"RapidFill" RFID refillable mugs coming back resort wide...

Thanks for the help and info everyone! This is good information for our trip in 88 DAYS!:thumbsup2

Yes, AKV really means Kidani. Even though there are some Villas in Jambo House, they got lumped in with AKL for Fastpass testing.

Mugs went live across each resort at once time regardless of DVC or not. I was at BVC when it went live for BC, YC and BCV at once.

I am at cbr right now, and have done some fat guy independent testing, I was not given a mug that said rapidfill, although there are here, and I was never locked-out from the drink dispenser

Some of the new mugs don't say Rapid Fill. They may be some of the mugs used in the testing. Mine doesn't. But it clearly is an rfid mug.

What color is it?

I was about to ask myself. If it is green, orange, or purple, those are the RFID mugs. Pink, blue, or black, they are non-RFID.

CBR started selling the RFID mugs around August 18th, so I expect they are fully live by now.

At OKW does the soda and coffee close down at 11pm or is it open all night and open at 7am like it did before. Coming home soon.

We just returned from WDW. In general, the mugs worked alright. On a handful of occasions, the mug would not let me fill to the top and I got the message that I would have to wait nearly 3 minutes to finish filling it. Some of them would always say that the mug was not placed appropriately, even when a CM did it. Our mugs, despite being for all of us on the same DDP, had varying expiration dates (they were all past the end of our trip, but none of them were the same).

I think it isn't as bad as I thought it might be, but not as good as it should be. The same holds true for about all of WDW at the moment. WDW/Disney is not as bad as I sometimes think it is, but definitely not as great as it thinks it is.

Just completed our second visit to WDW since RapidFill went live. This time at POFQ for a 4 day visit with dining plan.

Picked up our Mugs on Wednesday December 11, and had them activated.

Filled my wife's, and it said valid until December 25. (Looks like a 14 day activation).
Filled mine, and it said valid until January 8! (Maybe they activated twice, getting 4 weeks!?)

Are other people seeing ridiculous extended times on their length of stay activations?

Yes, I did back in October when I was at POR. Very similar to what you're seeing.

We checked in and bought 1 mug ( we drink mostly water) for length of stay.. Our trip was dec 10-15 but it said I could refill til dec 24... The thing that made me mad was the limit in refills! You can only refill once every three min.. Just stupid!

It's actually up to three minutes now?

Of course, the reason for that delay is to prevent sharing of a single mug...

It was avg between 2:30-2:45 when we were at CBR in Oct, but it seemed like there was always 1 machine that wasnt online and just open , but as for the fast that the girl who activated our cups was confused , we got the 4+ days on our cups , since they were included in the dining plan.

Water should not have been affected by the time limit. The time limit is to prevent (or at least make it harder) people from buying one mug and sharing it with a group. Most people do not drink that fast, and if someone is trying to cheat the system, kudos to Disney for trying to stop them.

I don't drink soda except when we are at a Disney resort but when we go to Disney, I get a mug and have an orgy of soda drinking. :confused3 I will fill up the mug, drink quite a bit and then refill. The three minute time limit is going to be a PITA. I understand WHY Disney has the time limit but it is a PITA never the less.

If someone really wants to cheat the system they will just wait the three minutes to get another refill and you know the cheaters will just wait...

Later,
Dan
