Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

It's not screwy, I have just been down with a tummy bug that had me spending way too much time in my bathroom. Luckily, I ate two crackers and a piece of turkey meat, and it has stayed in my tummy so far. After talking to my friend, we may not be settled on YC. We may go for BC instead. I just need to hurry and get to working 5 days a week, so I can afford this upgrade.

I LOVED BC!! it was just too hot of a walk with DS complaining about his feet hurting, etc. the whole way from EP to the resort...food and wine girls trip in October or November would be perfect though!

I was flipping between that and ladies skating finals... *sighs* not a great day on ice for the US women. CHEERS to Team Canada and the unexpected podium of figure skating! On to Men's hockey!

I haven't gotten to watch the women's ice skating finals, but I read on Yahoo something about the woman from Russia falling and one of the US women being upset about it.

Now I'm not sure the BC/YC is in the budget. The only room category available for our dates at those resort is a lagoon/pool view. That bring my part of the resort to a little over $1,100. We may end up at the WL or AKL, as those prices are better for me.

Remember way back in the day when I joined this group and my dilemma was whether the deluxe resorts were worth it??? My how I wish I hadn't even tried....and CL.....so wish we hadn't done that too.....I wish I could book us at POFQ or POP and know everyone would be perfectly happy. I have created monsters people.....MONSTERS!!!!

That is my random Friday thought.

Friday ugh...I am the weekend warrior...I really dislike Friday..LOL. except the fabulous babyberger crew is going to POR!!!!

Speaking of deluxe, I love my deluxes. But my awesome family is happy anywhere and everywhere, WDW is such a happy place, its all good..from POP to RPC. Family vacation time is a gift we must embrace and cherish

We made the switch from POR Royal Room for 12 nights, to Wilderness Lodge Club level... We wanted to do the Poly and had saved up enough to do a regular room, but due to construction and all the closures, we decided the $50 difference in price from poly to club at WL was worth it.

We are going Nov. 9-20.

So here's counting 262 days to go.

Welcome to the coolest gang ever!!! And WL!! Woohoo nice change!!

Don't give up! I was able to move down to a SV room at mil rate last trip after calling back a few times, especially as you close in on the 6 month and 2 month points.

DH has started to lean that way -- after being a bit wary of YC he now is eager to try for a deluxe if we can. I talked about downgrading Sept to save money for Oct and he was like "no, no... it's a good price and the location is great!"

This is so true!!! I wish more people got this on vacation - always breaks my heart to see that family where Mom and Dad are dragging tired kids and say "We spent a ton of money so we're going to have fun!!!"

Getting together for lunch today with my friend who just got back to Disney -- she was so surprised by her goodie basket! hee hee!!! can't wait to pick her brain. She also did Disney at Christmas two years ago so we have LOTS to talk about!

I will probably be MIA this weekend and through Monday - going to my folks and then Monday I get a radiation injection into my hip to try to keep the bad stuff from growing back. My condition causes the hip to attack itself creating little nodules of 'junk'... the radiation should slow the process down bunches which means less surgery and healthier hip!

I almost forgot to mention our fall plans. I went ahead and booked BWI since F&W is a week earlier this year. That way I could make sure to get the mil discount. If renew the offer it again for after late Sept, we'll change to late Oct.
I have this plan in the works, I want to get AP's this year. If we do, we'll use them this year in late Oct, and then in early Oct in 2015. It's always fun to plan WDW trips!

I can't believe the discussion is still going! At first I thought "man, this guy is picky" but after seeing the posts about his first trip and some of the stuff in between it reminds me of the customers I had in my 10 years in retail who found ANYTHING to complain about to get a discount. What makes it even worse is he had legitimate issues but seemed to fixate on the irrelevant! I am glad he finally got his knob, though. <-- not at YC!!!


Quick poll: What are your three MUST DO restaurants at Disney? Also, what is your favorite non-park restaurant?

We are trying to branch out and try new things so I love to see what people say!

dimndgal, Had my mom read some of that discussion, I'm pretty sure of what she would have said...Might be a tad of a screw loose somewhere.
Then she would have changed the subject. I loved her sense of humor. Makes me smile remembering that.

OK, back to planning! You asked about restaurants.
Non-park restaurant: Hands down Saana. We especially like to have a late lunch there, then just share an appetizer or something light for dinner later.
Our big favorite list: Jiko, Artist's Point, Flying Fish. (We usually choose one or two of our fav signatures each trip.)
Honorable mention: Tangerine Cafe, Beaches and Cream and Crew Cup (last two for yummy burgers.)

Finally, that billboard is hilarious!!!

We are back on the AP train....it's the only thing that makes sense for the trips we have planned.

I just hope that I (nor you) run into any of those unruly CORDS in our rooms!!!!!
