I've had the Shepherd's Pie at Raglan Road but I don't recall the deep fried grasshopper on top of mine. :lmao:

Oh now that is just totally gross. That would keep me from eating it right there!! Ewwwwwww :faint::faint::faint::faint:

Where was your Nigiri from? Why did it never occur to me to order all tuna when there is sushi dish that included tuna and other fish I don't like? Was it extra to get all tuna?

Thanks!

Kona Island at the Polynesian :thumbsup2 I only eat tuna...I just can't get a taste for the other popular sushi fish.:lmao: I can't say 100% on the price because my husband usually squares away the bill, but on my last night there, it was $15.99 which was the price for the variety. On this past trip, I had the "All" Tuna Nigiri 3 times...The first 2 times I told the waiter that I wanted only Tuna and they said no problem. On my 3rd time the waiter told me that I could not order the Nigiri in all Tuna, I told him that I was here last night and the night before and the waiters said it was not an issue. He went back to the kitchen and the chefs said it was fine!

Last thing...If you notice in that picture the black stuff on top of the tuna...the first time I ordered it, the black stuff wasn't on the fish, but the last two times it was it delish! I believe it was some sort of salt, but it completely enhanced the flavors with the soy and wasabi!

he had a turkey leg at Flame Tree? I dont even see that on the menu.
(I wonder if that menu is changed.

I don't know if it's on the menu at Flame Tree, but there is a cart that sells the legs just on the other side of the bridge that leads from Flame Tree to Dinoland. I used to get the leg at the cart and then join the rest of my family as they got things from Flame Tree.

Nope, it was right at Flame Tree and it came with cole slaw and a drink as a CS meal.

Not sure if I posted all these, but here they are anyway:

50's Prime Time

Fried Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans
DD10 loved this but couldn't eat it all.
DS17, and DD19 also liked it, but think grandma's fried chicken is better.

Pot Roast
DH liked it, but felt that the restaurant was too much like homemade food and therefore not all that unique.

Kid's Meatloaf
I think dd3 liked it...I don't remember her complaining

Pot Pie
DS12 thought it was really good, except for the mushrooms

Kid's mac and cheese
DD9 liked it just fine

Kid's Chicken Nuggets
I think dd7 tried every variety of chicken nugget in the parks. She had no complaints about these

Gluten Free, Nut/Peanut Free Pot Pie
Chef at 50s was extremely helpful. Many items here are GF already or can be modified. DS14 thought it was delicious.

Mom's Sampler Platter
I had this. I was surprised that the one thing I thought I'd like the least was my favorite...the meatloaf. The rest was good, but not as flavorful as it could have been.

Gluten Free/Nut free/Peanut Free Brownie Sundae
DS14 couldn't finish this, it was so huge.

Boston Cream Pie Parfait. Big hit with DS17

Kid's make your own sundae
Always a big hit!

Garden Grill

Cupcake

Pizza Planet

GF Pepperoni Pizza and GF Brownie

Sausage pizza, Caesar salad, Cappuccino Cupcake (I think)

Raglan Road

Blackwell Beauty - Deep dish blackwell pear tart with almond frangipane served with vanilla bean ice-cream and sweet anglaise $8.50
Very tasty!

Dundon's Delight - Raspberry pavlova with vanilla pod ice cream and raspberry sauce $8.50
dd19 thought it was just ok

Dunbrody Kiss - Chef Dundon's gift to America. Chocolate. Add chocolate. Then add some more. With us? $8.50
I think they liked this.

Ger's Bread and Butter Pudding
I thought it didnt' really live up to the hype, not that it wasn't good, but it was WAY too sweet...and I love sugar so that's saying something. Our waitress plated it for us.

Strawberry & Apple Crumble - fFresh strawberries and apples in a tart with berry compote and vanilla bean ice cream $8.50
Got it to go, minus the ice cream, and I had it for breakfast the next day. Very good!

Thanks for posting. We've never tried 50s (wife is scared of getting yelled at), but I think the whole "tastes like home" is the gimmick. That's not the type of food we cook, so for us that would be special. But if grandma does make great fried chicken I can see how it wouldn't be of interest. :)

They were low key when we were there ( we had the same fear.).
Waitress tried to have my ds17 eat his veggies, but he wouldn't play along so she just joked and walked away. No biggie.
Food was decent, chef was EXCELLENT with ds's food allergies. Can't say enough about that.

I've never seen a waitress plate this tableside. That might be the problem. Did she pour the sauces on herself? They are very, very sweet, and a little goes a long way.... particularly the caramel sauce. Unfortunately this might have ruined the dish, as I generally find the pudding itself to be wonderfully flavorful.... definitely the best on property, and a good value considering the size of the portion. If I had one complaint, it'd be that it is too big, actually, as the top half of the pudding is far superior in my opinion to the bottom. In any case, just curious about how yours was done....

Yes. She said if you don't do it that way, you don't get sauce on all of it.
It was HUGE. could have shared with two people.
