I want to be sure I understand these two things...

For arguments sake, let's say I have a contract with a November UY:

The way I understand banking is that I could essentially "roll over" current year points to the next year provided I do it 4 months before my UY (nov 1 or nov 30?)

Now, how does borrowing work? When can I borrow from the next year? And by banking and borrowing does this mean I can essentially combine points from 3 years to take a really big trip?

Thanks!

Yes, but you may only "roll over" the same points once. After you bank points, those points expire at the end of the use year into which you banked them.

Also, FYI, there is no November use year. No January, May or July use year either. No one here really knows why. Use years start on the 1st of the month.

You may borrow points if you need to do so when you are making a reservation that will use them. You may borrow points from the next use year. (Only one use year ahead).

To use 3 years worth of points, you would need to take the trip in Use Year 2. You would bank the points from Use Year 1 into Use Year 2 and borrow the points from Use Year 3.

Thanks! Can you bank points into a year other than a subsequent one? In other words could 2014 be banked into 2016 or later?

No. You can bank 2014 points into 2015. Then they would expire at the end of 2015 if you do not use them before then.

You can bank 2015 points into 2016 and you can bank 2016 points into 2017 and so forth. You may only bank points one use year ahead.

And just to add onto the good info that Carol has posted; you can't bank from one year to the next and then further bank those points into the following year.
