lovestruc
I think it's funny how you and Em get separated from one another when you are shooting pictures. Mackie gets just as frustrated with me for taking too many pictures. She's usually walking ahead of me because of it.

I love being in the park at night, there is something so beautiful about it being all lit up and hardly anyone there. I love being able to walk on all the rides and being able to turn around and ride it over and over again if it's something we really love. Mackie and I have been known to do that on Splash and caught Wishes during the ride, the best part is seeing Wishes when you are about to take the plunge down the big hill. :goodvibes
You can pretty much walk on in the mornings too, another favorite time of the day for me. ::yes::
Nothing like starting your day in MK with some thrills right off the bat to wake you up! :goodvibes Get's your blood pumping and adds a great start to your day.

What a nice jaunt back over your resort. When you said you left when you did and got to your resort when you did I was thinking how in the world did you do that?!? But I forgot you were just a stone's throw away from the park, that must be the best feature about staying at BLT. :thumbsup2

Staying anywhere that requires a bus is at least a half hour to an hour to get back.

Y'all still have a few more days to go, huh? :)

Dinner at Kona sounds and looks delicious! Is it weird that in my mind it’s only a breakfast place?! Bahaha. I’ll have to remember to check it out!!

Love the pics of the poly at night, and glad you found Em again! Ah Wishes from the beach!! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do that!! Definitely something I plan on checking out!

UGH CTM!! The lanterns & the “started by a mouse” part seriously tear me apart, like, I’m totes nearly crying now, bahaha. It’s just so amazing!

…..why have I never thought of going on the speedway strictly to quote ricky bobby…..

ARIEL DOESN’T HAVE ICE CREAM HAIR ANYMORE?!?!!?

Have to agree that I’m just not a fan of enchanted tales, I’ll do it when there’s a newbie with me, but that’s about it…

Great nighttime shots around the park!!

I love your Poly pictures!

EMH in Fantasyland. I love it! What a great way to end the evening.

I remember the ice cream hair! I think that surprised me most when I saw it in WDW for the first time... no, actually I think it surprised me first when I went to DL again and it was "fixed". :rotfl:

I'm glad you didn't panic when you lost Em. Better to stay calm! ;)

Somehow my life was so busy I didn't ever start reading your trip report until Friday but I've just read it over the past three days! Fabulous and I've loved it all. Thanks for a fun ride and can't wait for the rest.

Great pictures in this update. Would this be the time to tell you how awesome it was to see Space Mountain with the lights on while ride the TTA on our last trip??

We even got the opposite. We got to ride Space Mountain while the lights on the TTA were on which was very weird because we could kind of see where we were going and all of the bars that were very close to us. It is definitely better the other way around. Can't wait for more!

Awesome update, Brenda.

You sure got a lot done during EMH's...very impressive.

I love how you walked right on to Pooh and Mermaid. We've yet to actually see the Ariel with the fins...I have to work on that next trip.

Your pictures around the NFL are absolutely spectacular. It truly is stunning with the lighting.

We have still not seen Enchanted Tales with Belle (not sure if Mary is getting FP for that or not).

Nice that you were able to just "walk back home" and hit the sack.

Brenda, Love your review of Kona. I feel in love with that steak also (and I'm not much of a steak eater) As for the bread, Elizabeth finished it after her meal before her Kona Cone. She mad a face when they tried to take it away after she ordered her cone.
I realized how tired I am when I first read your "NFL". I was trying to figure out how football, MK, and EMH fit together. I will say it came to me before I read on.
Love how empty MK was for you. You and Em got a lot done. Your night pictures of NFL are amazing. Can't wait to see it for myself.

I have seen the lights on in Space Mountain - twice, I think. the pictures never do it justice. It honestly just looks like a maze of metal tracks. It looks entirely different than when the lights are down. Kind of cool but not earth shattering. It sort of wrecks the illusion.

OK - that is sort of freaky that you and Rob have the exact same clock picture.

I have never been in the MK that late I wish I could hang that long - it looks so cool that late at night. Your pictures are fab. I love them.

What a great evening! And to be right at BLT. Well, that's just the icing on the cake.

I love seeing pics of an empty Magic Kingdom! I just would not be able to stay up to 1:00 to take them.

Love your nighttime NFL photos! The wall does look so pretty all lit up like that.

Side note: as of today, it looks like there is a Media event at the end of April so perhaps we will see a soft open while we are there during that time??

Eeek, I sure hope so!!! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I loved the LM ride at DCA when we went in 2012, but WDW definitely improved on a great attraction with their amazing ride building. It's a shame DCA didn't have a better space to work with, because it's a GREAT attraction!

It has to be so exciting to pass THAT DOOR now and know you have been up there to look around!! :lovestruc

Congrats on being Mother of the bride!

Congrats to Emily & Jordan, double congrats on a guy who can pick out a beautiful ring like that on his own! I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

You definitely need to drag him over to WDW a time or two! I'm happy you will get to continue the Mother & Daughter trips! I don't get to go with you guys and I would miss them!

Nighttime EMH is the time to be in the Magic Kingdom. You can get so many rides accomplished, and the later you stay the emptier the park gets. It's pretty fun to see the park so deserted, almost feels like you have the place to yourself.

I have to agree with you on the Peoplemover; it's set to an odd speed!

Great photos. I like the perspective of the castle "tunnel" looking towards Main St/Train Station...artsy!

Hi Brenda!! I hoping the same thing about the Mine Ride. We will be there from 4/21-4/25 so fingers crossed for some soft openings. There are rumors that there will be dress rehearsals starting on 4/20. Fingers crossed that this is the case!!

So, when are you going in April?

Love all the updates and photos, especially NFL at night. I hope we are able to ride the mine train in May, it sounds very likely !

Wonderful updates Brenda
I was just looking at the park hours thinking "should we do MK EMH until 1am?" Well you've just sold it :-)

Updates galore!! Love it!!

Your night photos are beautiful --- something about the lighting just makes the park so beautiful at night --- like a different place! :goodvibes

Wow! You got so much done during that EMH!

I have to agree with you about Space Mountain. I like the DL version a whole lot more just because it's such a smooth ride. I think MK's SM is more equivalent to DL's Matterhorn in terms of its jerkiness and likelihood to cause concussions :rotfl:

I'm predicting that the soft opening for the Mine Ride will begin in the next couple of weeks. Or at least I'm hoping! For New FL, they did the Media Day the day before the official opening date and after a month of soft opening activities. In any case, we can't wait to go on it in October! :cool1:

I should have thanked all those people exiting after Wishes since it made for short wait times the rest of the evening!

Yes, you have the comparison down. MK SM = DL Matterhorn. For both you need to bring a cushion for your bum and some side impact air bags for good measure.

I'm hoping it has some type of AP preview or other soft open before May 8th! If so, I will have timed our next trip well. :thumbsup2 At least you know that by October it will be open.

Hmmm.... I wonder who it was that wasn't using their cell phone?!? I tend to remember someone always having it in their bag and not paying much attention to it lol.

Do you think there is any way we can squeeze in seeing the Magic Memories and You show!?!? I have no idea where since we have so many dinners planned a bit on the later side...

I've never met Ariel in her fins! Always such a line when I've been there!

Awesome pictures of everything that night! Looks like you had a fabulous EMH! And being able to be "home" and sleeping that quickly is awesome!

Actually..... I'm usually the guilty one but Em was the non-responder this time. Hard to believe huh?

Yikes! You are right. I looked at all of our dining plans and they would be cutting it close. The only possible spot I see is after Citricos. Unless that takes more than 4 hours to be completely spoiled by Chef Philip.

Never? We may need to drag the guys there for a pose.... or let the guys do their own thing and we'll spend time with Ariel.

Oh yes! Our beds were not far away being practically next door.

Soooo, we were in EMH at the same time that night with you!! No sightings of us in your photos, however! :sad2:

You got a lot done in your short time there that evening. We were in Tomorrowland to start our EMH and ended at Pooh and TTA! Just missed you! :lmao:

I will live vicariously through the rest of your TR now that I have finished mine.

Loved your photos in Little Mermaid. We were in DL the year it first opened in DCA. We had early entry and were able to ride that without a line. Sooo glad we didn't have to wait in a line. I think I would have been disappointed. It's cute, but not a "wait in line" kind of cute.

Never have had dinner at Kona. That will be on the try it list in 2015. Hoping Poly is all done by then.

Can't wait to see where you head off to "tomorrow".

I just looked back at the photos I didn't post and I don't have any Linda sightings. Awww man, so close!

Funny but back in 2011 when Little Mermaid opened in DCA we had no comparison so didn't think much about the lack of theming for the queue. Now that it's been open 3 years there's hardly a line - it's mostly walk on. (Except when World of Color finishes, then the line gets long.)

Keep Kona on your list for trying next year and then you'll thank me after you try the bread. ;)

Loved your review of Kona Café for dinner (and I skipped ahead to breakfast, too- you know I love it!)

You may have thought we'd camped out at the Poly since we were back the next morning! We both belong to the Kona breakfast fan club!

I'm surprised to hear that you had such a wait to be seated. The restaurant is never very busy when we are there, but we are at off hours (11:30 breakfast, 5 pm dinner)

Nate orders the steak there and loves it.

I have to say that waiter did you a favor! We ordered the pineapple upside-down cake last time we were there and his description was right on!

I'd not had that long a wait for any meal at the Poly. Must just have been a busy time. The hungrier you are the longer the wait apparently.

Nate knows the good stuff! :thumbsup2

Your nighttime pictures of the Poly are gorgeous. I love the one with the matrix-like lights.
Thanks Dee! That was an oops setting on the camera! Guess it turned out well.

Sounds like what we have here is a redneck Wishes cruise! People pay big bucks for this experience!

:rotfl2: So true! Who needs to spend big money on a Wishes cruise. Just time your boat launch from the Poly just right.

Great view for Celebrate the Magic. I love that Peter Pan shot!
I almost didn't include that photo since I reached my limit so I randomly removed a photo from that section. Glad you liked it.

TTA/Space Mountain- not to rub it in or anything, but on one of my first trips to WDW, Space was undergoing renovations and I have pictures of the ride! Predigital, so I have no idea where those pictures are. The 8th grade class trip from our school often does the Y.E.S class where they ride Space with the lights on and off, but we didn't do it the year I went with Nate. We did Stitch instead! :sad2:
Oh man! That's so cool. Even the YES kids get to see it sometimes.

So let me get this straight... You went on the WDW Speedway voluntarily??? I know, mother-daughter tradition and all... Actually sounds like you have fun. And it must be much better at night, with no line to get on. I can't get past the HOT queue line and the diesel smell.

Fantastic pictures of New Fantasyland at night!!!

In the picture of King Triton, his triton looks like a dinglehopper.

Wow, really cool picture of the train station through the castle!!! Bet you can only get that shot late at night when everyone else has gone "home"

Yep. No coercion for the Speedway ride. I'm a sucker for that attraction when it means breaking all the rules of the road!

Why yes, it does look like Triton has a huge dinglehopper. He certainly has enough hair to make use of one.

bummer about the wait for Kona but glad you enjoyed the eventual meal. The bread / butter there is heavenly. Oh, and the best dessert to get there is .... the bread pudding from 'Ohana :rotfl: (if you ask nicely they will get that for you)

I think that totally counts as watching Wishes from the Poly beach - and great "Finale" photo from the boat!

The "it all started with a mouse" seen from CTM always gets me - from that moment of brilliance on the train (plus Walt being talked out of calling him Mortimore) to what we have today and what Disney and the parks mean to so many people is pretty amazing

I don't think I have ever seen Space Mountain lit up while riding the people mover, but have watched on Youtube POV ridethroughs with it lit up. Actually is probably more scary with the lights on as all the tracks and supports are so crammed in there and on top of each other and totally looks like you will hit something

Even on non-EMH hours I feel like one can get a ton done in MK after Wishes! but EMH even enhances that

I had completely forgotten about the bread pudding for those that ask nicely. I just made a note for our next trip to remember that. Thanks for the PSA.

We had perfect timing with Wishes. We had a great skipper that timed it for us so we could see the finale before we docked.

I agree Phil! I loved the DL welcome speech by Walt but the quote, "it all started with a mouse" is even better for WDW. It is a sentimental favorite for sure.

So you're saying the cover of darkness masks the reality that that structure is darn scary and you may feel the urge to duck!

I think my photo on Main Street when we arrived is Exhibit A of your observation that wait times drop after Wishes!

whew, you got a lot posted all at once.......yuuuuuuuum, breeeeeeaaaaad!!!! we aren't eating at Kona at all but we might have to go back, just for that! It looks delicious! :cloud9:

Looks like you guys had a great night with the EMH. I LOVE all your pics! it makes me so excited to go!!!!! :hyper:

I know, shocker huh? I'm usually good for an update a week.

Oh yes, that bread is amazing! I'm a big Kona fan so I'll be back for more bread.

Thanks! It was a great evening.

I just love your use of the EMH! I used them for the first time for a solo gig on Mother's Day last year and couldn't believe how much I could fit in. Hoping to maybe do something similar on our April trip, there is something magical about that time. You guys certainly got a ton done that evening. I share your feelings about ETWB, it isn't even on our plans this next trip.

I unfortunately couldn't swing a West Coast trip this spring break...but I'm hoping maybe next summer. I MUST get back to Disneyland and the beautiful SO CAL weather.

Looking forward to seeing what else you check off your must-do list!

I also haven't given my official congrats to Em, what an exciting time for you guys!

Hi Cara! I remember your solo park time when you were staying at BLT. EMH is really a great way to knock out some favorites quickly. I don't see us doing ETwB this next trip but I do love the cottage and the entire theming.

Gotta say, the weather in Orange County during summer is far better than Central Florida.

Hang in there because I will get more crossed off that must do list.

Thank you Cara! We are thrilled to anticipate a wedding in our family.

Distance-wise it's closer... 100 miles vs 150. Depending on the border crossing and where you're trying to get to in Toronto, it can take a LONG time to get there! We went to a Blue Jays game for my birthday last year and sat on the exit ramp for close to an hour and a half! It was brutal.

YAY for another trip!!!!!! So glad I can live vicariously though everyone!!

I love this picture!!!

That's awesome that the boat driver stopped so you could watch!! But swimming upstream with all those people looks... painful. A practically deserted park makes it all worthwhile though I would guess!!

It's very interesting to me that not only did people take the time to complain about Ariel's hair, but that they actually changed it because of the complaints!

Yikes! That's a loooong wait to get to a ball game! I hope the team that you were rooting for won!

I'm looking forward to another trip. :)

I suppose it was a small price to pay to arrive at the park after Wishes but our skipper was really sweet to time the fireworks for us perfectly.

Ha ha! I didn't think anything of Ariel's hair, and we certainly wouldn't have complained. Interesting that Disney caved to the pressure. Maybe they'll listen to me if I tell them bring back Ariel's sea flower in her hair.
