YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Oh, those Yacht Club photos are stunning! We normally stay at WL and have tried BC once, but now I'm seriously considering a YC stay.

I'm new to your trip reports (loving this one so far!)...do you frequently stay CL? Do you think the perks are worth the extra $$$?

Congratulations on top thread of the month! I love the fancy banner below your user name!!

Boma breakfast looks great! We ate dinner there when we stayed at AKL but definitely want to try breakfast.

The Mara is really good... although we only actually ate one meal there when we stayed at AKL. The best part of it is ZEBRA DOMES! Which Boma also has at dinner.

Sum of all thrills has been on my must do list FOREVER! I have never actually seen the ride, I have somehow missed it every visit to Epcot.

Nice score on the insta-fast passes for TT! I didn't get to ride it on our last trip since the refurb so I'm not up on the changes.

That's so cool that you keep running into Kathy!

I love your pictures of San Angel Inn! Somehow TS in Mexico has never made our list. If it's anything like the CS we've had, I'm sure it was excellent! The pictures of the food definitely look yummy.

Another things we haven't done... visited the American Adventure. Yes, our Disney to do list is super long.

Wow, Kathy is super popular!

I love the International Gateway! Oh my goodness for a second I thought you got upgraded again at the YC, lol. Did it almost feel like a let down after the last time there?

The deluxe room looks very nice. Something to consider. Now that Gavin is here, the standard hotel room probably just won't do for us since he naps and goes to bed before us and we need more space. That pretty much prices us out of most on site accomodations unfortunately since we'd need a 1 bedroom villa. But I think the deluxe room might work, is there a TV in the sitting area? At least we would be able to do something while Gavin napped and went to bed before us, lol. Anyway sorry for the tangent...

I always lived out of a suitcase every time until our last trip when we stayed in the AoA suite. I actually unpacked us and put our stuff in the drawers and stashed away the suitcases. It was actually really nice and it was fun to pretend that we lived there since it made it feel just a little bit more like home.

Okay, so, so sorry for not getting over here sooner.

I guess I have a few posts to go back and comment on. :goodvibes
First off, I'm totally down with you on the goat cheese thing, as I tell my kids (who love goat cheese by the way) I'd probably like licking the goat better.
Boma, does it get much better?!? I finally got to eat their breakfast there this last trip, but I think we'll be trying the Tusker house buffet next time. :)Which did you like better?

I'm right there with you on crying when I see The American Adventure, that and the Hall of Presidents. I'm always moved by both, but then again I'm a big sap when it comes to being patriotic.

I've never been to the YC, I think I've seen it from afar when we were walking Pat back to her resort, but beyond that we've not been there. I'll have to see it some time, it looks like a beautiful place to stay. :)
Your room is enormous! What a nice suite! :thumbsup2

All the meets are great, can't wait to see who else you run into. :goodvibes

It's funny to hear about everyone's idiosyncrasies when it comes to unpacking at the resort or unpacking when you get home.
Me, I'm one who lives out of her suitcase while vacationing, but as soon as I get home I have to unpack or it will drive me C R A Z Y!! :rotfl: And I mean as SOON as I get home! Okay, if it's late then I wait until the next morning, but as soon as I'm up I can't take it and I have to unpack.

Beautiful room who needs an upgrade with that room. Wish we could stay in a room like that when we go. But Mods are in our price range no deluxe and for sure no club lv.......alas we will get squished into a much smaller room and have a EVC in there to boot. lol

That is one gorgeous room! We have never been able to get in to the Yacht or Beach Club using our DVC points but man do I ever want to!

And I also love to unpack while at Disney. Can't stand living out of a suitcase. Makes it seem like I'm really not staying there for very long. At least if I put my clothes away I'm staying for a while! :thumbsup2

What a great picture of you girls at the fountain in France. Such a pretty backdrop! It's definitely one of the most photogenic pavilions in WS.

Well, it's no Admiral Suite, but that is still a gorgeous and spacious room!! I am totally with you, I can't stand living out of a suitcase. It drives me nuts when I am forced to do it for a night! Teenagers are a special breed though, so it's no wonder Em had no problem with it. :rotfl:

Hi Brenda!

I love the pictures of Animal Kingdom Lodge on your last day there! That staircase is so beautiful and how awesome to wake up to a giraffe outside your window!

Sum of All Thrills was on our to do list, but we missed it again! It was fun seeing your pictures and I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

I'm sorry to read you didn't like the new Test Track concept! I've talked to many family friends that didn't like it either!! That's so disappointing, because it was such a favorite here prior to the change! We didn't get to ride that this trip either because of storms, so I have no opinion to weigh in one way or the other, but my optimism about the changes has definitely decreased!

Your tour around world showcase looks like it was very nice! And a good lunch, Dismeets, and some very lovely Photopass pictures to boot! Sounds like a fine afternoon!

Wow! Your YC room is gorgeous!!! I love the beds and the sink area is stunning! The view is pretty great as well! Love it all!! That resort has never been on my radar as much as some others, but it is definitely beautiful!!

Really enjoyed these updates!

Wow what a beautiful room!!! Looking forward to some pictures from the balcony. :)

I love how you keep running into Kathy. So great that you are having so many dismeets. Of course it seems like you will be having twice as many in your upcoming trip. :goodvibes

I unpack everything and do my best to organize while in the room. 4 people in a standard size room for 8 days and it starts to get crazy. Having opened suitcases hanging around would just be tripping hazards waiting to happen. However when I get home it takes forever for me to get everything unpacked, I just do it little by little. :)

I had fallen a few updates behind. All caught up now. I am not a huge fan of the updated Test Track. Feels like it just makes the wait longer. The ride itself is OK. I did it enough this summer to never feel like I must do it again.

How awesome that you kept having inadvertent Dis meets.

Your room at YC is gorgeous and what an awesome view! Love the extra space you have in that sitting room.

Congratulations on your Thread of the Month!!!! :cool1:

Brenda, Love the pictures of the YC. We stayed at the YC CL a few years ago and absolutely enjoyed it. The YC has a great location and the resort itself has such a comortable setting. I One of these days I'm going to have to return. The only two things I did not enjoy at the YC were:

1. Have to admit, I could not stand the bus situation; having to share a bus with the YC/BC/BWI, Dolphin and Swan made for some big time inconvenience to say the least.

2. When we were there the Superbowl was being played in Tampa. There were a lot of people at YC because of the game. You may say what was the problem with that? Well the problem is I can't stand the Steelers (or Ravens) and who do you think was in the Superbowl while this Browns fan was in WDW... Yep, you got it, ME. I could not stand seeing all those #7 Steeler jerseys all over. :lmao::rotfl:

Happy Tuesday or otherwise known as my 6th favorite day of the week!!

That made me giggle!

Beautiful room pics! I live out of the suitcase when I'm on vacation, too. And then I generally don't unpack it for a week after I get home because I'm sad. LOL.

Yay - another Dismeet with Kathy! I guess you could *kind of* say we met, considering we both met Kathy on this trip... Dismeet cousins perhaps? LOL

I would agree D~ we can be Dis cousins once removed! :lmao:

OK - seriously!!!!!!!!!! Crap... I love this room too!!!!!!!!!!! This would be a perfect room for the girls and I - what a great size and TWO mirrors!!!!!! Leaving now to go to the WDW website and research a trip staying in this room. It will probably knock our 9 day trip budget down to 2 days, but yowza... How awesome!!!! So, how long are you in this room for?

It was a very nice room for 4 nites. I was glad that I had a good discount applied to that room since the rack rate is a little crazy.

I have to LOL at Em not unpacking... I am soooo guilty of this right now. Clearly, I've unpacked all of my clothes n' such... But my suitcase is still packed and on the ottoman in our bedroom with all of my park supplies (pins, frog togs, Mickey Ears, sunscreen... You know - everything I don't need for a MN winter - LOL). DH still doesn't know about our trip - but how can he not guess? I am seriously half packed. LOL I just need to throw my clothes back in and I can take off at a moments notice. So, WTG Em for being half packed too! LOL

D~

Too funny D~! :rotfl: Yeah, I'm sure that sunscreen isn't going to be making an appearance this winter. It's good that you are prepared. :thumbsup2

That's funny!!! :rotfl2:

********************************************

YAY!!!

:woohoo:

It's YC check-in day!!!

Love the room. We (I) have very few photos of the elusive YC Deluxe Room, so I will be "borrowing" part of your update to include on the Yacht & Beach Club Deluxe/Suite Room Thread. Some of your pictures are already prominently featured on that thread!!!

You can never have too much Kathy & Mark, and I'm sure they felt the same about running into you all day! What a small world!

:rotfl:

And now you are having meets within meets. Love it!

I can totally appreciate your OCD tendencies! As you probably know, I put the "Dee" in OCD!!!

.

Dee no problem, please use any/all photos for the YC/BC thread. I have more that I may post and you are welcome to those as well.

It was quite a feat to keep running into Kathy since we were traveling all over the "world". ;) I like you meet within a meet - very well said.

As for OCD, I prefer to think of it as just being "normal".

Nice room in YC! Does the sitting room have a TV as well? It had to be a wee bit dispointing not to be upgraded again. One can always hope!

I'm with you in the unpacking. I'm sure my family just tolerates it now...they are all live out of the suitcase types at heart. Heck, at home they are live out of the laundry basket types! :lmao: Drives me crazy!

Christine

So funny that you asked about the second TV. The video that I took when we entered the room I said oh, there's got to be a TV in the sitting room and there's .. uh... just a closet! So funny but they faked me out!.

The room was very nice and honestly we know we'll never have that magic again for the suite upgrade. One of the reasons we booked this room type is to more gently return us to the reality of the standard room type is in our budget.

Ha ha!! I'm laughing so hard about your living out of the laundry basket at home. Oh my gosh!! :lmao: My family tries to do that and it drives me crazy. I'll fold and put away their clothes for them instead of seeing them lay around.

While not being upgraded is a bit disappointing... It's a very beautiful room and the flowers were a great touch!! I love what you have to say about Em and her suitcase! I I think I just put my suitcase away from our September trip!

It was a great room and those fresh flowers were a nice touch!

Ha ha! You are doing better than Em with the bag. ;)

This is making me do this: :rotfl2:

I have a confession. I am usually totally OCD about unpacking too. I usually end up hanging things and putting my shoes nicely in the closet and whatnot. But this last trip I ended up throwing my suitcase on our extra bed and I proceeded to live out of it for a week :upsidedow

I have no clue what was wrong with me. But when we got home it ended up living in the closet full of vacation things. Until I dumped it all out so I could put books in my suitcase (don't judge, we're moving and it's easier to roll books than to carry them!).

I could have just said what Em said, I'm already packing for our May Honeymoon! ;)

You're room is beautiful. I mean it's no Admiral Suite but it's still gorgeous. You have a perfect view and those flowers were such a nice touch. So nice and comforting.

You are too funny! I have to share these photos....

The closet went from this:
DSCN5339.jpg

to this... in 20 minutes:
DSCN5343.jpg

And yes, I bring a hanging shoe organizer!! :lmao:

Actually you are very clever to "roll" your books to your new place.

BTW: Are you doing a Disneymoon?

Was your deluxe room on the CL floor? I know at the BC they are not and people will complain about having to travel to the lounge. :goodvibes

The room was on the 4th floor and the lounge is on the 5th floor. We had no problem walking back and forth between the two which was the same as our trip earlier this year when we were on the same floor. No big deal really. :)

I live out of my suitcase at the hotel if I am changing rooms and things are okay not being hung up!

I'm with Em. My suitcase is half packed for December!! Although I'm thinking I may need a bit more than light tops and tank tops!! In fact I'm kinda confused on how I should be packing!!

See, you are one of those be prepared types. I'm one that creates extra work for myself but I can't help it! :scared:

I agree. I've been watching the 10 day forecasts but I'm confused on what to pack. Being the cool weather wimp that I am I may even bring a jacket for early December. I would say that I don't want to over-pack but the number of bags we end up bringing pretty much says otherwise.

Very popular!!!!!!!!

Oh I LOVE the Yacht Club. These pictures make me sad as I just don't know that I'll ever stay there again unless they build DVC there (and if they did Jeff would make me sell something so we could buy there!). I don't know what it is but I swear that is my favorite bathroom on property. At least to date. I love the separate sitting room too, something about having all that extra space is SOOOO relaxing and nice if one wants to sleep and the other doesn't!

I have to unpack too. HAVE to. I do vastly prefer to do it with no one else in the room too. :rotfl2: Faster that way and then I can stash suitcases away and have the illusion of a neat room for at least a few hours.

Great view and I love the fresh flowers!

Hi Cynthia! As are you my dear!

I would say that being a DVC owner trumps paying cash for a regular resort room! I dream of being you!

It was nice to have the sitting room since I am the early riser in the family so it is someplace to retreat.

See? You can relate! Part of my obsession is having a place to put the bags out of the way as well. ;)

Gorgeous room!

I am guilty of living out of suitcases too. I still haven't unpacked one of mine from my trip 3 weeks ago. *hanging head in shame* It's way more fun to pack for a trip than to unpack!

Jill in CO

Thanks Jill! :rotfl2: Too funny! You know, you'll eventually need something out of the bag and after a period of time it will unpack itself!

First, thanks for being willing to look for the t-shirt for Mark. Let me know what I owe you, if you get it, and I can mail you a check or give you the money when we see you in about three weeks. :goodvibes

Seriously, we have to STOP meeting like this. People are going to talk. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm glad you were able to meet Marilyn and we got yet another photo together. Hmmm...how come Em wasn't in the photo?

Great photopass picture in France.

What a beautiful room at the Yacht Club. I know it wasn't the Admiral's Suite, but it is very nice anyway. I never had a desire to stay there, but after seeing your pictures...it's not so bad. But with no DVC, I'm afraid that one will remain out of our price range.

Great view you had. :thumbsup2

No worries Kathy! I'll hook you up for the tee.

I disagree, we shouldn't stop meeting like that!! :p Hopefully if people talk they'll say how lucky I am to run into you. I think Em took that photo of the three of us. I looked to see if there was another but there wasn't.

Definitely DVC is a much better option. I do prefer the villas. In comparing this room to a 1 bedroom villa, honestly, a 1 bedroom is much preferred. This room is a mini suite but in practicality it is not as good as a 1 bedroom. Just my opinion.

It was a great view - especially of the Boardwalk at night.

Beautiful room! I'm not a huge fan of YC/BC, mostly because I live near New England and see that look a lot around here, but that deluxe room is lovely.
Augh, I could never live out of a suitcase on vacation! Only if I stay in a hotel for one night do I not unpack and hang stuff up/fill the drawers. That's what they're there for! Zach's suitcase from Disney was on the floor of our bedroom for a solid month after our trip, thought, so Em has a kindred spirit there!

Hi Kylie! I live near the beach on the other coast and we have a totally different vibe so I love the New England thing. :thumbsup2

It is good to see other Disers weigh in and make me think my kid isn't completely alone in the never unpacking thing.

Haha, that's so funny that you two keep running into each other. If it was planned you'd probably STILL be there trying to find each other. :rotfl:

AND, I always love that you always do your traditional Check-In pictures. :goodvibes

But geez Brenda, how did you ever put up with staying in such a dump? I mean it's ok I guess, but it's no Admiral Suite. :rotfl2:

But seriously, WOW, yet another beautiful room with an AMAZING view. I hope you got some early morning shots. I bet the sunrise is breathtaking.

Exactly Rob! It would be Marco / Polo where are you Kathy. We seriously only had 1 actual meet planned. And we're not done meeting up yet. ;)

Oh that room! I had to make sure Disney was fine with putting us in this little old room and to please leave the suite for some other guest who hasn't experienced that magic yet. They must have received the memo thus the deluxe room. :rotfl2:

I loved the view for sure! Can't recall if I had any worthwhile sunrise photos like last time.

Subscribing!
I'm so glad that you are joining nittanyliongirl! Welcome!!! :welcome:

I'm not ignoring the rest of the comments.. all are read and responses to follow a little later!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! :goodvibes

I like your closet organizer. :) We unpack completely into our resort rooms, too. I like to put everything in the drawers and the closet and make it look very tidy. That is why we don't like to switch resorts during a trip. It is more relaxing for us to feel anchored to a "home" for the duration. Em probably figures that it would be a waste of time to unpack now, since you are leaving for WDW again in about three weeks. :)

The YC is a beautiful resort. I am guessing that you prefer it to the BC. We love the BC and BCV's and have mostly stayed there the last twenty years, until this year when we discovered the gorgeous Wilderness Lodge. We were at the YC once, when we got bumped over there from the BC. The room was very nice but we didn't like the lack of quick service place. I know that it isn't that far to the Marketplace at the BC, but it was inconvenient. We have another booked in March and this time we will be back at the BC. :)

We stayed in a 2 BR villa at the BCV three times, and a villa would be my idea of luxury. If I was going to splurge, that would be my choice. We once had a free upgrade to a suite at the BC that was similar to your YC suite. It was only for two nights, but it was really nice to have the extra space, especially since we had our daughters with us. They were teenagers at the time and were probably even happier to have their own space then we were. :goodvibes

Yay!! What a surprise again dismeet, that's awesome! Lol.

YC is too gorgeous to be true, like, I love that place. Depending how the saving goes I may have to spoil myself and stay there next Nov!!

Bahaha! I totally do the same thing as Em after vacation!! I live out of a suitcase on my floor for a few weeks while trying to settle back into real life!

Kathy had her Brenda-radar on that day for sure!

You know..... they release AP rates all the time so keep that pass handy.

Heck, I think you'll need to keep your suitcase handy with your frequent trips!

You are popular too! I can't wait to hear all about your meet ups in December!

Oh yacht club, I miss you! Rich didn't like walking down the never ending hallways but it was too pretty for me to care. Those beds, the anchors on the furniture, the rope around the mirrors...makes a US Navy granddaughter happy.

I still think you guys are super sweet for getting him a Beatles gift. That section in the UK is so fun.

Thanks Jennifer!

Yeah, Rich has a point. Sometimes it takes as long to walk to the elevator as it would to walk to Epcot! :p We have something in common since I'm a US Navy baby. I was born while my dad was serving in active duty for the Navy.

It is super easy to shop for a Beatles gift in Epcot's England. Thank goodness the waiter wasn't a Supertramp fan. That would have been not so easy!

That France background with the fountain is just one of the loveliest places!

No Admiral Suite, but still a VERY nice room! I love how the headboards look like the steering wheel of a boat.

I take the longest time to unpack from trips. I'm going to use the excuse of "Just getting ready for the next trip!" from now on. SO SOON!

Hi Courtney! I can see why they station a photopass person in front of that fountain - very scenic indeed.

It's the details! The theming for each resort is so perfect.

Seeing as how you will be back in WDW in a couple weeks I would agree! :thumbsup2

Love your pics form YC, although I think we will be staying BC next trip. They are both beautiful resorts. I love that you and Kat keep running into each other. As for living out of suitcase I normally do. It does take some planning and I'm getting lazy so next trip I think I'm going to unpack. As for home everything get washed so not a problem. Opps except for the stuff I really only use at Disney. Speaking of forgetting to unpack. After last trip I thought I left a cheap necklace behind, it wasn't till a few months later that I needed the suitcase and found the necklace (and a few other things I forgot about) in with my window cling on things.

Hi Sandy! We stayed at BC our first girl trip so I have fond memories of that resort.

Lost items in your bags! I've done that with things in the outside pockets that I've forgotten to check. There's that flip flop! :lmao:

At least you were reunited with your missing necklace.

Geez, that room is gorgeous!:cloud9::love: And the view is magnificent too. Makes me really want to stay at Yacht or Beach club one day.

I really love unpacking at hotels, especially at Disney! Makes me feel like i'm at home :)

Thanks! We enjoyed the room, loved the view! With these smaller rooms I definitely feel like I need to unpack even if I wasn't OCD. At least compared to the villas that have so much more space and closets.

I guess you can't always be upgraded :rotfl2: but it's still a gorgeous room!!!

:) Nope, not all the time. But we did get compensation pixie dust with the Dream Suite tour.

Ha ha! I think pretty soon people are going to worry if they see us traveling solo.

You know.... there are AP discounts all the time so keep that pass handy.

Seeing as how your next trip is so soon having your suitcase out is completely justified. Actually as often as you head to WDW you may be in a perpetual state of packing and unpacking!

:) Rich has a point! Sometimes it takes as long to walk to the lobby as to Epcot. We seem to stay in the rooms that are farthest from the elevators.

What do you know! We have something in common besides a love of Disney. I was a Navy baby since I was born while my dad was in active duty.

I'm grateful that our server was a Beatles fan since there's an abundance of Beetles gifts in Epcot/England. Good thing he wasn't a Supertramp fan, that would have been a lot more difficult to pull off.

SO SOON!

Isn't that fountain a great backdrop? I suppose that's why they have photopass photographers stationed there frequently.

It was a very nice room despite not having the opulence of the Admiral Suite.

You definitely have a great reason to have your suitcase out. What is it - less than two weeks from now since you travel on Thanksgiving. ::yes::

Thanks Sandy! We stayed at BC our very first girl trip so it has great sentiment for us.

That's too funny forgetting stuff in your bags. At least you found the missing necklace! I can relate .... there's that flip flop!

Geez, that room is gorgeous!:cloud9::love: And the view is magnificent too. Makes me really want to stay at Yacht or Beach club one day.

I really love unpacking at hotels, especially at Disney! Makes me feel like i'm at home :)

Thanks! We liked the room, loved the view. Especially at night with the Boardwalk lit up.

It would bother me if I didn't unpack so it's for everyone's sanity that I do so. If I wanted the room to be more like home I'd need to have my hubby's socks laying around the room. ;)

Oh, those Yacht Club photos are stunning! We normally stay at WL and have tried BC once, but now I'm seriously considering a YC stay.

I'm new to your trip reports (loving this one so far!)...do you frequently stay CL? Do you think the perks are worth the extra $$$?

We stayed at WL for the first time at the beginning of this trip. :thumbsup2

I had to think a moment about the stays that we've had at non-DVC resorts and I guess we have stayed CL at any resort that was booked longer than 1 night. Honestly, I like the convenience of the CL lounge, beverages, and concierge services but I wouldn't say that it is necessarily worth the extra expense. I justify CL by "spending" my savings that I get on room discounts for the "upgrade" to CL. Not sure that makes sense but it is more of a preference.
