YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

I can't wait to read the rest of your TR! And to see the suite!

Hi Cassie! I'm glad that you are joining and anticipating that post. As soon as I get some responses completed I will do a short update. :)

Thank you for joining!

Yeah. So excited that it is almost time for the big reveal. :)

I just love that update about you and Em on the beach watching "Enchanted". Just the way you said it just wasn't about watching a movie outside on the beach but about all the little girls dressed as princesses and your own little princess sitting on the beach next to you. Such a perfect moment.

Looking forward to the next update.

Yes, I'm almost there. Goodness, I'm juggling three reviews right now so it is a challenge keeping everything straight. :)

Thanks! That was a great evening on the beach. In fact, one that seems to be more endearing as time passes.

Happy New Year Brenda!

The suspense! So close to seeing THE Suite!

That Mayor is something. :lmao: So a straw hat and a sash declaring oneself as Mayor gives that person license to be a bit "frisky", eh? :rotfl:

Hi Dave! Happy New Year to you as well! I didn't do anything as exciting as traveling to NYC for the holiday but I did stay up until midnight eating cupcakes and drinking sparkling cider. :) I hope you are staying warm. I'm sure the warmer Florida weather will be welcome in a few weeks.

Yes... the suspense... hang in there a little longer.... heck, I've made everyone wait over 3 months at this point. I'm surprised anyone is still interested.

Yeah, I think that license is firmly sew into that sash. At least one would think. When my DH saw the photo he said, 'I applaud him for going for the reach in.' Such a guy.

Enjoy your weekend!

WHAT?! Nothing more about the suite?!?!

I think the Deluxe resort buses are the worst! I feel like they share too many! I like Pop and AoA have dedicated buses! I'll see what I think about POR in 64 days! WHOOT! :cheer2:

That was the perfect breaking spot for my story! Truly. I need to drive everyone a little more crazy you think? :upsidedow

That is what I have heard - those deluxe busses are a big fat negative!

Glad that your friend is accompanying you on your trip. In 62 DAYS!

Hi Brenda Happy New Year! :)

Whenever i'm catching up on TR's, I usually write down my comments on a virtual note pad on my Macbook while i'm reading so I can remember what I want to write. Well, I hate technology right now. I had 2 note pads filled with comments for your TR and they erased:headache: So i'm going to try and remember what I had!
Oh no!!!! I hate when that happens. (Coincidently, it took me three tries to update my dining review on the live thread earlier today since I have no idea what I pushed but, poof, my update was gone not just once but twice. Errrr. :crazy2:)

Anyway, I'm glad you tried again! :goodvibes

I cannot believe the experience you had at the Brown Derby on your past trip! Absolutely insane:crazy2: I can't remember, but have you ever made it back since that incident?

Yeah, that was a crazy dinner. I'm willing to go back and try it again but Em not so much so to answer your question, no, we've not been back. I may go with my DH next trip since it wasn't entirely loathsome.

I've never made it to the Writer's Stop before but after seeing that glorious Carrot Cake Cookie, it's an absolute must next time!

I can totally picture you with that carrot cake cookie! It is a soft, moist cake outside with a thick cream cheese filling inside .. oh so perfect!

Oh my goodness at the Chefs story! You have quite the dining experiences don't you? We definitely need to share a meal sometime so I can see what happens to us :rotfl::rotfl2:

You my dear, influenced my dining choices with Artist Point in particular. I loved your dining reviews from 2010. (Oh and Jiko with the filet! I love that you are a carnivore.)

I'd be honored to share a meal with you anytime. Next time you are down at DL or if our dates at WDW ever align. :)

I LOVE the character spot! I'm actually going to be coming up on that update shortly (if I can ever make it that is :rotfl:)

I love to read about others' interactions with characters - especially when they are awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing if Calvin enjoyed the characters.

Ooh I got the Laila lotion for Christmas! Smells soooo marvelous :cloud9:

Ohhh lovely! Smelling like the essence of Norway is always good.

Your view from La Hacienda is phenomenal. Can't beat that!

We were quite lucky. It was a first to see Illuminations from inside anywhere.

I love how you ended the night on the beach relaxing with Em. That sounds too perfect:goodvibes[/QUOTE]

Hi Lesha and Happy New Year to you!

The movie on the beach was a perfect end to the evening. :)

The new MK entrance does take some getting used to.

The buses can be pretty bad during opening/closing times. The advantage of them is that they drop you off right at the MK entrance, but man do you have to pay the price. :rotfl2:

I was just looking at some photos from 2011 when the sign was pink/blue and I missed it all over again! ;)

Maybe that was my problem.. I was hoping on a MK bus at park open. I'm sure that was the plan for more than a few people at the Epcot resorts. :p

You are making me look at the bright side - we are dropped off at the MK entrance.

Such a nice morning! The bus situation is annoying. I stayed at BW and once it picked up at YC/BC and Swan/Dolphin. I felt S/D should have had their own buses especially to/from the MK.Sorry you just missed the opening show. I have never made it there. Maybe my next trip....maybe. Getting very excited for the next update with your big surprise!

Hi there! Thanks, it was a nice morning.... looking back it seems more magical now given the turn of events. We had no clue at that time...:)

See? You feel the same as me. Let the S/D folks have their own bus! :rolleyes2 No worries, if we saw the park open show that would have been awesome but I'd seen it before so it wasn't a must do. Put it on your list for one day...

Thank you... I'm trying to get to the next update soon.

Love your description of movie night! It sounds perfect.
The Mayor, lol! :rotfl:

Can't wait for more :thumbsup2

Thank you TinyDancer! It was a practically perfect end to the night!

:love2: Yep, that's the Mayor.

I am new to the Dis and I just have to say I LOVE your TRs. I read two so far and they are great. So jealous your got to tour Cinderella's dream suite and I can't wait for your next post.

Hi and welcome ashw! And welcome to the Disboards! :goodvibes I'm so very glad that you found my TRs and are following along. We've been blessed with a few special surprises.

Stay tuned for the actual Dream Suite update soon.

Thanks again for joining in!

Hi! Joining in. I found your TR and DR yesterday and am all caught up. I got a lot done around the house this weekend obviously!

I am enjoying both immensely. In fact I am using it as my inspiration to convince my husband that staying CL at Yacht Club is a GREAT IDEA! I hope that my daughter and I can make wonderful mother/daughter trips like you and your daughter in the future!

Can't wait for the rest!

Brenda we know you have this trip report going and a dinning report .. We are wondering if you have plans for a trip report for your December visit..

Hi there PrncessA! I'm so glad that you found these and read through them, that's awesome! Ha ha! You sound like me, reading others' TRs gives inspiration and ideas for your own trip planning... it's almost a must do!

I usually justify CL because of the room discounts that I take advantage of so if that is something you can use to your benefit - I encourage that! :)

Awww mother/daughter trips are going to be something that I will remember fondly the rest of my life. You will not regret making those memories if you do mother/daughter trips as well.

I see you have a PTR so I'll pop over there and take a look see! :goodvibes

BTW: I hope you are staying warm in the Chicago burbs! My DH is from Batavia/Aurora so we've been checking the temps there!

Brenda we know you have this trip report going and a dinning report .. We are wondering if you have plans for a trip report for your December visit..

Thank you for asking and the answer is YES. I just need to get this one farther along so I can begin a 4th TR/DR! Crazy huh? I just want to get this one beyond the Dream Suite part.

I met so many Disers and had some great firsts since this was our first time to visit WDW during the Christmas season. And yes, there was a sweet upgrade but not until we changed resorts later in the trip. ;)

I'll let everyone know here and on my DR when I start the December one. In the mean time you are in luck because I posted my first "dining review" for our Dis cocktail meet up on the live dining threadhere. Since I'm participating in the finale of Jabead (Barb's) report you'll see at least the dining portion of our trip on that thread.

Thanks again for asking! :goodvibes

Friday August 23, 2013: Day 8 Part 2

Sooo... we had just received a squeeze from the Mayor and we were heading near Plaza Restaurant to meet up with our friend Dean. When we turned the corner to head towards Tomorrowland Terrace we saw Dean and immediately went in for the hugs! We were introduced to his lovely wife Linda. His book was the second thing that I wanted to see (after him of course) so I was able to get a sneak peek, literally! We took several dozen photos but here's a few.

DSCN6893.jpg

DSCN6895.jpg

The book has a foreword by Lee Cockerell who is the Executive VP at Disney. If you are going to have anyone endorse your Disney related book, Lee would be very high up on the list.
DSCN6891.jpg

I've plugged this before but here's a link if anyone is interested in purchasing a copy. I can't recommend this enough. I did have to make use of the box of tissues just so you know....

Edited to note: I've been asked before and to clarify... No, our 2010 Grand Marshal parade experience is not included in this book. In fact, even though Em and I kept showing up on Main Street to say hi to Dean year after year until he retired, he remembered us and that we were his Grand Marshals from Southern California but he did not recall that particular day in August 2010 and selecting us. With over 10,000 Grand Marshals chosen over his 14 years as the GM Coordinator, we blended in with many other faces and families. As I've told Dean, you may not remember selecting us but we remember every moment of that day.

I'm pre-ordering my books:

The Mayor came over to chat and pose with us for photos with our favorite photopass photographer, Alex. He will make an appearance in more installments of this TR so be on the look-out.

DSCN6900.jpg

Alex - the BEST photopass photographer/entertainer/comedian on Main Street! He borrowed my camera for a selfie!

We chatted for a while with our pal the Mayor before moving on down Main Street. Since we had cleared our calendar so to speak we had no plans so we enjoyed hanging out with this mini celebrity while he reunited with many of the Cast Members on Main Street including Hildegard, some of the Dapper Dans, and Barb, the driver of our vehicle when we were in the parade in 2010.

Dean headed over to the Entertainment offices so we parted ways arranging to meet up for lunch at 11am. He told me to check my phone for a text from him within the next hour&. Ok.. no explanation for that.

Dapper Dans gave Dean a shout out
DSCN6928.jpg

With no set plans we wandered back up Main Street with a stop at Caseys Corner where I apparently decided I could pull off a one-person the wave in the bleachers followed by a crazed looking cheering fan. Here's a short video of this silliness.

Cheering? Or angry fan?
DSCN6934.jpg

The one person 'wave' - it's very difficult to pull off this one!
DSCN6935.jpg

Moving on to Liberty Square we browsed the shops. I wonder what a guest in my home would think should they use these coasters and had no clue they were Disney HM inspired?

DSCN6950.jpg

A stop at the Tangled restrooms was in order and a chance to spy more Pascals. I dont think I found any more but I do love the beautiful theming of this area. How many parks have restrooms that you want to hang out in? Not any that I can recall.

DSCN6954.jpg

I just love this area! Forget that it is restrooms... although there are the recharging stations at the tables so see, it is functional as well as fun.

Lets mosey over to New FL. We were excited to see Lady Tremaine and the step-sisters. It was a short line so we added two more people to it. Em wasnt really into the character interaction but once the sisters started to ask her if I was at all like their mother and spoiled her with rich indulgences she perked up and joined the fun. I adore the interaction with these characters!

DSCN6964.jpg

Anastasia caught sight of my big ole' fake costume jewelry ring and picked up my hand and gushed over my 'rock'! She said to her mother, "this one definitely has a prince somewhere! She probably has the glass slipper in her closet right now! " HILARIOUS!!! :rotfl2: I just responded, "I think my ring came from the back of the mine train that the dwarfs were hauling." Oops! Completely wrong reference to the incorrect Disney movie but that's why I'm not a character since I'd completely fail at my job.

We also saw the Royal Majesty Merry Makers having a blast and leading a group in some merry-go-round dance. They were hilarious.

DSCN6967.jpg

Heading back to Main Street for lunch we took some photos of the castle. It was interesting that I captured the exact location of where the suite was located in my photos without knowing. Coincidence?
DSCN6970.jpg

THE Windows... little did we know....
DSCN6971.jpg

We wandered into the little princess shop and someone fascinating caught our eye in the mirror...

DSCN6979.jpg

Wait, that was just us. :lmao:

It was time to meet up with Dean and Linda for lunch so we cut through the walkway between the top of the hub and Fantasyland passing by the pop of fireworks from Dream Along with Mickey at the same time.

And if anyone is keeping track... we didn't receive any mysterious texts from Dean before lunch.

Continued Next Post

A lovely update, Brenda. So happy you hooked up with Dean and met his wife, and then saw many other CM's you've met along the way.

I'm going to go research that book as soon as I finish washing the floors (I'm on break right now).

I like your little video...you are just too cute for words. And love your walk around the MK. Yes, those coasters could certainly be the center of a conversation.

I have to say that the absolute best character interaction we have ever had has been with Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters! They are wonderful, and I'm glad Em got in on the action.

Beautiful pictures of the castle. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT UPDATE!

Alex is the best photopass photographer!!!!! I was so glad we went to him. He was a blast and took awesome/funny photos of us! He made my son giggle early on the morning which is hard to do lol

Let’s mosey over to New FL. We were excited to see Lady Tremaine and the step-sisters. It was a short line so we added two more people to it. Em wasn’t really into the character interaction but once the sisters started to ask her if I was at all like their mother and spoiled her with rich indulgences she perked up and joined the fun. I adore the interaction with these characters!

We saw the same actresses who played the step-mother and Anastasia when we ate dinner at the GF last February. They didn't get much of a chance to do their normal "evil" routine since my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter adored them and gave them big hugs. They had to be nice to her. :rotfl: I would have loved to have the kind of interaction that you had with them. :)

All caught up and I haven't missed it!!! Waiting patiently. ::yes::

You must be Disney royalty getting to meet these famous people!! Lucky you.

Love the update! I can't wait to see the reveal of the best suite ever! I'm going to definitely have to get that book!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I think that you love to keep us in suspense!! :rolleyes1 Can't wait to read about your tour of Cinderella's Dream Suite!

We chatted for a while with our pal the Mayor before moving on down Main Street. This sounds so fun, nothing like a personal meet and greet of Main Streets' entertainers.

The one person 'wave' - it's very difficult to pull off this one!
DSCN6935.jpg

This is why I love Disney, we're all kids at Disney. That's the best one person wave I've ever seen, might be the only one I've ever seen, but definitely the best!

Patiently waiting for the next update. :coffee:

:rotfl:That was a cute video - thanks for sharing.

Very cool that you got to meet Dean. Hmmm - what could that text message mean???? :confused3:scratching:hyper:

I want that book. Thanks for posting the link!

Glad that Em got into the character interaction. That can really be hit or miss with a teenager!

BTW: I hope you are staying warm in the Chicago burbs! My DH is from Batavia/Aurora so we've been checking the temps there!

Only a few miles away from us. It is COLD. DD and DH are the only ones in our family that the snow in our family, (besides the our Huskie that is) but tonight we are suppose to get wind chills up to -60F! Nearly all the schools are called off around here, except for my kids' school of course. I am not from here originally, so I am not a fan of the icey air.

My sister lives in San Diego... I think it is time for a visit.:beach:

Awww Brenda is there anybody you don't know? One thing I loved was how you always make a point to talk to all the CM's by name. Believe me, I noticed (and will be mentioned in my TR you betcha) and I just think it's wonderful. :goodvibes

BARB!!!!! I so love her.

It's either a one person wave... or "This is how you dry nails with Brenda" instuctional video. Either works. :thumbsup2

Haha, I love your interaction with the sisters (and mother). Disney characters reference other Disney movies and such all the time, so no big deal. Keeps 'em on their toes.

Quick question that I don't think I asked you. Are you in the book? You may have already mentioned it, but I can't remember.

And did you really leave on a cliffhanger again????

Fun update! Love how a walk down Main St. for you is like a high school reunion: meeting spouses, catching up on the kids, selfies, etc.

Awww... I loved seeing all of the pictures with you and all of the Main Street CMs - especially Dean! How fun!

LOL at your one person wave... It takes a LOT of talent to pull off something like that!

Interesting about the windows... Almost as if you had a premonition! ;)

Can't wait for the next update!!!

D~
