The Christmas pics look awesome!! I have always wanted to go to Disneyland during Christmas. Hoping next year we can make it!

More great photos! Can't wait to see you guys today! will text you when we are heading out hopefully around 9:30 see you soon

Great photos! Can't believe it was that slow that night. Love that the lighted up candy canes mean snacks. Yum on the cookies. JJ's fedora is adorable! He looks so grown up with it on.

You had previously shown a photo of gargoyles on the castle. Read an interesting fact the other day and thought of you. It stated there were 13 gargoyles on the castle. I'm like you - never knew they were on the castle to start with.

Freezing here today - I think it is supposed to reach 40. Burr! Florida getting any of this cool blast?

I'm opposite, I carry too much. Earphones, wet wipes, therapy putty, hand sanitizer (or hanitizer as JJ calls it), medication, etc. The only thing mine in the bag is a very keychain/coin purse. I like looking at them too. I'm perfectly content window shopping too.

Oh.. no. I meant I don't carry many bags. In the parks... especially if I have dd with me I have a ton of stuff. I have to be able to take all of her medical supplies with me. Next trip though it is my hope she can back pack them around herself.

If she is able to make it in the standby line she won't need the DAS. You can always wait and see how it goes.

It depends... there have been lots of times that the standby works absolutely fine. Other times we have had to leave the line. It all depends on how she is doing.

Love all your MVMCP! So pretty! It is great that you were able to go that night!

Yay for staying at the Magic Kingdom and enjoying the party! Isn't it odd/weird/strange how the crowds can fluctuate so much from day to day?

I'll have to be sure and tell John that you were thinking of him when eating at Pecos Bill's. Gotta love those fixin's salads. ;)

The pictures of the castle all lit up make me want to go so badly during the Christmas holidays. It's gorgeous!

Today we met Lisa and Megan at the MK. Wow, was it busy! Lisa said it was a crowd level of 8. I don't doubt it. Got to see something new at the Ferry dock. We pulled into the MK on the LEFT side of the dock. Then exited where people would normally be standing to board the ferry. Oh, and the queue to get on the ferry was the longest I've ever seen. Even beat July 4th week for me. But I'll get back to this another day. It was great to spend time with Lisa and Megan again! JJ did so well. The temps were cool and JJ did very well. Got home in time to eat a quick supper and head out to JJ's new dance class. All his friends from the theater were invited to this class. It's adaptive ball room dancing. They learned the rhumba today. They needed more partners so I ended up doing it too. It's once a month. He did great through the class too. We swung by the library on the way home. He didn't want to go inside he said he had a headache. That's when the ticking began. His legs went wild. He's doing good now.

My in-laws arrive tomorrow for the holiday. The boys can't wait.

Great pictures!! So happy you guys got to experience the party with low crowds!!

Thanks! I'm sure we wouldn't have stayed for the party had the crowds been higher. It was the perfect party. We didn't go on rides, but during the party most of the signs said 5 minutes! It would have been the perfect time for someone who wanted to use the party ticket for taking advantage of going on the rides.

:welcome: Jackie! Thanks! Christmas at Disney is such a beautiful time. I hope you make it to Disneyland next year too! Hope you get to see the NBC stuff at the HM.

It was great to see you two today!! Can't wait to hear how the rest of your day went.

Thanks. It was a holiday, I expected a lot more people. I think they were all there today. The candy canes were easy to spot. There were quite a few stops. He loves that hat. He wears it every where.

Thanks for thinking of me. Did they say why it was 13? Now I spot them right away.

40? Burr!! Yesterday and today were cool. The evenings were very cool, needed a jacket. Tomorrow we are suppose to have rain with possible tornado I saw on my feed this morning. Hopefully it won't be as bad as they predict. My in-laws are driving here.

:welcome: Somehow while I was reading this in the car on the way home (dh was driving) I wasn't getting reception right. I kept clicking and before I new it, across the screen it said I sent you a contact request. Not even sure what that is?

Can't wait to continue reading about all the fun y'all have.

:welcome: So glad you're here.

Oh, I'm sure you have quite a bit more to haul when Zoe is with you.
I hope she does well while here. She goes through so much and tolerates so much more than the average person. She is a supergirl.

Thanks. JJ had never been to a Christmas party. I can't even remember our last one. It was nice to go again.

Yay for staying at the Magic Kingdom and enjoying the party! Isn't it odd/weird/strange how the crowds can fluctuate so much from day to day?

It WAS odd how low the crowd levels were. But it was so nice.

We ate at Pecos Bill's again today. Yum. I ended up having to cut my burger because of my ouchy teeth.

If you haven't ever been to Disney at Christmas, it's something to definitely consider doing it at least once if you can swing it. The decorations are so beautiful.

It sure sounds like it!! We've only done the Halloween party at DL once and it ended up being a super crowded night and my DH didn't want to listen to me about where to stand for fireworks and about the character meets. He said oh we can do the characters later. Well later didn't happen. The lines just got to long. We did see Mickey and Minnie though so I guess I won't complain to much and we were there and the kids loved it regardless. I'm hoping we'll get to do it again in a couple years but this time we'll do it near the beginning of the party dates and not the end. Lesson learned.

Glad you guys had a great day and getting to spend time with Lisa and Meghan. Poor JJ!! Glad he's doing better. Fun that the boys are excited about their grandparent's coming!! We leave tomorrow after my Dr.'s appointment for my parent's and the kids couldn't be more excited!!

So happy we got to spend the day with you all and that JJ had a great day! Bummer he got tics later on hope he is getting a good nights sleep
Dinner at bog was yummy and had a fun time with my scrapbookin DIS friend at top of the world at bay lake. And seeing wishes from there

Off to DHS today hoping it won't be as crowded watching Fantasmic and hope to see Osborne lights

Sounds like a busy day at MK!! But great you got to see Lisa and Megan! Sorry to hear JJ ended up with tics later in the day - could the headaches have caused them or vice versa? Dance sounds fun. Where's the pics of you doing the rumba??

None of the sites I can find say exactly why the castle has 13 gargoyles. This was one explanation for them being there that I could find???

"Cinderella's Castle features 18 towers and 13 gargoyles. Its design was inspired by various real and fictional castles including Fontainebleau in Versailles and the Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria."

Have you seen the new vera bradley bags "Where's Mickey" at the parks? They were first for sale on the cruise ships. I really like them and might just have to buy for myself but wondered what it looked like in person.

Wishing your parents a safe trip! Lots of rain out there day in our part of the world. Prayers for all those traveling through the ice, snow and rain!

So glad you are having wonderful Disney days; although I am sorry JJ had tics. I am REALLY sorry your teeth are still hurting, I hope you are able to enjoy the food today and just have a de-stressful day full of family fun.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have an incredible day. There is so much to be thankful for!

Grumpy and Grandpa are fishing. They fished all day yesterday too. I'm surprised they caught anything because it was cool outside. The fish and game warden was out and about yesterday. He stopped by them and talked. Grumpy was surprised he didn't look at their catch, because usually they'll check it out to make sure they meet regulation.

JJ had OT yesterday and we've been hanging out with Grandma. This morning he woke up and planted himself in front of the Macy's Parade. He's parked until he seen the Despicable Me2 float. He can't wait to see Gru, the minions, and the new character. He's so excited!!

We are eating our meal around 4. DH is working. Once he gets home and the guys get back from fishing, we'll sit down together for our meal. I'm putting the turkey in around 11. Working on the stuffing now. The house smells so yummy!

The characters are very popular here too. The lines of the more popular ones require getting in line an hour or two early. We did that last year at MNSSHP, but this year we didn't do that for any of the parties. However, we did see characters! We also didn't line up early for the parades or fireworks. Just played it by ear and things worked out fine! In fact, better than fine. We went to the train station area for the fireworks, most people were at the hub instead.

Thanks, we had a very nice time with Lisa and Megan. The weather was perfect too. We spent 5 hours at the park, something we haven't been able to do in a long time!

Some of his tics he can hide and they are very mild. But these legs ones where he kicks like crazy can't be hidden, he can't walk, loses balance if he's standing and they totally interfere. They are a real pain for him. He says they hurt too. Seems like they are something that are just going to pop up every now and then.

I have a relative who has Tourette's and he had very severe full body tics. He'd spend hours thrashing about on the floor. His mom assured me once he got out of puberty they stopped. He's in college and doing great now.

Enjoy your time with family!

It was fun! Megan has grown and matured so much in those two years. You've got a fantastic teen on your hands. You can be so proud of her. If she continues with her dream to teach dance, she will be a fantastic teacher. She was wonderful with JJ.

They both were entertaining with the "would you rather" game. Made for an interesting lunch, huh?

I knew you'd like BOG!! Glad the food was yummy. How was the interaction with the beast? Hurray for a fun time with friends at Top of the World. I can't wait to check it out in January!

Thanks. We had a very nice day at the MK despite the crowds. I think the stress of trying to learn the steps of the dance caused it. Because the time before then that he ticked so much, was after learning the blocking for the musical. Of course, I could be off base. The headaches do seem related.

ROFL, as if I'd post the pics of me. Goofy took video, but it shows an inch on my screen and I can't enlarge it, but it enlarges on his phone.

That's interesting about the castle.

So glad you are having wonderful Disney days; although I am sorry JJ had tics. I am REALLY sorry your teeth are still hurting, I hope you are able to enjoy the food today and just have a de-stressful day full of family fun.

Thanks, Judy. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

Back to MVMCP!

We left the hub and headed around the castle. We decided to skip the first parade. The castle looked beautiful and I was thrilled that the picture I took captured the very essence of that moment. I loved the reflection off the water.

We were headed to Tomorrowland, but I think we took a detour for a snack at the Pinocchio Haus. Then we were off to Tomorrowland.

We spotted Phineas and Ferb at the Carousel of Progress with a very short line. I'm not sure why they were here. They were suppose to be where Buzz Lightyear typically is.

As soon as we walked away, the show started. I hung back to take pictures, but missed Buzz Lightyear. JJ and dh found a spot off to the side.

The show is cute. JJ loved it, especially seeing Stitch. We saw this show last year too. But not at the party. We saw it before Christmas, when the shows are available to the public during the day. It was nice seeing it without the Christmas crowds. I know people have complained that they didn't think it fair to have the same show available to the public after MVMCP as during the paid event. It would be cool if it were two different shows.

The last time we went to MVMCP over a decade ago. There was a show in Tomorrowland. Galaxy Palace Theater is what comes to mine. There were seats to sit. It was back behind where Buzz Lightyear meets. That area is a parking lot now.

After the show we decided to catch the fireworks from the Train Station just like we did for MNSSHP. It's a great place to see it all. However, with the Celebrate the Magic projection show, the Christmas decorations along Main Street U.S.A. block the view of the projections.

O' Christmas tree firework

A picture of the Christmas tree on the Train Station.

Characters are JJ's favorite. He really wanted to see Mary Poppins and Bert, Scrooge McDuck, and Santa. So we set off on a character quest.

Santa was right next door to the train station, so that was a no brainer. We got right in line. Right away, JJ noticed this Santa wasn't the real deal. Please remember he still believes in Santa. He informed us right off the bat, that this was one of Santa's helpers. The real deal must still be at Pecos Bill's.

Our next stop was to Mary Poppins and Bert. Timing had been on our side the entire night up til this point. We just missed the cut off. Ten minutes into the M&G the line was cut off because it was so large. We decided to check out Scrooge McDuck. The characters weren't there yet. The line wasn't very long. There were about 10 people ahead of us and as time went by many, many behind us. Scrooge McDuck and Donald came out. Daisy wasn't.

There was a family who wanted to see Daisy so they were letting us all in front of them. I know at several M&G we have gone to in the past the cm didn't allow this. However, this time it was allowed and others followed suit.

JJ was tired. He wanted to go home. We passed by the dance party and saw Chip and Dale through the window. We stopped in to say hello.

JJ didn't want to dance. He wanted to leave the park. The parade was just starting. It was approaching the hub. We decided to cut through the rose path to get to Main Street.

Timing was in our favor again. For a while we were side by side with the parade, but then we gained momentum. We got to the Train Station just as the parade did. We convinced JJ that we should stop and see the parade. Here is where not only timing was on our side, but so were people. As I've said in other TRs, I do not believe in coincidence, but I do believe in divine appointments. Here is an example of on of them. We stopped behind a family. Just as we got settled into the spot, they excused themselves and said they had to leave. We now were front row right after by the turn!! This meant we had the perfect spot!!

The parade was great! It was so cool to see it in the dark with the lights. This is another favorite that we've always seen in the light before Christmas. Christmas Day we watch it the pretaped parade on TV. Taping for that is next weekend! So again, this is another Christmas favorite that can be seen once the Christmas shows become public. The only difference is that it's shown in the daytime. So it takes on a whole different ambiance.

We really enjoyed the Christmas party. I doubt that we will do this again anytime soon, but maybe in a couple years. We will probably catch it free during the Christmas season instead. But if I was visiting before Christmas and Christmas wasn't available to me, I'd definitely give the party a try!!

You make me want to do the Christmas Party and see the parade. :thumbsup2

How are your teeth?

As do I. I saw the real Santa at our mall last year :goodvibes First time in a long time that I had seen him!

I never get tired of looking at Christmas trees and decorations. And now when I watch the parade on Christmas morning, I can remember these pictures and think of you!
