Any DREAM Concierge Reviews?

My TA had no luck either. I totally get not making someone move out of 12000 but it seemed silly not to move the Cat V - we had 12008, which is one of the ones with the bump-out larger verandah; I'm sure the family would have been very happy with a larger verandah. I just wish they held the connecting rooms back until the Royal Suites are booked.

We were in the connecting Cat V to the Walt Suite on the Dream in April (our friends had the suite). My husband insists that the bathroom is nicer in that Cat V than the others. (We were in a different Cat V last year but I honestly can't remember).

I agree that I would prefer the larger balcony to the one next to the big suite. Seems like they should at least be willing to ask the guest if they would move if the larger balcony was available.

Keep checking back, maybe something will open up.

I read all through this thread and upgraded an existing reservation to the concierge level on the Dream! I tossed around upgrading at port or just doing it now.... I doubt at port there could possibly be much of a difference at all, plus I wanted one of the highly recommended rooms (and got it!) :thumbsup2 These DIS boards are one of the best things I've utilized on the internet (other than learning tools for my kids). Thanks everyone for all your input!

The staff are equally nice whether you book ahead of time or upgrade at the port. They do know but it makes no difference in how they treat you - you will get great service and all you have to do is ask. The worst that can happen is that they say no, but that isn't really a word in their vocabulary. If you want to change things that you have booked, they will make it happen. Do you want to do some of the tastings on board - they will reserve your spot for you. Do you have special dietary needs - they will make sure you are cared for. If you have problems with anything, just bring it to their attention and they will do what they can to fix it.

Have a great cruise and enjoy the concierge benefits!

Quick question

On the only previous cruise I was on, which was on Celebrity, the refridgerator was stocked with items. I didn't realize it (luckly i was told by someone before I started consuming) but you have to pay for any the items in there.

We are in a concierge family state room in June on the Dream, just wondering if there will be things in the room if we use we will have to pay extra for?

Thanks

Nope -- consume away. If you have favorites, your stateroom host will be happy to oblige. Enjoy!

We did a January/14 concierge on the dream and loved it! Danny, Anne Marie and Julia were amazing and took wonderful care of us!

I wonder if Julia will still be on he dream by december. she was in the lounge on our last fantasy cruise (if its the same person) and she was amazing....they all were :)

Julia was on the Fantasy last week (Jan. 25 - Feb. 1 sailing).

Just got off the Dream and the concierge staff members were Danny, Anne Marie, and Tracey.....all very kind and helpful!

Got off the Dream last Sunday. I don't know the other ships Danny has been on, but he was from
Bulgaria if that helps!

I'm trying to remember where Danny is from. On the shorter side, small build, dark hair?

If it's the Danny I'm thinking of, I absolutely adore him. He's been a fixture in the Magic, and just find it interesting that he would switch ships!

Yep--that's him! I'm 5'4 and I actually think he was a little shorter than me! :)

Thanks, that is "our" Danny! Now we know we'll have to book a trip on the Dream. I know he told us he enjoys the longer cruises so he can get to know his guests better. Hence my surprise at him moving over to the Dream. Thanks again!

We were supposed to go on a Dream cruise two years ago, but thanks to a long series of circumstances, we had to reschedule for this summer. Does anyone know if you can order food from the restaurants' menus to be delivered to your room? If it helps any, we're in a Cat. T (one-bedroom suite). I know you can't get Palo or Remy in those, but what about the other restaurants? TIA!

Yes, you can order hot breakfast, and dinners in the Cat T's. For dinner the lounge will have all the menus for that day. You can pick which ever MDR selection you wish, and there generally are two times to pick from. Early or late. It will be a bit later than the start of the regular dinners (i.e., I believe it's 9:00 for late dining)

Yes, you can definitely order from the MDR menu to your room, as long as you have a dining table in your room, which I assume all the Cat T's have. I was disappointed to find out that it has to be after 6 (after the galley opens for dinner, duh), which did not help us in trying to get dinner done early. We ended up ordering room service, which I do not recommend.

Danny is great, I think that he is from Bulgaria. We are big fans of Rodrigo (not sure which ship he is on currently) and Tawanda (currently on the Magic)

I think Rodrigo was on the Magic at one time, but we did not have the pleasure of his service. I always hear great things about Tawanda as well, but we've never met him either. I think it would be hard to find a crummy concierge, although I'm sure there are stories of some being just ok. Danny is a stand out to us. Love him! So are Julia, Kemisha, PJ, and Alice. We were so lucky to have Julia (again), PJ, and Kemisha on our Fantasy cruise in October, and even more excited we will see then again this October.

I think I could do a 3 night cruise in a non-concierge room (but try to upgrade at the port). But anything longer than that, I like my lounge, dinner in the room if I want it, and one stop shopping.

We sailed in a Cat T in June of 2012 with two teenaged boys and had a GREWAT time. The concierge staff was amazing and the room location of being across from the lounge was a big help to have the boys stay in the lounge while mom and dad were getting ready for dinner. It was more expensive, but IMO worth every penny.
