"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more- your Jungle Trek pictures or the commentary :rotfl2:

Ahh I LOVE the pics with Mickey & Minnie, especially since they are in their adorable winter outfits!

YAY for EE finally being up! Your ride picture is hysterical!

Mmmm Yak & Yeti!

Ahh thanks for posting the dollar values there, I was thinking of getting some rupees. :lmao:
Boo for Kali being down. You're right though, it must have seemed like a good idea at the time. :confused3 They should have shut it down while I was there -- it was too cold to ride it then!

The next time you’re here I implore you to point and yell “GODZILLA!!!” and then run away.
Trust me; it’s a load of fun.
I think I will!

AWW!!! Oh Mickey and Minnie are so so so adorable in their Christmas garb! I want to go there and meet them. Right now.

Oh It's Tough To Be A Bug eh? I won't do that. Ever. Nope nope nope. As much as it would be fun to watch everyone scream, it wouldn't be as fun if you're the one screaming! :rotfl:

That EE photo is the best I've ever seen. Johnny always looks bored on rollercoaster photos too, but I've never seen four bored in the same pic! :rotfl:

YUM Yak & Yeti! You should try the table service one some time :thumbsup2 Just for the dessert!

Your EE photo might be THE most hilarious one I have ever seen! :lmao:

What a great afternoon in AK! I love the walking trails there. And they definitely win in the holiday outfit department when it comes to Mickey & Minnie. Their Christmas sweaters are the absolute cutest ever!!

Epic EE ride photo!!! I love seeing the rest of the train double fisting the handle and one cross handed death grip. :rotfl2:
I have yet to see Devine at AK. Were you able to catch her on any other trips?

Ooh Mickey and Minnie together. When Marie and I were there in November we got a picture of the two of us with them separately back when they were meeting at Camp Mickey Minnie, but we didn't get to do them together. If she ever finishes her TR the pictures might be available for viewing ;)

Aren't they adorable though?

Also, when we saw the tigers on our November trip they took the opportunity to show us how they thought of us by bathrooming right in front of us. So maybe no tigers was for the best :rotfl:

I haven't done Yak and Yeti yet, but Marie and I are so picky that I don't know if we'd find anything. Maybe someday. Probably about the time the the hotel is built :thumbsup2

But I do agree with you, that Disney needs to work on getting things done quicker. I mean, I know it's probably an inconvenience in some ways but I feel like what they do is spread everything too thin to have so many projects in the works at once and then they all take longer than if they'd just focus on knocking them out one at a time.

Ah yes. Move all the way to the end. This ranks a bit higher in my pet peeve list than it does on yours methinks. We had an incident with this on my trip as well... and my mom, my fluffy little mother had some choice words for them.

That EE picture is hilarious!! I laughed so hard. Four people apparently just on their usual daily commute to work, and then you and that kid rockin' it! So funny.

Oh, and the photos with Mickey and Minnie are priceless. I have not seen them in those outfits and they are really cute.

I took my 11-year-old niece to "It's Tough to Be a Bug" a few years back, without giving her any hints about what to expect. She was hysterical! Completely flipped out when the bees started stinging and I'd barely gotten her calmed down from that part when the bugs exited at the end... more hysterics! Anyway, there was a man behind us who was laughing so hard at her that he had tears running down his cheeks (which made her even madder). I picture you doing the same thing...

Teresa

Oh God that cracked me up too. That's exactly what it looked like. Four people oblivious and two in the back sensing certain doom.

I didn't even know in advance about the outfits. Just playing a hunch. They are adorable.

I can't lie Teresa, I would likely have been laughing hysterically too. I never like to see or hear children in distress, but here that all goes out the window. Endless entertainment.

Minnie and Mickey in those Christmas outfits are seriously the BEST!!! pixiedust: Love it!!!

That EE picture is too funny!!

I do love Kali....but you get SO wet, so we do skip it sometimes (unless we bring full body ponchos!)

By the way, are you about get to get a huge snowstorm? I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning, and they were complaining about another round of snow here today (~2 inches!), and they said "it could be worse, we could be in Nova Scotia!" and talked about the storm heading your way next, and being a "meteorological bomb"!:laughing:

I was so glad I checked Julie. It certainly wasn't a planned thing, I just happened to walk by and wonder if they might do something for Christmas. So happy they did!!!!

OMG I know!!!

I'm not sure I'd have ridden it anyway for that very reason. Actually I probably would have. :p

Oh yeah!!! BIG STORM. Blizzard actually. Many are referring to it as White Juan 2. For reference, White Juan is the unofficial name given to a storm back in 2004 (named after Hurricane Juan that previous September that devastated the city). The snowfall total of that one... 96.5 cm or around 3 feet!!!! Thankfully this one isn't half of that, but still definitely a big one.

:lmao: you have put quite some thought into this! I just think that they look at us like we are stupid and if they ever get the chance they will definitely tear us limb from limb. It also freaks me out just how much they look like people.

Haha I know, I really have. It's their giant hands that freak me out and the damage they could do with them. Nothing but pure power. Fascinating to see... from a distance.

Very cool animal photos!

I'm sure Mickey and Minnie's Adventures by Disney guide snaps photos of them. Shameless promotion!!

CHRISTMAS SWEATERS!!!! How cute are they? And you've even got the big guy on your shirt.

That ride picture is great. The guy in the black shirt looks downright bored.

Aww thanks Courtney.

Adventures By Disney Guide!!!!! Of Course!!!!!!

Totally, and he LOVED that shirt (obviously, who wouldn't). They were so cute in those outfits. So glad I happened by.

Oh God I laughed when I saw that. WOOSAH!!!

I love the theming of Animal Kingdom. It's hard to take a bad picture in that park.

You are so right about that. The place is downright gorgeous. That and World Showcase are a photographers dream.

Mickey and Minnie look pretty dapper in those Christmas sweaters, I have to say. Glad you could get a picture of them wearing them.
I always love when it's both Mickey and Minnie, it's fun to watch them interact with each other.

That EE photo is hilarious! Man, you would never have guessed those folks were on a roller coaster. Like, they almost downright bored, like they're stuck in traffic or something.

Good to hear Yak and Yeti is a good quick service location and that it's best to transport it to another restaurant.

Oh me too Alicia. Just dumb luck that I happened to pass by and even better there was no line. And that's so true. I really miss having them together for photos, so that makes it special right there. Their interactions are precious.

RIGHT??!! That's exactly what it looked like. And what made it even funnier to me, was I don't even think they were "posing". Just bored.

It is REALLY GOOD. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a table, but they do fill up quick. But yup, totally portable, so no biggie.

I love Animal Kingdom. Who am I kidding I love all of the parks.

I have to laugh at the people who don't "move all the way to the end of the row". What is so hard about following the rules. Maybe they're the same ones who take pictures with their iPads and tablets...

Oh me too. Even though it's probably my least fav overall, that's not really saying much since I still love it so much.

Bahaha, that may be true. Sometimes it makes me laugh, and other times it just infuriates me. It depends on the situation.

I haven't seen that currency board before!

What a bummer that EE and Kali were both down, and you had a somewhat disappointing Jungle Trek.

And I am waiting to see your picture of Tony the Tiger magically appearing "Right under those trees"

We haven't eaten at the Yak & Yeti CS. Just Flame Tree and Tamu Tamu (and that really is a place even though nobody knows it is there)- the seating is really nice.

Too funny about ITTBAB! You hit the nail on the head- the best part of the attraction is the audience's reactions- crying and screaming. We took the boy in 2008. I think they were 10 and 7- I clued my husband into the effects but we didn't tell the boys. They won't go back.

And somehow I missed out on the mother of the year award that year!

Glad you got another go on Everest!

Very cute meet with the Main Mice!

Definitely keep an eye out. There are loads of things I discover each and every visit. No lie, that "crumbly" statue with the feet? First time I ever noticed it. Like, how is that possible????

Yeah, you take away those two rides and the park starts to feel a lot smaller. And having to depend on the animals, which is always a crap shoot, is not really a great substitute. Howeer, the park is so pretty, it's hard to complain.

Bahahahaha, I honestly considered that Dee. I really did. But I do have something special coming up in the next update. ;)

Animal Kingdom has such wonderful CS spots. Possibly the best of all the parks. Yak and Yeti has such great and unique food, and well Flame Tree (insert "drool" smiley here). Tamu Tamu I'm not familiar with though.

I honestly am not the type of person who ever takes pleasure in other people's misfortunes. But here I just can't help myself. It's just way to much fun!!! Aww you should get the award anyway. You take them to Disney (and Universal) afterall. Who can blame you for doing something for yourself once in a while?

Oh me too. Perfect timing there. Sadly, my last Everest ride of the trip. But believe me when I tell you, the rest of the trip made up for that a million times over.

Seeing the two of them together again, in those precious outfits, you can't put a price on that.

Love your PP photo on Everest!! That is pretty funny!

Great meet with the Christmas mice!!

No Kali? :sad1: Only because it was warm. Not a big fan usually as I always seem to be the one facing backwards as the raft goes downhill. And we ALL know what that means!!!

No Tigers?!!!!! :scared1: I wonder what tree they were hiding under that afternoon?

Great photos. Looking forward to the meets!

One of my favourites ever. Such a great contrast.

Aren't they just lovely??? Any chance you get to meet them together is so worth it.

I did know in advance that it was in refurb, but I'm sure Disney was not expecting the temps we were having. I've been pretty fortunate on this in the past in that I haven't been drenched. Somehow I've lucked out of not being in the "sweet spot".

Fabulous updates!! MAN do I miss me some Animal Kingdom!
Love the stories, UGH, FOTLK THEATER WHY ARE YOU NOT DONE YET?!?!!?

…seriously though..

"under those trees" wow…I feel like that might become a new inside joke for future trips… :rotfl:

YES! UGH, the "matience issue" about that statue!! I was walking into AK one day solo and heard a middle aged woman complaining about the sidewalks and saying "you think disney would have the money to do something about all these cracks…" …DERP…lady…it's part of the themeing, just go with it!

Yay for characters being awesome and lines being non existant!

AHAHAHA that ride photo is the best! Like, clearly, the back row is experiencing something now one else is haha!!

Can't wait to read more!!

Aww Katt Thank you!!!! It was both cool AND sad to see the construction. Sad obviously that the show is now closed, but really excited to see the new theatre. I honestly think the show is going to be better than ever. And obviously, that's saying something.

BAHAHAHAHA... YES!!!! Whenever someone asks for something like the directions to the bathroom.... "It's over there under those trees!" :rotfl2:

O... M... GOD!!!!!! Katt, I am so saddened for the world that people like that live in it. But God Bless 'em. They sure do provide some entertaining commentary, because THAT quote has me :rotfl: Like I'm dying!!!

I do love me some characters ESPECIALLY with no lines, because as you well know, character hugs RULE!!! Next update I met a pretty rare character too, at least rare to me. :)

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what we were seeing that the others weren't. I think they may have been sampling the plant life, if you get my meaning...

Yay!!! You did get to ride EE :).

Ugh, those people that stop mid-row because they want the best seats. Did you ever get "stuck" next to such people? Yup, I did. What's worse is that it looks like you are with them. I don't like to correct strangers so I didn't day anything. Just waited for them to realize. In the meantime, I looked like a rule breaker...

I sure did!!!! So happy to get in one more train ride. God I love that ride.

Oh I absolutely have had that happen to me. A bunch of people stopped mid row, so my group couldn't even get by to move all the way down. So we backtracked and were going to walk around the front to get to the other side. As we were doing this, the CM's told US to hurry up and sit down. I was SO ANGRY and I "may" have said out loud that I'd love to if people would follow the rules and move to the end of the row. It takes a lot for me to lose my cool, but when I do... look out.

Reading along with your TR and realizing that I was clueless as to the adorable Christmasy Mickey and Minnie makes me so sad! Why did I not pay attention and see where those characters are located? :sad2: I'm going to blame the fact that we don't spend much time at AK park.

Looky there, the currency board included the Canadian dollar! How very nice of them to think of you!

Godzilla! :lmao:

Am I the only one that will say that bat needs a pair of underpants? they usually have their big ole bat wings acting as a cape.

I believe there needs to be a rule that if you are in the front row of EE you need to show some excitement. Come on people you just escaped a Yeti!

So what's in that Yak & Yeti to-go container?

Oh Brenda, I feel so bad. This is the second one I failed to tell you about. BUT, if memory serves, you may not have had the time anyway. I think you pretty much went right to lunch and then we met up, and then you left. I stil wish I had mentioned it though (and Santa Goofy). :sad1:
But I DO have a special surpise coming next update that I'm sure you're going to want to frame, lol. Maybe two!

I KNOW!!!! That really made me smile too. Disney is so thoughtful.

You want to do this now, don't you??

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! I saw that photo and was honestly thinking maybe I shouldn't post this. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed though. ;)

That photo just slays me. I have never seen anything quite like it. I swear they weren't even trying.

Haha, that was S&S chicken and rice. I totally forgot to take a photo of the Y&Y sign, so this had to suffice. And I even forgot to take a picture of the food itself. Bad DISer.

Love that the head mice were in their adorable matching Christmas Sweaters. So very festive. :)

I agree about the Gorilla's. Monkey's, Apes, Gorilla's, Orangutan's. Not a fan. I used to work at a zoo and every now and then I got the unfortunate assignment of having to work in the monkey house. Hated having to work in there. Stinky and being started at by the Male gorilla was scary. I used think one of these days he is going to get free.......

So happy that you got to ride EE. LOVE the ride picture, that is hilarious. The 4 guys are just chillin out like they are just riding in a car, no Yeti coming after them. :)

It was PERFECT!!! So glad I stumbled upon that area. Otherwise I surely would have missed that wonderful photo op.

They terrify me. But I would say it's a respectful terror. They just have so much power and just the thought of what they're capable of is scary. But yet I love watching them. I'm the same way with snakes. I HATE them, yet I can't look away.

I was so happy it was running again. A visit to AK just wouldn't feel complete otherwise. The thing about the photo is I could understand 1 or 2 or maybe even 3, but all four so chill was hysterical.

Great EE pic! Holiday Mic & Min are the cutest!!!

Thank you!! I love that photo. And you just can't beat meeting the mice together, ESPECIALLY in Christmas outfits.

Godzilla!! :rotfl: I'm not sure I would have the guts to do that but I might have to think about it. Problem is I always go in cooler times and he's never out.

I did not know that Mickey and Minnie meet in Christmas attire. Definitely adding that to my list for my trip later this year!

I totally feel you pain on the pet peeve of people stopping in the middle. I know this is probably terrible but if someone does that in front of me, I will just crawl right over them making sure that I step on some feet as I'm going. That will show them, right? :rotfl:

Yeah for EE finally being open! That ride photo is hilarious. I swear the kid in black is about to fall asleep. I've never tried it but I read somewhere that they can adjust the photo so you can be seen more. You may want to try that next time.

Can't wait to see who the unexpected and rare character is!

Oh you have to do this at least once Arianna. Trust me, it's too much fun.

I wasn't sure either, but I figured there was a chance and I was SO HAPPY they were. Those outfits are precious! Love them together.

I seriously LOVE that!!!! Because you just KNOW they're doing it on purpose. I understand wanting to sit in the middle, but there are ways to time it. Stop in the middle, you deserve to get your feet stomped. :thumbsup2

I was so worried I'd miss out too so I just had to keep checking. I swear I have NEVER seen a group look more calm than this one.
Back before the digital photos, I have actually had them move the photo around like you're saying, so I know it was doable in the past for sure. I'm not sure what they're able to do now, but I think I will ask next time. I've noticed since Attractions+ (and memory maker), the ride photos all look different thank they used to. Everest was the worst of the bunch though.

Awww, I'll accept both equally Alexis. :)

Oh me toooooooo!!!!!! Having Mickey and Minnie together is perfect enough, but in those outfits. :lovestruc

Right in the nick of time too since I had other plans for later. And that photo was the icing on the cake.

So good right?? One of my fav CS in all of Disney.

Ahh thanks for posting the dollar values there, I was thinking of getting some rupees. :lmao:
Boo for Kali being down. You're right though, it must have seemed like a good idea at the time. :confused3 They should have shut it down while I was there -- it was too cold to ride it then!

That EE photo is the best I've ever seen. Johnny always looks bored on rollercoaster photos too, but I've never seen four bored in the same pic! :rotfl:

YUM Yak & Yeti! You should try the table service one some time :thumbsup2 Just for the dessert!

You are quite welcome Wendy, but I make no guarantees that the exchange is still true. ;)

Oh yeah, I totally understood the thinking and you can hardly fault them for it. But I'll take the weather I had over no Kali every time.

You have to now!!! Resistance is futile! ;)

Absolutely adorable always. I want to see them right now too, even with all the lovely "Spring" weather we're having.

OK, so you've never seen this show????? Oh Wendy. I'm telling you now, if we're ever there at the same time, I'm making you go... if only for my own morbid entertainment.

I've done the "fake" bored before, but I'm convinced this was no fake. I've never seen anything like it.

I so love the CS. You know, I've never done one single table service ever in Disney. Not one.

Serenity now, insanity later :)

Haha, totally!!! :thumbsup2

I'm loving your report, from the details, the pictures and the humor- great job!! :cheer2:

Aww gee THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH and WELCOME!!!!!!! I'm so glad you're here to follow along. And if I can be so bold, I think the best is yet to come.

OMG I KNOW!!!! I have never seen anything quite like that EVER.

It was sure a lovely day so far. I love the trails too, even though the animal sightings were a bit scarce.
Mickey and Minnie's outfits were unreal. And to think I hadn't even planned on meeting them. So lucky!!

glad you enjoyed taking in at least the theming of the trail and Animal Kingdom as a whole ... and a complete lack of tigers is one way to ensure the safety for guests ;)

"gosh Minnie, you'll always be a princess to me!"

the hotel that is opening "Next Season" reminds me of this tex-mex place we used to go to that advertised "free beer mañana"

Also glad you did get another ride on EE - though definitely need to check the pulse of the riders in front of you, that one guy in the front seat looks like he is asleep! Come'on folks, just because the Yeti doesn't move doesn't mean you can't!

How did your head get cut off?? Picture fail!! Love the update!!

Ugh. These new digital photos are not the best. Either that or the cameras need some tweaking. EE is the worst of the bunch for sure.

Epic EE ride photo!!! I love seeing the rest of the train double fisting the handle and one cross handed death grip. :rotfl2:
I have yet to see Devine at AK. Were you able to catch her on any other trips?

I love that photo. I almost forget that I'm even in it, lol.

I have seen her a few times actually, even had a photo with her.

It's such rarity nowadays that made it even more special. They're great anyway obviously, but together, nothing like it.

Adorable to the MAX!!!

Ooh, I have seen that also Amber. Definitely not a memory you want to remember.

Hahaha, yes I've been waiting forever for that hotel it seems. Yak and Yeti is REALLY good though if you like Asian food. The sweet and sour chicken (or pork) and rice is just a nice change from the burger/fries combo. And it's not at all spicy ;)

One of my biggest criticisms of Disney is how slow they are to get things done. New DVC hotels... BOOM, done. But stuff in the parks is a snail pace. Don't get me wrong, everything they do is top notch and worth the wait, but it's not a good image in my opinion when you have Universal banging out new stuff so frequently.

Ah yes. Move all the way to the end. This ranks a bit higher in my pet peeve list than it does on yours methinks. We had an incident with this on my trip as well... and my mom, my fluffy little mother had some choice words for them.

It's definitely up there for me too Dani. Mostly because it's just so darn rude and inconsiderate, and that ticks me off maybe more than anything.

Great update! :)

Thank you so much wiigirl.

glad you enjoyed taking in at least the theming of the trail and Animal Kingdom as a whole ... and a complete lack of tigers is one way to ensure the safety for guests ;)

Well now that's a good way to look at it Phil. Of course that wasn't in my mind at the time, lol. BUT, the trails and theming are still worth it.

RIGHT??? You get it!

Hahahaha. Yeah, I kinda like that. Too funny.

I was so thankful for that. Incomplete day otherwise. But I have never seen a group like that before. I wonder if they were all together or if this was just a big fluke. Definitely one for the books though.

:)Another great update. I'm surprised the currency board didn't show "disney dollars (I still have a few).

Your spontaneous decision to check out the character meets at the Adventure's Outpost was a stroke of genius that really paid off. It looks like you had some quality time with the christmas themed Mickey and Minnie.

You certainly see/notice alot more then I do - "maintenance issues, godzilla".
I'll make it a point on future visits to just slow down, maybe even stop and read the signs!

Hi Rob! I've been MIA since February but I'm back and I'm all caught up! Great updates, looks like you had a great time! You did a wonderful job commemorating Walt's birthday! Can't wait to read more!
