Hi, wondering if any recent cruisers have experienced the mosquito issue on St. Maarten. The US Public Health department declared a travel advisory for a mosquito borne virus that is similar to Dengue. We have a port excursion booked to Loterie Farm to do a Rainforest trek. I have tried to do a bit of research into the Farm and potential issues. I am tempted to cancel the excursion but thought a recent Eastern itinerary traveler might have some better insight. Any help would be great...

Thanks!

We went to loterie farm on dec 17th. I had been told to bring repellent wipes, which I dutifully left in our stateroom! We did notice a couple of mosquito bites, but no illness or anything.

Remember the repellent and you should be fine. We loved Loterie, BTW. Did the intermediate course and headed to the beach afterwards... Was a super fun day!

This is the best Fantasy TR I've read! Thank you for sharing...hope you're able to post more. :)

We just booked 7192 for next November, and that's how I came across your thread, via search for others' opinions on "our" stateroom lol. I'm enjoying your trip report and can't wait to read the rest! :thumbsup2

Hi! I hope you enjoy 7192 as much as we did! We liked it so much I think we will have a hard time even trying any other area of the ship on future cruises!

Wow, thank you! Considering how many amazing ones there are on here that is quite the compliment. I'm so glad that you are enjoying it! Somehow my plans to update last weekend just went out the window, I'm going to finish up St. Maarten tonight and hopefully can get some more done this coming weekend. :thumbsup2

I finally made it back to your TR and found a lot has happened here while I was gone. Now that I'm caught up after the hoildays I promise to do a better job of keeping up. I am really enjoying your report.

Next time we're in St Maarten I really want to get to Maho beach. We may do exactly what you did using a taxi. I do plan to show D H your pictures from Maho. He has seen pics of people who stand really close to the runway and I don't think he believes me when I tell him he won't have to be so close! :earseek:

Our first cruise ever was on the Dream - in 7192! Different ship, same cabin. We really love aft cabins. We have done 3 more cruises since then, all in aft cabins! Our next cruise, back on the Dream this time in yet another aft! We do feel the vibrations back there, but I kinda like the feeling. I'm not a morning person like you so the vibrations serve as an alarm clock for me when we pull into port. It is a long walk to get to almost anywhere . That helps burn off calories!

Loved all the Cabanas pictures! Wish I was back there right now…..

What a shame that you couldn’t find each other for the fireworks! But I’m glad you got to see them - we missed them. *sigh*

The buffet on Pirates Night sounds great! I wish my child could have stayed awake long enough to do it! :rotfl2:

Awesome towel animals - I don’t think I’ve seen a couple of those before!

Just found your report, I am loving it! DH and I will be taking this cruise in March for our 30th anniversary. Your Remy report has me considering it, it looks fantastic!

I just read your whole report. I searched for eastern Caribbean and found yours. I love it! I recently went on my first cruise on the Dream in room 7690 which is the same as your room just flip-flopped. I booked the same room on the Fantasy. Can't wait to read more!

Thanks so much for these posts, I am enjoying this so much! You are so pretty in your pictures and look like you are having so much fun.
When you had dinner at Remy's which dining rotation did you skip?
We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary (with the kids) on the Fantasy next August, and plan to book Palo or Remy for a special dinner.

perfectmatch300 ~ Maho was really enjoyable to us, I hope you guys love it if you go!

RMAMom ~ I think everyone should do Remy! I still think about it 3 months later!

jesemeca ~ Welcome! :cool1:

carolbeech ~ Either of the restaurants would make a lovely anniversary meal. We did both and enjoyed both, but if we had to pick just one to do again, hands down it would be Remy. Our dining rotation was AERAERA so we skipped night 3 in Royal Court for Remy and then night 5 in Enchanted Garden for Palo. I don't know if those were good nights to skip or not we just knew we wanted to be in the main dining room for formal night, pirate night and our last night, so this is how it worked out.

I'm jumping on board. We are on the Fantasy in March...and can't wait. We did a 5 day Dream so we sort of know what to expect...but love the differences. your pictures are terrific! :thumbsup2

I found your report! :-) And I saw myself in your mixology pictures :-) haha! Loving your report, too! You captured a lot of photos I never even thought of taking!

Someone else commented and said they knew you too, did you see that? I can't remember the user name.

I scrolled through so I could find it. Haha! How bizarre! I wrote in my report how I felt like a celebrity because I was active in our Facebook group lol Now I have people not even on our cruise "know me" lol :-) I think she got married at disney world and is a "disbride" on Facebook... correct me if I'm wrong :-)
