DVC WDW point comparison chart

I've been looking for a point chart with all the WDW DVC resorts daily/weekly points side by side to compare points across resorts for a given season/room type, which would be extremely helpful for planning purposes to maximize your trips/points. I couldn't find one, so I created one -- here it is:
View/download PDF
View/download Excel spreadsheet

The spreadsheet can be viewed online & filtered by season(s)/room type(s)/rate(s) in the browser without having to download the actual spreadsheet -- e.g. to only compare 1-Bedroom Villas across Seasons or to compare everything except Deluxe Studios within a Season, etc. To filter click the down arrow above the column, click Filter..., then check/uncheck the values you to filter the results.

To download the Excel spreadsheet, click on the Excel link above then click on the File button in the menu along the top of Excel online, then click Save As, then click Download.

2/22 Update: Corrected incorrect acronyms, added Key for abbreviations, updated formatting for usability & set print areas on downloaded Excel spreadsheet to mirror PDF pages

2/28 Update: Duplicated key on 2014 & 2015 tabs w/links to respective official point charts for reference

Enjoy!

Weekly points never change so if you are just comparing week stays, weekly points will still apply to 2014, etc.

This statement is incorrect. As part of a point reallocation, DVC can lower the points for one room size and increase them for another within a resort. This happened at SSR to make the Treehouse Villas more expensive. The 2013 weekly rates for a THV are more than 2012, while most of the other room sizes were reduced.

Thanks for the clarification -- looks like nothing changed between 2014 and 2015 but I removed this statement in my original post to avoid confusion. Thanks!

The weekly rates for a Grand Villa at Aulani changed between 2014 & 2015. But since you are only looking at the WDW DVC Resorts (currently anyway), you wouldn't have notice that.

Yeah, I thought about adding the others, but the seasons don't line up (different dates for different resorts), so did really fit in a comparison chart format. I could add a separate tab for each one, but it would look identical to the DVC points charts (wouldn't be adding anything). Plus WDW is really where comparing points across resorts comes in handy for making reservations/planning trips. I was actually surprised GF didn't adjust points since their 2014 point distribution was just a stab in the dark without actual occupancy #s. I remember seeing something about the Aulani change but recalled (incorrectly) that it was just shifting the points within the week (from weekdays to weekends--thus my original confusion thinking the daily points could change but not the weekly).

Updated spreadsheet to enable filtering by season, room size, rate (weekday, weekend, weekly).

Excellent work!!!! Just printed it off, Thank you.....

Just remember when planning to maximize points - DVCers tend to be fairly frugal folk who don't like crowds - many of the best times to go to maximize points and the best rooms to get to do so - have availability challenges. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

(OKW is cheaper than anywhere and almost always has seven month availability - so an example of planning for the worst is saying "if we can't get the BWV standard view room, we will get an OKW studio - or would we rather spend more points and end up at the Boardwalk with a preferred view?").

There is an iPhone app called d point that has Very similar functionality. We use it regularly.

Awesome. Thanks for doing this. :dance3:
Thanks!

No iPhone for me, but thanks for letting others know :)
Also, www.tagrel.com has a points calculator. You select your dates and chose any or all of the resorts and it will show you the points for all of them.
I like that--useful for comparing a specific date; this one is still useful to get a birds eye view, or to get a view of a specific room type(s)/resort(s) across multiple dates when you are flexible on dates and looking for the best value. Thanks!

Great spreadsheet! I use my laptop for most of my point planning and wow, how nice to now have ONE sheet with all the points instead of popping up new windows with new charts to compare all the time. Very nice, thank you thank you! :goodvibes

Thanks, a nice and easy way to view the differences.
