DCP Fall 2014

HEY EVERYONE!

I made a thread for the Spring DCP, so I figured I'd make another for the Fall!

SO ABSOLUTELY EXCITED!
Applications should be opening up within the next few weeks, so I just wanted to start another one of these to see who else is applying!

If you don't know me from the last one or anywhere on the Dis,
I'm Libby <-- basically me 99% of the time.

But I will be applying for the Fall Advantage, cause more time in Disney DUH!?

I'll basically take any role offered but due to my college major I will probably say concierge is in my top choices. Along with attractions of course cause how fun?

I wish everyone applying the best of luck & hope to have this thread get some of the applicants close like my last one did!

1. Merchandise
2. Attractions
3. Quick Service Food & Beverage

I have had experience in both merchandise and quick service! I chose attractions because that would be the best job (in my opinion!) My absolute dream would be to work on the great movie ride in Hollywood studios! Have you ever done the program before??

The GMR would be an absolute incredible role!
I have not done the program before, but know a lot of people who did & are currently doing it.
I applied for Spring, & got accepted but due to a lot of personal things I couldn't go, so I'm really hoping for Fall.

I have a friend who's doing the program right now! We applied together both times. I'm really hoping to get in this semester simply because it would be the best time because of school. My biggest fear is trying to find roommates!! I don't know why but I'm really scared of being roomed with someone that totally hates me! haha

Hi! I'm Caitlin and I'm from a big small town in Illinois. I'm a second semester Freshie at the community college in town. I have known about the DCP since I was really young. Maybe about 9 or 10? My cousin took part in it but I never knew that's why he worked at Disney until 5 years ago. I want to apply for the Fall Advantage 2014 because I want to be at Disney for 4th of July, summer, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., etc. I lived an hour away from Orlando from when I was about 1 and a half until I was 12. My family and I would go to Disney, Universal/Islands of Adventure, and SeaWorld all the time! Probably at least one of the parks every weekend or every other weekend during the school-year and basically all the time during summer. I miss it so much!!
ANYWAY, enough of me babbling on. So, my top choices are Attractions, Main Entrance Ops, Recreation, and Merch. Hollywood Studios (or, as I still call it, MGM Studios) would be my dream job location, but I will take any park or hotel!

Hey Caitlin! Good luck to you in the application process! Applications open up very soon. I am so excited! My family and I go to Disney every year for a vacation as well! Disney has been such a HUGE part of my life it just seems natural that I work there and provide magical experiences to other guests! Caitlin, is this your first time applying?

You'll have to let me know how your application process goes!

I'm sure you'll be able to find good roommates! there are a lot of pages of roommate information & people looking for roommates here on the DIS, on Facebook, & other places, so you'll be just fine!

Just wanted to give a quick heads up, that I heard applications are to be coming out on the 6th!

Not 100% positive, just what I've been told.

"The Disney College Program application will be available in early February for those wishing to apply for the Fall/Fall Advantage Programs and in September for those wishing to apply for the Spring/Spring Advantage Programs. We run a series of tests before posting the application to make sure that everything is working properly. Due to possible technical issues arising during our tests which could result in delaying the application availability, we only provide a general time frame and do not announce a specific date ahead of time.

Any claim of specific date knowledge by an individual should be attributed as being speculation on their part."

Seeing that they have always spieled "early February" and they don't work on the weekends, there is a 1 in 10 shot at guessing correctly.

So yes, there is a possibility that it may be there on the 6th, but Disney hasn't stated that anywhere that can be cited. What you have heard is someone making a guess and there is a 10% possibility of it being correct.

I'm Marcy, a freshman in a community college in KCMO. I've never actually been to WDW, and right now I'm debating whether I should apply for Advantage or not.
If I do get in, I think I'd like to stay in Patterson. I'll also attend a character performer audition.

This is interesting thread . My name is Megan and I'm from Arizona. I want to do fall 2014 because I love Disney and Universal so pus plus. Last year I went to both Disneyland and Disneyworld, and Universal (Florida). I wanted to do the program since the eighth grade and now that I'm in college I can finally apply! I work at Kohls, and have had a job at Sunsplash Waterpark before, so I have some work experience.... but Applications are next week, right? Or the week after? I've literally been checking every day this month because I want to apply first day applications are out. I'm quitting Kohls for this if I get in

I applied earlier today but I've yet to receive an internet based interview. Is it emailed to you? Also how long did it take you to get yours and is not getting mine yet a problem or just normal?
