Hi everyone!

Welcome to my TR! Here is a little about myself for those who haven’t read any of my PTR/TRs before!

My name is Chrissy and I am 24 years old. I have been married to the love of my life, Devan, for a year and a half now, and together for almost 7 years! We’ve known each other since we were 12 where we met in 7th grade orchestra. Here is a brief picture history!

He was the class clown and I was the teacher’s pet. Never in my wildest dreams did I envision us getting together, but we grew from classmates, to friends, to best friends, to what we are now, husband and wife! I am a Disney Veteran and I’m slowly molding my DH into one himself. He has now been to Disney four times! He has taught me a new way of enjoying Disney and it was extremely apparent in this trip.

An Interesting DISNEY Fact about the both of us:

Me: When I was two years old, my family was on one of the Disney buses coming back from the theme parks at like… 2 A.M. I decided it would be the perfect time to belt out a rendition of “Doe a Dear” from Sound of Music. Well, I ended up getting the entire bus singing with me and it’s been an amazing story that gets told by my family all the time.

Devan: Devan and I were on TSM on our honeymoon last year and it was during the game where they shoot the balls at you. Well, when the first one shot at him he freaked out and hit his head really hard on the back of the car we were in, lol. He still ended up winning, but it was funny at the time. One more I’ll tell you about him. When we were still dating, he was going to propose to me at the airport on our way to Disney World back in 2010. Well, he ended up chickening out because he was too afraid to ask my dad! He ended up proposing 12 days after we got back after multiple attempts to do it, while again feeling he was being too obvious. What a sweetie he is.

Devan and I don’t have kids yet, but we’re hoping that changes within the next year! We can’t wait to take our little one(s) to Disney. You should have seen us walking around (trying not to look creepy, lol) and just smiling at all the adorable children there in their cute outfits mesmerized by Mickey and the Gang or the princesses. He is going to be such a great dad, which is why I can’t wait to have a family with him. Oh gosh, off topic! We do have four fur-babies, all of which are rescues. I’m a huge rescue advocate and I’d probably have a hundred pets if my hubby would allow it. We have two dogs, Laila and Ellie, and two cats, Jake and Annabelle.

Laila and Ellie are only a little under four months a part.

They're not even aware they're such a funny pair! They're the best of friends!

We adopted them both from our local animal shelter where they were brought when they were puppies. They were actually dumped on the side of the road and they are just the best girls. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of pictures of them in any life updates I do. They’re my babies and it’s always so hard to be away from them. I’ll have to let you in on some of the troubles we had with their house sitter while we were on this Disney vacation. I was not a happy mama.

Jake and Annabelle came to us in different ways.

Jake (the gray one) was a feral (wild) kitten that we rescued from the wild at 4 weeks old. He’s a Siamese/Maine Coon Mix from what info we’ve gathered and he is a complete Mama’s Boy. Annabelle (the tuxedo kitty), we adopted from a local shelter here as well. She is a trouble maker but is always up for love and attention (unless the dogs around).

I’ve been going to Disney since I was a little girl. My first roller coaster was Thunder Mountain at the age of 3 and I used to be obsessed with riding the carousel. My poor father… Lol. Disney has always been a place I can go and just forget about the outside world. I’m allowed to be a kid again. Amazing memories are always waiting for me there and I always have a bazillion pictures to capture them. So, if you like trip reports with a TON of pictures, you’ve come to the right place!

Also, I will make the pictures a tad smaller when I do my other updates! :)

Anyway, let’s get this trip report underway, shall we? Welcome to Movie Stars, Magic, and Memories! A December 2013 Trip Report!

Hi Chrissy joining in. What's one more December TR to read. I do love Christmas in Disney. :goodvibes

We are! We were very lucky and fortunate to have had such an amazing foundation to build upon. We were such great friends when we made the leap into what we are now. :) Haha, I'm reading quite a few myself! I can't help it though... I love Christmas at Disney!

Joining in!

Thanks for joining in! So happy to have you! :wave2:

Day 1:

Devan and I woke up very early Monday, December 2nd. The normal cranky and grouchy “morning people” we are were nowhere in sight. What could be the reason for that? Of course! We were leaving for Disney World!!! We said the almost-tearful goodbyes (yes we’re those people) to our fur-babies who were being left in the hands of one of our good friends and also our MIL. They knew we were leaving them for a week even though we tried to keep it a secret. That’s quite difficult with me running around the house jumping, dancing, and squealing, “WE LEAVE TOMORROW!!! WAHOO!!” Before we left, we took the traditional “We’re leaving for Disney” picture.

We left the house about 3 A.M. to make it to Kansas City International Airport for our 5:55 A.M. flight! We love to make the most out of our first day at Disney so we always arrive early!

Before we knew it we had visions of palm trees dancing in our heads! We made it to Orlando! We took our carry-ons and hurried to the Magical Express! We were doing a split-stay this trip. Our first day we were staying at All-Star Movies. When planning our trip, it was cheaper for us to add a day at Disney and come back a different day than to purchase airfare for our original departure day. A Disney Addicts dream, right? So, our first day we took the ME to All-Star Movies!

Our first view of the most magical place on earth! I have to give credit to DH on this one. He was the only one who could get the shot.

I will add that that ME had a new video from the last time we were at Disney for our honeymoon in July of 2012. I really enjoyed it! In fact, we even saw some of the things from the video in the parks during our visit! More on that later though. :)

We utilized online check-in and were placed in the area I wished for! Mighty Ducks! I am a huge Mighty Ducks fan. Those movies were a part of my childhood and I was excited to be staying in that section! The décor was cute and I was excited to be seeing Disney Christmas décor. It’s one of my favorite reasons for coming to Disney in December.

We explored the resort some on our way to our room. I love Disney movies so this hotel was the perfect recipe for nostalgia.

We dropped off our carry-ons and refreshed ourselves then headed to Downtown Disney!

Stay tuned for the rest of Day 1! DTD and EMH at MK!

Thank you! Thanks for joining in!

Aw, you're so sweet! I'm a very lucky girl to have such a great little family!

OMG I had the exact same experience. Cheaper to stay and extra day?? Yup, I'll take that!

Arriving early is the best. To have that whole day (or most of it) is just heavenly. It's amazing how we can operate on so little sleep on Disney day.

YAY!! Another TR from you.. :) I loved your last one.

Sweet pics of you guys when you were first dating!

It is SO fun to bring kids to the world.. My DH and I got engaged at Disney, went back 2 years later, was pregnant with our now almost 6 year old, took him when he was 2, in which I was pregnant with our now 2 year old son and we have been twice since then :) We are hoping for our third and final sometime this year too.. I know what you mean about trying not to stare creepily at the kids.. LOL. I feel like I do that when I see all the cute little girls all dressed up in their princess outfits.. Can you tell I want a girl?? Sigh.... :yay:

Looks like the beginning of a great trip report. Looking forward to reading more about your trip. :)

It is amazing how little sleep you can operate on while at Disney. It must be the Disney magic. :)

Thanks, Amanda! Great to have you! I'm looking to get an update in tomorrow. I believe DH just fell ill with the flu. Currently has a fever of 101, so... I should have lots of time on my hands.
