How many years did ot take you to reach platinum?

We did our first 2 cruises on 2002 and 2003.
Once we did both Eastern and Western cruises, we didn't do another until 2012.

In 2012 we took our kids and grandkids on The Magic again for our 25th Anniversary.
Then we got hooked on DCL again with all the great itineraries.
We have done 6 since 2012. We became gold in January 2013.
We are doing our first Fantasy cruise in 2 weeks (#9) with our kids and grandkids again.

So we are 2 away from Platinum.
I am trying to get to platinum this year, with a couple good Florida resident rates, I just might swing it.

If we take all the cruises we have booked it will be less than 3 years. Took first cruise in May 2012 and tenth will be in Feb 2015.

We started cruising with Disney in December of 2001. We will make Platinum in May of this year. Between 2004 and 2007 we didn't cruise at all with Disney and gave RCCL all of our cruise business. In 2008 we switched back to Disney, (coincided with buying a lot more DVC points), so at our current rate of cruising 2-3 times a year we could have made it a lot sooner if we had stayed with Disney the whole time.

I'm projecting it will be about 15 years for us. This year will be ten since our first, and we will be going on our seventh.

It will be about 4.5 years for us. If I stop to think how much that has cost I will get ill :)

Hard to say....we have been cruising DCL since their MV back in 1998 and they didn't have different levels at the beginning. I think we had over 10 cruises under our belt by the time they initiated the different levels so we were already considered Platinum when the levels started.

Does anybody remember when they started the different levels of the CC club? I saw one website that mentioned 2009 but I thought it was before that...maybe not.

Edited to add I just found this thread that looks like it was 2009!!! Thanks Lisa, I should have known you would have had that info!!!

Just figured out we had 17 cruises by the time they initiated the different levels in 2009. Had 10 cruises in 2004.

It probably took us about 7 years. We usually only cruise once a year so it took us awhile - and there have been 'dry' years as well.

We started with DCL in 11/2003 and hit #10 3/2013. Too bad we won't be cruising platinum to enjoy the benefits.

Can I ask why not? Did you find another line? Don't mean to be nosey....who am I kidding???? I am definitely being nosey!!!

13 years and 96 days at sea - finally got there last summer (well I did - my husband has to wait another 5 weeks to get his)!

I sailed the Wonder back in '99 but I never bothered including that in my CC level since it was in my maiden name. My next DCL cruise was Feb of 2011. I officially hit Platinum after my June 2013 cruise. So I guess around 2 1/2 years.

DCL has simply out priced it's value to us. The nearly 60% increase for the Fantasy's pre-Easter 2015 week cruise compared to our 2013 cruise crossed the line since we have two kids entering college in the next four years and that takes priority.

We took our first DCL cruise 11/14/09. Completed number ten 5/13 and got platinum lanyards on our cruise starting 11/15/13.

So 3.5 or 4 years depending on how you're measuring. :)

I don't think we'll be reaching platinum with the price hikes & limitations now, but we'll hit gold fairly quickly. First cruise was 2/2011 and we will hit gold with our cruise in October so just in 3 years, 7 months and 7 days. ;)
