I think I'm jealous!:goodvibes

When we got back to our room our luggage was waiting for us giving me just enough time to organize before the drill and toss a few things into a laundry bag to be pressed for later on.

The last time our drill was in the Buena Vista Theater to which someone mentioned a scene from Titanic. It was so disorganized. This time...Tada!!! Evolution Lounge??? Well at least it was done well. Very professional and orderly.

Our next meet was at the sail away party. A bunch of us gathered by the second stack facing Fish lips and waited to wave like a bunch of crazy people at the camera. It was so much fun! The cool thing was that one of our cruise mates had a special sign made to hang over the side. It was great but kept wanting to flap up in the breeze and Brian and company did their best to hold it in place.

We said so long to our cruise mates and headed down to our stateroom to finish unpacking and to get ready for dinner.

Chocolate pralines...yummy

A few of us hung around and chatted for a while but then Dan and I turned our attention to the sunset and headed back to our stateroom to take it in and just relax before getting ready for dinner at the Enchanted Garden.
Ahhhhh...the setting sun!

Once we were in open water the ship was at full tilt. Since we were forward you could feel every little break of the waves as we cruised on through. And so did I. Last time I got a bad dose of sea sickness and this time would be no different.

I noticed it when I was just sitting on the bed. Then I went to wash my face and re-apply my make-up when I felt it. I've come to realize that if you are feeling a little nauseous the worst place to be is standing in a tiny bathroom looking into the mirror as the background sways to and fro. Now, I did take Dramamine an hour or more before we left port. It was the non-drowsy kind and guess what? It didn't work.

Dan and I got dressed and arrived at Enchanted Garden just as the doors swung open. We were led to our table and in a few minutes we were greeted by our table-mates Kris and Larry. This was the first time we met and I didn't even know what they looked like because Kris did not post her picture on Facebook. Despite how I was feeling we had a lovely conversation and just for kicks and giggles I ordered the very same food as I did the last time which I couldn't take a bite of just a quick snap on the shutter of my camera and then I turn away. I found myself briefly explaining to Kris and Larry what was going on and tried to eat a piece of a roll but to no avail.

In the meantime Dan was enjoying his roll and appetizer while I just sat there and stared at my soup. Next came his salad and finally the Sea Bass. I really love Sea Bass especially the way its prepared at the Enchanted Garden but I couldn't even stand the smell of this beautifully cooked fish. It was déjà vu all over again and I quickly had to excuse myself. Geez, I got further than this last time. Dan just took a bite of his entrée and was enjoying it. I told him to stay, just give me my KTTW card and Id be fine but he wouldn't hear of it and left his entrée behind to stay with me. All that ran through my mind was what a lousy first impression I just made in front of our table-mates. The rest of this night was a blur. I took another Dramamine, crawled onto the sofa bed and crashed though I barely remember getting into bed, make-up and all.

Ok...evidently I was well enough to take a photo of this little guy!?

Next...party with the Pink Champagne Girls!

I loved all your pictures of POR. It looks like a lovely resort.

Loved the first day on the Fantasy. We did the same as you - boarded and headed straight to Cabanas. The food was delicious! We also had a category 8 room and we LOVED the window. My boys enjoyed standing and sitting there and looking out. Sorry you weren't feeling so good the first night - we could feel lots of motion, too. We were fortunate enough to stand with Kris and Larry at sail away - what a sweet couple.

Can't wait to read more.

One other thing...

I see you have another cruise booked. Are you by any chance sailing on the November 29th Fantasy (same week as last year)? We have a cruise on the Wonder booked for March, 2015 but we are heavily considering moving it to the November 29th Fantasy sailing. Just wondered if we'd be on the same cruise again.

Sorry you felt soo crummy. Hope noext cruise you can find something that works better for you.

We really did love our state room with the large porthole window. I never even knew who Kris and Larry were until we met that first night at dinner...and then I was sick.

Shhhhh...spoiler alert. Lol! No sorry, we are booked on the December 14th WC on the Magic. I've always wanted to say that I've sailed on all four Disney ships though it would have been cool to sail together. :cool1:

I think I just might call and make sure our first MDR is not AP. :goodvibes

December 1st…Sea Day and Senses Spa

After a rocky night I just slept in. Surprisingly Dan did also but I knew he must have been hungry. We awoke to beautiful blue skies glinting against a bluer sea as I gingerly moved about trying to decide if I was ok or not. There wasn’t much to do to get ready this morning because in an hour or so at 9 am Dan and I had an appointment at Senses Spa for a couples massage. I just washed my face, put on my lotions and potions, tied my hair back and that was it. I was ready.

I’ve always wanted to do this and was so surprised when I approached Dan with the idea of a couples massage in celebration of 24 years together. I thought it would be nice. An expression of my love for my husband. I was also prepared for him to balk and scoff at the idea and that would be it. Imagine my surprise when I heard, “I was hoping you would say you wanted to do that.” Huh??? My Daniel? Who are you and what did you do with my husband? He was all for it. :goodvibes

This was absolutely heavenly. The oils, the scrubs, the lighting and soft music. I think I told her that I had died and gone to heave when she asked how I felt. But all I heard from Dan’s masseuse was relax…relax. He was so tense during the whole process. Poor baby! I especially loved the way our massage ended by placing my hand into Dan’s and how he didn’t know what was going on until I gave him a reassuring little squeeze. I can’t wait to do this again and believe it or not Dan can’t either.:lovestruc

But and this is a big but…being caught up in the moment I guess you would say we were somehow talked into buying the expensive body oils and scrubs that were offered of course. These three products racked up over $172 on our cruise account and sadly they are still just sitting around waiting to be used.:(
Senses Spa products

After several minutes detoxifying in steam, I was in the shower and ready to go. Dan was waiting for me and we headed back to our stateroom so I could get ready for my first ever Pink Champagne Girls meet and dressed in my pink Tink top, tiara and boa I was ready. For what I wasn’t sure. It was described to me as a meeting for us gals to wear pink, have a drink and get to know each and “get our pink on”. The next few minutes were priceless as Dan followed literally a few steps behind me. All the way to La Piazza I heard him say, “Don’t ask,” as we walked by getting the oddest looks from other cruisers who just so happened to be men. Figures right. Men looked confused and woman smiled. I arrived at La Piazza and met up with a few ladies including Kelly who organized the meet from the beginning on Face Book. To our dismay it would have seemed that they overbooked LP and had to move us. Kelly was frustrated and who could blame her. This was something like the third move, starting at Ooh La La, (first choice…not available) then La Piazza and now where?
Beautiful Skies

They moved us to the Outlook and had someone hold the elevator just for our group which was nice. The Outlook was small yet secluded on deck 14 and even though our drinks were limited and they did not have my beloved Asti it was still fun meeting all the girls. We had a contest for our decorated champagne glass, which was judged by our two bartenders and ended our meet by taking a group shot.
All the glasses waiting for judgment (mine is number 4)

And the winner is…duct tape creation

Fantasy Fanciful Pink Champagne Girls

We took the elevator down in groups and had to laugh when the door opened on the 11th deck at Cabanas’. One lone teen was standing there and the look on his face to see us all with our tiaras and boas was more than he could stand. He just shook his head a slowly backed away. Just too funny.

I went back to the state room to meet Dan but he was nowhere to be found. I wasn’t sure if I should leave to find him or stay and wait. Here I found two cards, one for Dan’s Birthday and one for our Anniversary. I decided to stay taking a few more pictures of our room including a try self-portrait and a panorama.

Look what I found??? Palo Brunch invitation!

A few minutes later Dan came into the room. It would seem that he was waiting for me outside of La Piazza all the time. What he didn't know was that we were moved and as I thought before the meet, he was hungry so I quickly changed so we could search for food.

Turns out we missed Cabana’s buffet as well as the other restaurants. I didn't really feel like Flo’s so we went back to our room and ordered room service. They delivered within 15 minutes and we enjoyed our meal while watching “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.”

More to come....

December 1st continued...

By the time the movie was over we got to watch the sun set and relax a bit before our dinner at Royal Court. Tonight was formal night so I started early to get ready so we could go have our picture taken at the Grand Staircase. We made our way to the Atrium and got in line as a server with free drinks served us with a smile. I don’t recall what the drink was but it was good and made the wait go faster. As we stood there our Cruise Director Ray made his way through the line but an extremely chatty couple in front of us keep him busy for a while as a couple of my questions were answered.

1. It would seem that the distance covered from Port Canaveral to St Maarten is quite a long way. (I knew that) 2. Because of this distance the ship is basically at full tilt and it can be rough. (Boy, don’t I know that) 3. We were trying to avoid 12 foot swells. (I can believe that)

Also just so you know the closer you are to the front of the ship the more you will feel the motion of the ocean. Been there…done that! No more. Also something I learned: Dramamine aka Meclizine a less drowsy formula for sea sickness does not work (for me anyway) Dramamine regular strength…worked like a charm. I wasn’t drowsy even though I had a few drinks during the course of the day.

Once our picture was taken we waited for the doors to open for dinner. And just so you all know. Yes…I was able to wear my heels. Third cruise since my injury and I did just fine. I was smart and took one pair which happened to have a wraparound ankle strap so if I did swell (and I did not) I could adjust. Happy dance!

We met Kris and Larry at our table and finally I could enjoy a great meal and some great conversation.

Of course our servers knew that we were celebrating Dan’s birthday and our anniversary. They approached our table with several others and presented us with a cake and pins as they sang a happy rendition of Happy Anniversary…kiss. Which we happily complied…many times.

I'm going to join in as it sounds so far like your cruise was what I had hoped for on my recent Dream voyage. Mine was wonderful, but I didn't have as much romance as I had wanted.

What a beautiful picture of you and your hubby! Hope you enjoyed your anniversary!

I'm enjoying reading along, we are heading out on the Fantasy in one month.
This is our first Fantasy cruise, we have done 8 on the classic ships.

The lobster mac and cheese looks so much better than on the Magic and Wonder.
Must try that!

Loved the pink girl pics, too cute!!!!

Wonderful updates again
I agree with the PP, that is such a lovely photo of you both
The champagne meet sounded like a lot of fun :)
I was interested to hear your thoughts on sea sick medication. I get terribly sick on small boats but have always been fine on the big ships, but we have always had pretty calm seas. I took Dramamine non-drowsy on our last cruise just as a precaution but as the seas were so calm I probably didn't need it

Following along! Enjoying your trip report so far! We sail the Fantasy in May... It will be our first Disney cruise. We are seriously considering a couples massage - appreciated your review!

Great update! Your massage sounds heavenly! I didn't get a massage this trip but did try the Rainforest Room, which I loved.

I love the picture of your Pink Champagne Girls meet-up. Now I'm kind of sad I didn't do it. :sad1: I wasn't even aware that there was anything on deck 14 including the Outlook Bar (I think that is what you called it). I'll have to check it out next time. It looks lovely and I'm sure the view was awesome.

Love the photo of you and DH at Royal Court!
