It's gonna take a lot to take me away from this view! 7/10 - Finished!

How wonderful that your store is relocating. That's awesome! I also hope it ends up being great for business. It's always nice to work in a cleaner, more spacious environment.

I just love your HM pictures. I have always wanted to get that picture of the ballroom, but it never happens. It would be cool to be able to rent a lens that would do that.

All the pictures in this update are lovely and what a fun morning.

Looking forward to some BOG lunch! :goodvibes

Um... Drug Dealers??? Just... wow. :scared1:
I could tell stories about renting space in that building that most people literally don't believe. It's really sad.

Wendy, you're HM photos are fantastic. I'm taking particular note of the bride, as you really captured her in full on insanity.
Thanks! I'm a big fan of insanity. Like minds and all. :rotfl:

Ooh I LOVE that Rapunzel tower photo. Great angle. Well, I love all your pictures.
Thanks :goodvibes

OMG those Pascals are ridiculously hard to find. So frustrating, lol.
I went prepared! I knew roughly where to find them and still couldn't. Oh well, something to look for next time!

Well, you're ganna have a fan in Brenda going from Peoplemover to CoP. You know, I think the thing I love about CoP the most is it's "WALT DISNEY'S" Carousel of Progress. Honestly, how many attractions remain that are true Walt attractions?
Agreed, I love the attractions that have Walt's touch!

Excited for your BoG experience!! :hyper:

Yay for no mold and drug dealers! :worried:
Agreed! Less than two weeks to go! :cool1:

Nice photos in these updates!! We missed Carousel of Progress on our last trip --- love that ride!
It took me a few trips before I finally saw COP, now I never miss it!

Yep, I'd have to agree, your new shop sounds like a better place. :rotfl2:
Yeah, just a little bit! :lmao:

Great HM photos, especially the one with the moving coffin.
Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm jealous of your easygoing pace at MK. It must have been nice, spending the morning doing the slower attractions and resting your feet for a bit. You were definitely enjoying your time in Disney and making sure not to miss anything.
It was really wonderful, very relaxing and enjoyable!

Can't wait to hear what you thought of BoG!

I didn't know there were Pascals in there!

I'll need to look for them in July.
I think there are 12, if I remember correctly. I only found one!

Cant wait to hear about BoG for lunch!! We never made it there for lunch :(
I'm really glad we did, I can't wait to write about it!

Congratulations and Good Luck on the move of the camera shop. I am so glad it is a win-win. Do you have to do a lot of the packing?
Yes, there's quite a lot of packing but we're slowly packing it 2-3 boxes a day, moving some things down to the new place. It shouldn't be too bad when the day comes to move all the merchandise!

This picture makes me smile! We were at this scene during the backstage part of the class trip we took. We were under the HM doom buggies, and face to face with the birthday girl.
That must have been so cool! I would love to see that some day! :goodvibes

What a fantastic morning!!!

I love the nice, slow, easy, relaxed pace. What is that like???
Oh, wonderful! Slow, calm, relaxing and just absolutely fantastic.

The Tangled and B&TB areas just look so gorgeous!

The pictures of the train are awesome!!! Well, of course all the pictures are, but I really loved those.
Thanks :goodvibes

CAN'T WAIT for your lunch!

How wonderful that your store is relocating. That's awesome! I also hope it ends up being great for business. It's always nice to work in a cleaner, more spacious environment.
It will be a good move I think, it's at the other end of town, a more retail area and right next to the marine terminal where the cruise ships come in. :thumbsup2

I just love your HM pictures. I have always wanted to get that picture of the ballroom, but it never happens. It would be cool to be able to rent a lens that would do that.
I would love to stop the ride and stand up to get a better picture! :rotfl2:

All the pictures in this update are lovely and what a fun morning.

Looking forward to some BOG lunch! :goodvibes
:goodvibes

Wow your Haunted Mansion pictures are beautiful! :cool1:

Aren't the Tangled bathrooms amazing? I mean, for bathrooms? :rotfl: I have to look up the hidden Pascals before my next trip, I want to find at least one of them!

I cannot remember the last time I went on the Carousel of Progress, it's been a long time! I miss it, it's one of my favorites, I just never have time for it!

Yay, you're going to BoG for lunch? Can't wait to read about that!

Nevermind I found a link but decided I want to see how many I can find this summer before looking at it hehe

Rob is correct Wendy! I completely agree with your CoP chaser to the People Mover! :thumbsup2 That's my kind of slow easy going morning. Your HM photos are amazing. Good thing you know what that ISO stuff means! :lmao:

I can't imagine a better themed washroom area than the Tangled one. Disney can't even put character meet and greets there now since it is crowded enough with all the fans of the theming. ;) Even though I've looked up the Pascals in the past I still have trouble finding them. I guess he does a great job at being a chameleon.

Glad to hear your work location is moving. You can only improve from working below drug dealers. Yikes. I wish you all the best with the move. And stay warm. (BTW: Love your picture a day's on FB!)

I'm looking forward to your BoG lunch review. :)

Ooo, the story about the ripping contact made me cringe, and I felt like I had to read it with a squinted eye, haha. Too bad it took you so long to go back and return, but yay for making it in time for Illuminations! Great shots even without a tripod! They're so pretty!

Looking forward to reading your review on BoG!

Ahh first I have to apologize for not being around much lately! Work is really getting busy gearing up for our move and I've just not had a moment to myself. I'm behind on all your reports and my own too! I'm off today and setting out to catch up!

Wow your Haunted Mansion pictures are beautiful! :cool1:
Thanks! :goodvibes

Aren't the Tangled bathrooms amazing? I mean, for bathrooms? :rotfl: I have to look up the hidden Pascals before my next trip, I want to find at least one of them!
They're the cutest bathrooms I've ever seen! I want to find a few more Pascals next trip for sure. I'll have to look them up again.

I cannot remember the last time I went on the Carousel of Progress, it's been a long time! I miss it, it's one of my favorites, I just never have time for it!
I'll admit that as much as I love it, it's generally low on the priority list, but we always seem to have a half hour to fill before our next item on our list, so it usually gets done!

Yay, you're going to BoG for lunch? Can't wait to read about that!
Mmmmm I can't wait to write about it and remember it! :lmao:

Do you remember the link where you found the list of Pascals?

Nevermind I found a link but decided I want to see how many I can find this summer before looking at it hehe
Good luck! Haha I looked it up first and still couldn't find them. (I didn't memorize the list though, maybe next time! :rotfl2:

Rob is correct Wendy! I completely agree with your CoP chaser to the People Mover! :thumbsup2 That's my kind of slow easy going morning. Your HM photos are amazing. Good thing you know what that ISO stuff means! :lmao:
It's a nice, relaxing combination!
And thanks! :goodvibes

I can't imagine putting that much thought into a bathroom, but I'm so glad they did! They thought of everything, even the Pascals!

Glad to hear your work location is moving. You can only improve from working below drug dealers. Yikes. I wish you all the best with the move. And stay warm. (BTW: Love your picture a day's on FB!)
It's never been the wonderful situation we had hoped it would be when we moved in 2.5 years ago, so we're very happy to be getting out. And the new place has heat! Real heat that's not controlled by a very stingy landlord! :rotfl:

I'm looking forward to your BoG lunch review. :)
Me too, I'm getting ready to write it now! :thumbsup2

Ooo, the story about the ripping contact made me cringe, and I felt like I had to read it with a squinted eye, haha. Too bad it took you so long to go back and return, but yay for making it in time for Illuminations! Great shots even without a tripod! They're so pretty!

Hahaha I totally get that, I tend to squint when I'm thinking about it too. I can't believe I made it back!
BOG coming right up!

Wednesday, November 13
"Ma chere Mademoiselle,

it is with deepest pride
and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight.
And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a
chair as the dining room proudly presents -
your dinner!"

Last time we left off just here:

So let's hear the story.

Were we good Dis'ers who had a FP+ for lunch?

No.

We were unfortunate Dis'ers who, no matter which methods we tried, simply could not get a FP+ for lunch.

But it didn't matter. We got there early and were willing to wait as long as it would take. I had an hour and a half in mind and I wasn't worried. With the laid back morning we'd been having, we were both in such fantastic moods, nothing could bring us down!

We approached and saw the long line snaking around the path so we joined the end. A friendly but harried looking CM approached us and asked if we were here for lunch.

Yes!

Do we have a FP+?

No!

It's going to be about a 45 minute wait...

Sure! That's a lot less than we thought!

She handed us each a menu and moved on to the folks who had just pulled up behind us.

We settled in to wait, trying to get some pictures of the absolutely incredible scenery.

It didn't take long at all for us to be up to the gates and on the last stretch of waiting.

As we inched closer, many of the guests coming out of the restaurant were saying to all of us in the long line, "It's worth it! It's really worth it!"

That was nice to hear!

If I'd had more time I would have spent forever photographing these incredible gargoyles. But the CMs were trying to keep people waiting to go in to the far right.

Finally we were next!

I say "finally" because we had waited so long before the trip, but really our wait in line was only about 25 minutes. Score! :thumbsup2 We put that in the awesome column.

We checked in, looked at menus, and made our way through to the order kiosks.

We placed our orders and linked it to my Magic Band.

[Review:

A quick word about this process:
The wait may have been long for some people, just for a bite of lunch, but it kept moving smoothly. There were more than enough CMs working in that restaurant to keep recently vacated tables clean and ready for the next guest. Once inside the building, there were menus everywhere so you should have no excuse for not knowing what you want once you get to a kiosk. When you get to the kiosk, there is a CM there to help you should you need help, but the process is very easy. Linking it to your MB is easy and works well. It was nice to pay and have the food come to me all in one swipe.]

We decided to sit in the Ballroom. We knew we were coming back for dinner that evening, but knowing that they seat you for dinner, meaning we had no choice of room, we decided to use this opportunity to make sure we got to sit in the Ballroom!

We found a beautiful little seat for two against the wall, opposite the windows. I sat there (since the food was coming to my MB) while Johnny went to get us our drinks.

I took pictures while I waited (of course I did.)

I was wishing I'd had a tripod to take some nice pictures in there, it was very dark, but I managed to get some anyway.

Johnny was back soon and we had to check in.

[Facebook: Check in.

Johnny with Wendy at Be Our Guest Restaurant.

Bertha, Kylend, Sarah and 3 others like this.

Monique [<-- Travel Agent/Mother in Law] looks awesome how is the food? and how is the bracelet working ?

Wendy: Well that was for lunch, and the food was great! I'll tell you about dinner later tonight. Magic bands working awesome so far

Sarah: So far living up to the hype?

Wendy: Yes, absolutely Sarah! And better food than I expected!

Sarah: That's great! Looks like you guys are having a fabulous time!

Kylend: Oh man....]

Within 5 minutes of sitting down, our food magically came to us.

I got:

Vegetable Quiche - mushroom, zucchini, bell pepper, onion, and chive quiche; served with baby lettuce coated with Champagne vinaigrette $8.19

Johnny got:

Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich - served warm on a baguette with horeradish sour cream and Pomme Frites $12.19

For dessert?

My choice:

Lemon Meringue Cupcake - Vanilla sponge cake, lemon custard filling, flamed meringue icing and crunch $3.19

And Johnny's:

Tropical Fruit Cream Puff - filled with Passion fruit mousse and topped with whipped cream $3.19

[Review:

The Food: My quiche was delicious. The pie crust was flaky and very tasty, not at all what I would expect from quick service. The egg was perfectly cooked and the veggies were delicious. The salad was good, but I'm not much of a fan of vinaigrette dressings and I did find it a little bit strong (though still much better than other vinaigrettes I've had!) Again, my appetite was way off and I couldn't eat very much, feeling like the flavour was too overpowering, but this was just me getting sick, no reflection on the food. Johnny loved his sandwich, he said everything about it was delicious and he ate every bite. Our desserts -- mine was perfection, I love lemon and it was nice and strong and the cupcake so fresh. Johnny liked his pretty well, but wasn't overly enthusiastic about the passion fruit mousse.

Overall: 4.5/5 stars from us! Despite all the negative feedback about the food that we'd heard, we loved it. Did we have low expectations? Yes. Did this factor in? I'd like to say no. Maybe we hit it on a good day? Who knows. All I can say is we had a fantastic meal there.]

When we finished, a CM came to clear away our table, ask how everything was (marvelous!) and to tell us that we were free to move around the restaurant and look around, take pictures, etc.

You got it!

I couldn't get over the detail. Even the drink dispensers!

I wanted to lay on my back in the middle of the floor to stare at that ceiling. I felt like I had stepped right into my favourite scene of my favourite movie. It was incredible just being in there!

The snow effect was so beautiful too.

Time to head to the other rooms!

West Wing:

I was hoping that we would get in here for dinner.

And the Library:

I hope you're not sick of these BOG photos yet, because there are 1000 more from dinner! :lmao:

Finally we headed out. It was easier to leave knowing we would be back!

I took this photo:

And Johnny took this of the same thing, but I like his so much better for the adorable little girl looking entirely enthralled with the incredible stained glass window:

On our way out, we turned to the waiting line and assured them, "It's worth it! Really, so worth it!" :thumbsup2

[Review:

Final thoughts: In my own experience, the whole restaurant is absolutely worth the wait, even if you don't have a FP+ for lunch. It's a beautiful, incredible setting, no matter which room you're seated in, the CMs were friendly and fast, the food delicious and fresh. (Not to mention some really wonderful, different food options! Try the quiche!) Go here every opportunity you get.]

Up next?

Continuing our tour of new castles.

Completely agree with your review of BoG for lunch. Everyone should try it out once, even if they don't have a FP for it. :thumbsup2

The lines outside are deceptively long. I think the way Disney has the system set up is genius. Have everyone order, find a seat, have the food brought to the guests, etc. It makes the whole process seem so smooth. At least in comparison to other Quick Service restaurants. Makes you wish all those places had CMs directing the entire process.

Cuirious to read how dinner compared to lunch.popcorn::

BOG looks fantastic!!! I'm glad you didn't wait as long as expected, or even were told. That's great that you enjoyed all the food (except for maybe the salad).

Dessert, please! I so want to try what both of you ordered.

That is a great picture Johnny took of the girl and the stained glass window!

AHHH see... ALWAYS lower your expectations and when a shorter wait presents itself (even at 45 minutes), it's feels like a WIN!! Awesome strategy. Plus the line seems to move really quick, so it's really even less.

How nice to hear all the people praising the place upon exit sans spoilers. "Oh I can't believe Darth Vader is Luke's FATHER!!!!"

You know, you may have had the same table I did. Certainly very close.

It really is spectacular, especially for a QS lunch. There's just no other place with that kind of ambience, and I'm happy it lived up to your expectations.

And OMG that adorable photo of little "Snow" admiring the Stained Glass. :cutie:

Okay, I was already excited to be 10 days out from my trip. Now, with the BOG pics ... I'm over the moon. Can. Not. WAIT!

I love the gargoyle pics!

I love the BOG updates...I would LOVE to eat there but I know my DH is so picky I don't see a thing on the menu he would like to eat. :( Might just have to do a little pouting...LOL

I can't wait to see your review for dinner. We really preferred dinner to lunch. I guess I may be a snob when it comes to French food ;)

The quiche looks delicious. What a lovely lunch option. I'm glad you wait was only 25 minutes. Score!

You got some beautiful pictures and that last picture of the gargoyle - he looks like he is staring right at me.

I'm so glad you had a great lunch experience there. :thumbsup2

It keeps things moving so you're never standing in one spot for very long. I like it, the future of fast food! lol

You won't have to wait long, that's up next!

BOG looks fantastic!!! I'm glad you didn't wait as long as expected, or even were told. That's great that you enjoyed all the food (except for maybe the salad).
We really loved it, and we were so happy the wait wasn't bad at all!

Dessert, please! I so want to try what both of you ordered.
Omg, if you're a lemon fan at all, try the lemon cupcake! Mmmm!

That is a great picture Johnny took of the girl and the stained glass window!
Isn't that adorable? It was an accidental shot, she kind of ran into it, but it works so well.

AHHH see... ALWAYS lower your expectations and when a shorter wait presents itself (even at 45 minutes), it's feels like a WIN!! Awesome strategy. Plus the line seems to move really quick, so it's really even less.
That is a great philosophy for much of Disney! Lower your expectations so you'll be pleasantly surprised! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

How nice to hear all the people praising the place upon exit sans spoilers. "Oh I can't believe Darth Vader is Luke's FATHER!!!!"
Bahahaha! Yes, they were validating our long wait rather than ruining the experience! :rotfl:

You know, you may have had the same table I did. Certainly very close.
We had the last table by the wall, my back was right by the doors to go out!

It really is spectacular, especially for a QS lunch. There's just no other place with that kind of ambience, and I'm happy it lived up to your expectations.
We were so happy with the whole thing, I'm so glad we got there for lunch. It really does go way above the rest for QS!

And OMG that adorable photo of little "Snow" admiring the Stained Glass. :cutie:
A-DORable isn't she?

Okay, I was already excited to be 10 days out from my trip. Now, with the BOG pics ... I'm over the moon. Can. Not. WAIT!

I love the gargoyle pics!
EEeeeee! You're so close! I hope your experience there is just as good as ours!

I love the BOG updates...I would LOVE to eat there but I know my DH is so picky I don't see a thing on the menu he would like to eat. :( Might just have to do a little pouting...LOL
My DH and I are both really picky too, and we were a little worried about the different options, but we both found something we loved! I hope you can get your DH there and he finds something good too. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see your review for dinner. We really preferred dinner to lunch. I guess I may be a snob when it comes to French food ;)
LOL We loved lunch, but we probably liked dinner a little better too. That's coming up next ;)

The quiche looks delicious. What a lovely lunch option. I'm glad you wait was only 25 minutes. Score!
Oh it was really nice, so much better than chicken nuggets and fries!~ :rotfl:

You got some beautiful pictures and that last picture of the gargoyle - he looks like he is staring right at me.
He's quite a work of art. Those eyes are really so well done!

I'm so glad you had a great lunch experience there. :thumbsup2
I was glad too, especially when I knew so many people weren't crazy about the food!
