Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT Information & Questions

I understand that all the values now have a mini fridge in each room, and I was told when I called Disney to check rates that there was a coffee maker in the rooms. Is this true?

This is not true. Regular rooms at value resorts (and that includes all of All-Star Movies) do not have coffee makers.

Family suites at value resorts (All-Star Music; Art of Animation) do include coffee makers because they have kitchenettes.

Has anyone heard of a food court remodel at either ASMo or ASMu? Someone posted about it and I have not been able to find any info.

Music is supposed to be first, then movies. :thumbsup2

You said this on the other thread, but I have not been able to find any info about it on any web sites. I am staying at ASMo in Sept and will change resorts if this is the case.

Question...do you tip the mouse keepers daily? How much?

We do also, because they can change, roughly a $1/per person per day.
We usually get kind notes from the mousekeeping, and sometimes chat back and forth by notes.
I decorate envelopes so it is clear it is a tip, not just cash lying around, and set it up by the mirror.

For anyone who has been recently...has ASMo switched over to triple sheeting yet (instead of the comforters)?

Have they brought back the chicken penne pasta (or any pasta with alfredo sauce)?

Really, honestly & truly?! Guess that means we might have to reconsider staying here again. Thanks!!

Well, at least my room in the toy story building had triple sheets. And I knew the chicken penne pasta is there bc I had it and it was delicious! We were there 2/1

This was only my second trip to Disney World and I knew that I wanted to stay at ASM because my son who is now 5 is a HUGE Toy Story fan. I was a little hesitant because of the shared bus issue and the other "negative" reviews the hotel had gotten from past visitors.

I took a big gulp and booked my trip there anyway.

To my surprise check in/out was easy peasy. I did check out very early - no line. My second to last night I had an issue with the laundry machine that took my money but they refunded me with no problems. Also the only downside I had was that it was extremely hot/muggy and it kept raining off and on throughout our stay so RC the car was grossly dirty inside (my son was disappointed he couldn't sit in him, the staff should have cleaned him up. it was really gross) and there was a not so pleasant stench soon as you got to the pool area.

Another downside was that I had called weeks prior to request a certain room number and was told although not guaranteed they would do all that they can to accommodate me. When I checked in they did not give me the room number or location (Toy Story side) I told her I needed to stay on the TS side, so she found me a room on TS side, just not the room I requested - fine, I wasn't going to turn into Cruella Deville. Instead we were placed on the second floor and around the corner. The preferred room was not an ideal location for us. I also did not like the bathroom, it was a bit dingy. I called after 2 nights to request a room change and was told someone would call me back. They never did. I called again the next night and was moved the same night on the first floor, I was pleased. The room was cleaner and it made our stay more enjoyable.

Having stayed at the Lion King suite at AOA for our first visit to Disney World, I was a bit spoiled but I was pleasantly surprised with our stay. I loved the food court and the choices. I never had a problem with finding a seat or with lines. I also did not have the shared bus issue, I think we only went to the other resorts two times and that was at night and it wasn't that crowded. We vacationed late August. I will definitely stay at ASM again (just not in August) but I also have a little princess, so I think we will vacation back at AOA little mermaid room for her birthday this year....or Pop since AOA LM doesn't participate in the promo deals.

Did you put your request on your reservation? usually they try to get you at least the section you want. But asking for a room number makes it really hard for them and it is suggested you not do that. For some reason if they can't get that exact number, they put you anywhere instead of close to that room.

When I stayed at ASMu a couple of years ago, they had the privacy curtains between the bedroom and the bathroom/sink area. I was informed not all resorts have these.

Do they exist at ASMo?

Thanks.

Yes, all the value resorts (All Stars, Pop, Art of Animation Little Mermaid rooms) have the privacy curtain now.
