Dwarf mine ride and magic bands

I am sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any information any search. I will be at Disney World for one day and night following my Fantasy cruise in April. :cool1:

I am hoping the dwarf mine ride will be open and wondering if we will be able to set up a fast-pass time with magic bands.

Any insights on this?

No opening date for 7DMT other than "Spring 2014" is announced, so impossible to answer. It is also unknown when prebooked FP+ will be an option for 7DMT.

Only when Disney decides you can. Nobody knows when yet, as there isn't even a specific opening date.

It's hard to say when it will be opening. We were just at MK on Saturday and yesterday and it looks like they still have quite a ways to go on it.

~Wow! :( I hope it's not too much for me to expect a coaster version of Splash Mountain -- that would make it worth the wait. :cool1:

Word on the street is they are having problems with the cars swinging when they come into the unloading station.

I do know when RSR opened in Carsland at CA, FP was added to the attraction. My guess, after soft openings yield positive results, FP+ will become available for pre-booking. We won't know until someone on this board notices it as an option for booking. Just MHO.

I wonder what opens first mine ride or Harry potter 2. Lol
~Good question!!!

~The swinging debacle is very interesting. I was discussing this with another poster a while back. I always thought the swinging mechanism on the cars would be similar to that of a motorized baby swing and could stop and lock into place automatically.

~If Disney does't have anything on the cars to control the swinging, they will have to reconfigure all of the cars. OMG, I hope this is not the Yeti all over again.

Judging from the footprint of the ride, I think you may be expecting too much from it.
~Awww. :( But, the area looks huge! Okay, maybe not Splash Mountain, but more like ToT! It's part dark ride and part coaster, so it can't be that short. I've always been excited about the Diamond Mine aspect full of all those fabulous, sparkly gems! I can't wait to see it! :cool1:

How exciting! I'm hoping for early spring.

Lol, anyone who's ever ridden a 'Matterhorn'-style carnival ride will know the sensation of attempting to exit a swinging ride vehicle...

I guess Disney wants their ride to be less of a life-threatening experience. :rotfl2:

Or, really speed it UP!

One swing... YOU'RE OUT!

;)

:rotfl: And people were concerned there wouldn't be enough thrill factor on this one. Sounds like Robo just took care of it!

you'll probably be happier if you expect more of a swinging car version of goofy's barn stormer or primeval whirl.

Always better to be happily surprised than let down.

You might be on to something there. Maybe they can just refit all rides with automatic ejectors like in fighter jets. At the very least, boring rides wouldn't be quite so boring!
