DREAMing, some MAGIC and a little bit of Paris! Trip report link!

Plans continue to sound great, Karin. The food...well you know what I think about all of your food pictures. And I so want to see Castaway Cay one of these days. Too bad we can't just take a cruise to go there for a couple of days.

Plans were not bad, unfortunately we did not stick to all of them, but we had such a lovely week. :thumbsup2
Oh, and a cruise to just CC! That would be my ideal cruise. :cool1:

Karin I have been working and tired and barely on the Dis this week. Have a Magical trip , loved the post today !!! Question Do you have a link to book a FP for BOG as the one in the thread is not working !!??

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you earlier, Rosie, but when we returned it was straight back to work and I have been "knocked out" by the flu for the last three days. I am finally coming together again and with a week of sickleave ahead I will try to make up for lost time.
Rosie, the BoG link I posted in your TR is the link I used. Be aware, these reservations only open up about a month before. It did not let me book for a long time, but about 4 weeks before our trip it would work perfectly well for me. :goodvibes

Have a great time! My son is at WDW at this moment, they are staying at BWI. He was awarded an all expenses trip from his employer. One of his restaurants is in the top ten nation wide in sales! He's loving it as here were have lots of snow!

Thank you, Doris, we did have a wonderful time. Unfortunately the week went by FAR too quickly.
Congratulations to your son! How awesome for him to be awarded such a nice trip. Hope he enjoyed it.

Was anyone else watching the webcam today? I was! I clearly saw Karin and Tom on their balcony! They even had a flag draped over the rail. I tried to get a screen shot, but it came out really blurry. I'm sure it was them. I could see them clearly but when I stopped the video to take the screen shot, it got blurry. We have sailed in the cabin they are in this cruise, so I knew just where to look. They are dead aft, 2 decks above the flag pole.

If you want to see the replay video, go to portcanaveralwebcam.com, scroll to the bottom of the page to the link for sail away video, then input Disney Dream and Sunday's date.

I was waving like a crazy person at my computer screen. Do you think they saw me? No??? OK, I thought not but it was fun anyways.

Now, that flag paid off well! :rotfl2: It was so fun to get a few messages right away, telling us that we had been on the webcam.

Have a great trip!

Thank you! We did! It was an awesome vacation. :goodvibes

Have a great time!!!!

Thanks, Kathy! We loved our vacation ...... lots to tell and post about. ;)

Karin & Tom, you are now webcam stars! I just went back and watched the sail away video and, yep, you two were right there on your balcony. The webcam even zoomed in on the two of you. Hope that you're having a great time!

:goodvibes Looks like that flag paid off big time. ;)
It was such a great start to our vacation - we had an awesome time and I cannot wait to go back to the US in 13 months time. :scared1:

Have fun!

Jill in CO

Thank you, Jill! We did! :goodvibes

:goodvibes

Watched your sail away video. :)

:thumbsup2

Yes, that was me! :jumping3::jumping3::jumping3:
Your flag really did pay off, as you got some great screen time!

It did, didn't it? Money well spent! :goodvibes

You have a cabana at Castaway Cay, right? Sure wish we could all be there with you. I guess if we were, though, the cabana would be a bit crowded.
:jumping1:party::jumping1:

Yes, we did! Another great investment. It was so nice to have somewhere to retreat to after being in the water - which was a bit on the cold side. ;) And it was so easy to just change into something dry after swimming.

Relax, have a great time. You can tell us all about it after you get back.:beach:

Exactly! And now, since I have started the TR, I can still use this one to finish off the Paris TR as well. ;)

Can't wait to hear all about it! Nice to have the pixie dust too!

I hope we won't disappoint you, Teresa. It was a really nice and laid back vacation, just what we needed. And being able to get to a room, a perfect one as well, early, was awesome.:cloud9:

I just watched the sail away video too! So glad you brought that flag & they zoomed in on you both! So exciting! Can't wait to see your pics & read all about your adventures!!!:woohoo:

:woohoo: Mary Ellen! So nice to see you again, here!
Sailing out was awesome, we were hopeful we would be recognized, but I would have never thought that they would zoom in on us like this. ;)

Karin, glad to hear you're checked in to a great room at OKW! Can't wait to hear about your experience with fast pass plus.

We could not believe our luck when we heard they would have a villa available! Preferred area and higher floor - there was nothing left to be desired. :goodvibes
Oh, FP+ worked great for us. We got to do everything we wanted, plus, since we did not have to wait in lines for the main rides we could fit in a few others as well - we LOVED it. :thumbsup2

I was hoping we would be able to swing down to WDW in the next couple of days, but as of now it doesn't seem likely. It is a shame when life's responsibilities get in the way of our heading down to the parks to play. We live so close, but lately we can't seem to get ourselves there! :earseek: I guess that means you and Tom won't have to worry about us stalking you in the parks! :teeth: I hope you have a great time! Oh, if you see Mickey, tell him we will be there real soon!

It would have been great to meet up at the parks, but that's life - sometimes real life just gets in the way of our fun with Mickey. ;)
Guess we will be back in the summer of 2015 for two weeks and maybe we can plan a meet then. :goodvibes

Holy cannoli do I have to catch up!! I'm on it Karin

Take your time - I am slow at updating here anyway. :lmao:

Glad to hear you made it to OKW!

It was awesome to be "home" again. I cannot tell you how much I love that resort. :cloud9:

Welcome back. Don't start too soon...I'm leaving Saturday for nine days. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Enjoy your vacation. In the meantime I am trying to provide some reading material when you get back! :goodvibes

Wait one minute! There are two donuts missing out of that KK box. You need a do-over pic! :rotfl2:

How could that be? :scared1: They must have miscounted. :rotfl2:

Love, love, love your teaser pictures and I can't wait to hear all about it!

I am glad you enjoyed the teaser pics. I have started my TR in the meantime, but we are (again) off to a slow start - only two updates posted. ;)

Next time I want to watch you sail away from the upper deck at Fishlips! Actually, I'd rather be sailing away with you! :boat:

Then please mark March 29 on your calendar! We will happily wave at you.

I'm glad you loved 8188, but can't that be our little secret? That room is hard enough to get as it is! :teeth: Oh, I loved your chocolates on a string!

We were in awe with the stateroom. So nice to be right there in the very back. And even though you could feel it moving when backing into port, it was nothing bad.
The kids in the stateroom underneath ours really got into the "fishing" of the chocolates on the string. :thumbsup2

Those sail away videos really are awesome. I have yet to get as good coverage as you and Tom got on this cruise. We have usually been on an upper deck because I thought we would get better coverage there. I may have to rethink that plan.

If I can give you a hint - bring a flag or poster and you will stand out or that webcam. ;)

Welcome home Karin! Love the sneak peek, and so glad you had a great trip

Thank you, we had a really wonderful trip - as always it was FAR too short, but wonderful indeed! :goodvibes

What Jeannette wrote! :grouphug:

I will never catch up but will try to at least skim! Rosie and I seriously considered the cabin right under yours... Even had it booked for about a week!! So happy you enjoyed it so much! :cool1:

Christine, there are links on the first page, might help you skip some chit chat.

It would have been nice to have you in the stateroom beneath ours. We did talk about that a lot and I am sure if it would not have been for your health issues you both would have enjoyed the cruise a lot. :goodvibes

Yay, you're back :) Can't wait to hear all about your trip. :goodvibes

We had such a wonderful vacation. Glad to have you on board for the trip report. :goodvibes

Welcome Back Karin! Looking forward to your adventure! I love your intro pics! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Tammie!
It was a really nice vacation, we really enjoyed it so much. Glad you like the pics, there are a lot more. :thumbsup2

Yay welcome back! (but I know you secretly hate it :rotfl:)

I'm going to guess you were watching Notting Hill on the plane ride to MCO?! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the sneak peeks! Looking forward to hearing all about it:)

How did you guess we both are not happy being back. ;) :lmao:

Yes, we did watch Notting Hill while eating, there was nothing that was interesting on the in-flight entertainment schedule, but Tom had brought a few episodes of Hell's Kitchen, which we viewed later in the flight.

Welcome back Karin & Tom
Can't wait to hear all about your trip :)

Thanks, Linda!
It was a lovely trip, just went by far to quickly. :sad2:

Welcome home Karin and Tom!

Love your sneak peek pictures. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear all about your adventures on your trip. And thanks for having a Konk Kooler in honor of me!! :)

Thank you, Elaine!
I am glad you like the sneak peek! ;) It was a beautiful trip, we were just sad that it was so short. We both would have loved to stay longer.

Welcome back Karin and Tom! Love the great teaser photos. I especially love love love your DCL D&B bag Karin. Can't wait to get planning on next year's cruise. :)

Thank you, Teresa!
Ah, you noticest my newest DCL D&B. ;) I was so hoping they would have it on the Dream. I just love that style of bag and the print is really nice too.
And as far as planning goes - I just wish they would at least release the Dream and Fantasy itineraries and prices. This waiting is NO fun. :rotfl2:

Very excited to hear more about your trip.

Just checked where your cabin was - what a treat. Tried to get one of those cabins on the Fantasy last year but could only get GT and they upgraded us to a 5a:(

That was one awesome stateroom with a truly magnificent veranda. We booked the room right when they released the itinerary and were glad we did. A few months later they were only offered as GT.

Waiting here for Disney to put us out of our misery and release the new itineraries - we are off to the Caribbean in 3 weeks on Celebrity Eclipse - just know they are going to release when we are away and can´t easily book.

We are waiting too! All we want is a Fantasy cruise (maybe even a b2b if the price is right) for summer of 2015. And while I can understand that they might need some time to release the European itineraries, why can't they just give us the Dream and Fantasy ones. :confused3

Hasn´t this been a crazy Winter weather-wise? - though I´m not complaining - it´s like Spring here in Munich.

Carole, Mike and Jenny

It indeed has been a crazy winter. We had a few VERY cold days with lots of snow and then some that were far too warm. Crazy!

Now that I have finished replies and posted updates to my other two TRs I think I can now happily finish my Paris trip. Will try to do it quickly, so I can get into planning mode for our Italy and summer trips. :thumbsup2

Day 2, January 4
Christmas is still in the air ……- Part 2

And we were stunned again, lots of decorations, beautiful decorations above Main Street and a brand new Christmas Tree with lots of fun pieces of decoration.

Again, after taking a few more pictures we headed for the shops.

We started at the Emporium and worked our way up through Lily’s Boutique and the Toy Store at the end.

We crossed the street and headed into the Art Shop and when we left it we heard that the Christmas Parade was about to come down Main Street.

To be continued .....

Lovely photos from DLP Karin
I've never visited over Christmas but the decorations look lovely :)

I just love the castle there!!!
Does it feel like disney to you there? I had some issues with DL not feeling as Disney to me as WDW does. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but it was different.

Love those decorations on the tree. I don't know why I thought of this, but I wonder if anyone has tried to steal an ornament from the tree? Or maybe they're stuck on somehow?

:love:YAY decorations :santa: It looks crowded Karin, I guess from the people awaiting the parade ??

It does look crowded, but the Christmas decorations are so festive and you did a great job of photographing the uniqueness of the season! Love it!

I am sorry I have been absent here for quite a while ..........

Reason is, I have been a bit on the busy side. :rotfl2:

Let me explain. Remember, when Tom was home last year with back pain for quite some time. Now, the doctor advised him to ask for some spa treatments through insurance. He placed his request and was granted a three weeks stay at a really beautiful little mountain village for his spa treatments. Only downside, it would take about a year until he could go there. Well, last Thursday was that day. He went to Bad Hofgastein for the start of his treatments.
Before that we had a lot of running around for errands to do and last weekend I went to visit him (he asked if I could stay at the spa hotel and they have a really reasonable offer for family who is coming to visit, includes full board and entry to the spa). It's a three hour drive one way and literally everything I usually work at weekends was let undone, so there was/is a lot of catching up to do. So, DIStime was at a minimum. But I hope to be catching up soon.

Okay, and here are a few impressions of what Bad Hofgastein and its surroundings looks like .........
