YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Loved the update. We have been missing DL since our friends moved. The last time we were there was before Radiator Springs was finished. But we did get to see World of Color (which was awesome!) Somehow, skiing in Reno doesn't seem as wonderful as DL. ;) But my DH thinks it would be great to go with his friend on a motorcycle run to Tahoe.

We were staying at the DL Resort the summer we had the fastpasses. Any of the resorts get to use the GC entrance for early entry. That was a nice perk. But I have to say, a $$$$$$$ one.

In 2008, we were out for our friends' son's wedding. They got married on one of the terraces at the GC. Very pretty. But because of all the company they had, their house accomodations were full. We stayed at the HoJo that summer for a few nights. It was really nice!! We had a resort view in the tower! So if KatMark ever decide to come out to stay for a DL visit, have them check that out. We had a nice discount as well. And the walk to the parks isn't bad.

I'm assuming that motorcycle run won't be during the winter! I go to Reno on business occasionally and it is so beautiful there.

You are correct and something that I probably should clarify, any of the DL resort hotels can use the GC park entrance for their EMHs. You just show a Disney hotel room key - not specific to GC only. Thanks for pointing that out Linda.

The HoJo is very popular and so convenient. And Mimi's is next door. (I love their breakfast!) All good advice from a DL veteran! :)

I don't know if you were serious, but here's the link to my trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3233352

I understand if you don't have time, what with being DisBoards royalty and all! :lmao:

And there are no chapter links because I don't know how to add them. :sad2:

Thank you so much for sharing your link! I've already read through the entire TR to date. Luke is adorable. He brings back such awesome memories of when my babies were that little.

Oh, I forgot that you asked about chapter links. I'm going back to see if I can give you some pointers for that.

Absolutely!! Would love to finally meet you especially at DL of all places! :cool1:

What better place? :) Unless we ever cross paths at WDW or as my hubby would love to go to DC and see the Smithsonian. You never know! ::yes::

Friday August 23, 2013: Day 8, Part 10

Before my DL/DCA Intermission we had completed our tour of Cinderella's Dream Suite and had a moment to let it all sink in before deciding to head back to the hotel.

But wait... not so fast. Before we left I wanted to pick up a treat at Main Street Bakery/Starbucks since I had my eye on one of those cake pops.

Too bad a serving is more like 5 of these since they are really only a couple bites each.

I think this balloon vendor was hiding....

We were on the bus to YC by 4pm.

Ahhhh rest and relaxation (or otherwise known as a nap) refreshed us before our 8:15pm dinner reservation at Shula’s Steakhouse.

A selfie before we depart....

While we were walking from YC to the Dolphin hotel we had some hilarious moments. I was wearing heels and had to walk very carefully on the boardwalk part since there were gaps between the boards that just happened to be the width of my heels. There were a few times that I stumbled slightly when my heel got stuck. I’m sure I looked like I’d already been drinking. I’m graceful I tell ya!

A perfect evening!

Not to be confused with the bookend resort on the other side

We finally arrived. I think we walked the long way. We followed the sidewalk and zig zagged around the resort instead of going over the bridge in in the entrance by the fountains. Oops!

My dining review is found here and I can tell you that this was our favorite meal of the entire trip. I said that about YSH then about Monsieur Paul and now Shula’s. Honestly, all the hype about their steaks was absolute truth! For someone who rarely eats an entire chunk of meat I polished it off without a problem. That good! So YES, read all about it.

Following dinner, we thought about going to MK for an hour or two but lethargy won and we returned to the room where we were greeted with our turn down chocolates on the pillows. Nothing else exciting to tell about the night other than watching the usual Conan on TV.

Em's expression when I asked if she would give me a foot massage!

Chocolates! Those went into the drawer. I came home with about a pound of chocolates between the 2 resorts that had CL turn down service. I figure I may not eat them but my hubby loves chocolate.

That’s a wrap for day 8. Can’t say that it was a bad day at all!

I haven't been reading your food reviews, but I'm going to have to check this one out. I'm not a big meat fan, but I do want to do something special for our anniversary when we are there next fall. I've been thinking about Yachtsman, but maybe Shula's is the way to go.

Love the dresses. You both look adorable!

Oh yeah - those cake pops look like a total tease! :rotfl:

Yumm...Shula's sounds yummy. We've stayed at the Dolphin but never made it to Shula's, maybe next time. :confused3

I just love reading about you & Em's travels. I hope that my girls want to travel with me as they get older. I'm sure if it's Disney they will! :thumbsup2

Christine

Sounds like a nice night! Next trip, we are going to make a point to eat at some of the Dolphin and Swan restaurants...I've read so many nice reviews lately!

I think those cake pops are so small so you can have more than one dessert :rotfl2:

You guys look so cute all dressed up for dinner!

What a magical day! Getting an opportunity to tour the dream suite is so amazing!

Hmmm, what ever is that balloon vendor doing??? Haha, probably tired of having her photo taken... OOPS!

WOW!!!!! My God you two look absolutely stunning!! Incidentally, the WOW was not surprise, just an exclamation. (Plus, awesome job concealing the camera).

Haha, so I'm guessing a foot rub was not in the cards on this night?

It must be so fun as a mom & daughter pair to get all dressed up and go out to a nice dinner!! Both of you looked beautiful. Glad you had a wonderful dinner! :goodvibes

I had to :lmao: at Em's face in reaction to the foot massage request. I'm sure my face looks similar whenever DH asks me for one!!! :rotfl:

Those cake pops look yummy but tiny! Mmm. Shula’s sounds amazing! I could go for a steak right about now. My frozen dinner for lunch just does not compare. ;) You and Em looked great! Pretty ladies!

great update ... you had me a "meat cart" ;)

those cake pops are pretty small but they are fairly rich, and I think you get 3 for a snack credit which isn't too bad ... especially if you have little kids as they don't look too small to them

Every day that poor balloon salesman gets home, looks in the mirror and says "I don't get it ... again, not a single balloon sold! what am I doing wrong?!?!?!"

Love using the entrance to DCA from GCH:thumbsup2

I'm going to have to use your idea from SM one day! Never thought about giving a little smooch for your ride photo. I'd think you'd knock each others teeth out, but you guys did it gracefully :lmao:

I've read amazing things about Shula's! The only reason we haven't tried it yet is because we consider it 'off-site' :rotfl2: And your dresses are super cute, BTW! I need to start looking for some cute dresses to Vegas.

Do you know that I have NEVER had one of those cake pops from Starbucks. And you know I go to Starbucks at least twice a day (if not more).

We've never done Shula's at Disney, but we have eaten at the one near our home, and it was out of this world. Loved it. I did enjoy seeing the inside of the one at Disney.

Em doesn't look at all enthralled with the idea of giving her mother a foot rub. Hmmm...I wonder why. :confused3

I'll have to remember to save some chocolates for Michael when I see my best friend that I've never met.

Friday August 23, 2013: Day 8, Part 10

While we were walking from YC to the Dolphin hotel we had some hilarious moments. I was wearing heels and had to walk very carefully on the boardwalk part since there were gaps between the boards that just happened to be the width of my heels. There were a few times that I stumbled slightly when my heel got stuck. I’m sure I looked like I’d already been drinking. I’m graceful I tell ya!

:rolleyes1 I sometimes feel like I need to explain to people how clumsy I am just walking, and not that I am drunk! DH just shakes his head at me! Add heals and a boardwalk and I would be a gonner.

Shula's looks so good! The photo of the lava cake in the dining review made me want to go just for that! DH would love the decor as well, we will have to try it in a couple of years when the DxDDP no long is a savings for us since the kiddos will be "adults".

Those cake pops really are teeny weeny, but so yummy!

Shula's sounds great! Wow. That was basically the best day ever, huh? :rotfl: So awesome.

Love your trip report!! A tour of the castle suite. I call that a lot of pixie dust...and I thought riding in the Lilly Belle in June when it was 94 degrees was pixie dust.
Love your report of your Mother daughter trips. My mom and I love to travel together and my Goddaughter has been traveling with us since she was 12 and loves it. (she is 19 and ready to go on another trip!!) The memories are great!!

We've eaten at Shula's in Chicago and really enjoyed it. We may have to try the one at the Dolphin. Was it really that empty while you were there?

Heels on a boardwalk?! I have enough trouble walking in heels on a flat even surface!

Cute dresses on the both of you!

Cake pops! So small, yet so tasty!
