Spring "Break" Question

Hey all!

Our spring break is coming a little later than usual and we are heading to Disney around the first week of April. To my understand, most college's spring breaks will be over and was curious how crowded is late March and early April? I'm guessing there will still be some spring break traffic but we have never traveled this time of year.

Also, how's the weather typically? (especially temperature wise)

Thanks in advance!

FWIW, the first week of April will not be the end of spring break season...

My kids attend public school in Northern VA, and our Spring Break is the 3rd week of April (14-18). The parochial schools near us have the week after that for Spring break (ending on April 25).

I just took a look at the school district I attended as a teenager (in Southern CA) and their spring break will begin on April 7 and end April 11.

So really, it seems to me that in any given week in April, there will be schools throughout the country on "spring break"...

Spring breaks are really spread out this year due to a later than usual Easter Holiday. This is a positive thing for those of us traveling to Disney! I was surprised to see that the most of the second week of April was about a 6 (except weekends). It is my understanding that many FL counties will be out the last week of March that leads into April so there could be higher local traffic that week.

The schools around here have spring break the last week of March. DH used to be a teacher, so we've gone to Disney twice at that time. It is crowded, but the weather is AWESOME!!!

DH isn't a teacher any more, so we were able to go in January this year. However, I anticipate after we have children, we'll end up going over spring break or summer again.

The later you go in March, the more crowded it gets, I've found! Florida spring breaks are kind of all over the place...I'm at a university near Miami and our break this year is the first week of March, and K-12 students are a little bit later in March, I think around the 20th. It's all over the place, really. Season passes are blocked out for a good chunk of time in the middle of April (12-25) which would lead me to believe that there's a bit of anticipated traffic around that time.

However, any crowds are NOT going to be that bad, I don't think. Because spring breaks are all over the place this year, I really don't think that there's going to be a ridiculous amount of traffic at any one time. You should be good no matter when you decide to go!

Thanks everyone for the insight. I polled around and it does appear that Spring Breaks are pretty spread as many of you said as result of the late Easter not to mention a lot of bad weather this year.

In the past we have visited Disney in June or July and I was hoping it would be no more crowded than those particular months.

A friend of mine had mentioned that in their experience, Disney crowds are Disney crowds outside of Christmas and some of the other major events.

This is the first time attending Disney now with both kids and our youngest has a medical condition (Cystic Fibrosis) which also lead us to try a "cooler" more tolerable month.

Hoping everything works out. We are very excited about AoA. Both kids love Cars!

Thanks again all!

This is great!!!!! Our spring break is March 16th-21st....very early but it seems a lot of people are going late. Im sure it will still be crowded!!!!!!

I'm in Michigan and our public school spring break is April 7-11. It will be somewhat crowded, but the weather is AWESOME this time of year. It CAN get hot during this time though.....I'm not complaining a bit after the winter we have had!! Can't wait to get there! We wear shorts everyday! We don't even bring pants, however last year a couple of days were chilly. That was unusual though.
