YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

I loved your last update. San Angel and American Adventure were two new things we experienced on our past trip and we loved them both!
I thought my kids would be bored to death in American Adventure, but they liked it. Surprisingly my DS8 was actually was on the edge of his seat the entire time and I downloaded the Golden Dream song for him once we got home. He may be becoming a little history buff?
And you can't beat the atmosphere of San Angel. We all agreed it's a must do for our next trip. You had great seats next to the water.
My family enjoys Test Track, but we have never been on the old version, so we have nothing to compare it to.

Thanks Kristy! Well, I'd say that the one thing that you did that was new that you loved was wayyyy beyond anything that SAI or American Adventure could offer! :)

If your son ever becomes a history professor you can say that it all started with a trip to WDW! That is pretty cool that he loved the show.

Once I get past the queue and get into the car, TT is a pretty cool attraction.

Great Last day at AKL and Welcome to Epcot pictures. :)

Love all your balcony shots and all the animals just wandering around outside your window. One day I will stay there so I can see that. My kids would be thrilled to have a giraffe right outside. :goodvibes

Congrats on the FP to TT. Always nice when someone spreads the pixie dust around.

I haven't been on the new TT yet so I will have to see what I think when I go in Jan. I like the old version and so far it doesn't sound like the upgrade made it better.

Nice picture of you with Kathy!!

I have never seen American Adventure. I am a bad American. Have to get over there to see that this time.

Thanks Gracer! Definitely the view of the animals was a highlight of our trip. Absolutely, you and your kids would be thrilled to wake up to a giraffe or even a zebra or two.

Kindness is alive and well in Disney! :)

I'll be interested to see which side of the pre and post TT refurb you'll be on after January!

Thanks! I'm building up my Kathy photo collection!

Brenda, I am not going to take any more trips. I get too far behind on TR's (including my own). :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Forgive me for taking so long to get here.

Nice pixiedust: on the FP's for Test Track. Not a fan; we didn't even bother with it in August.

We didn't mind hiking over to Mexico. And, of course, you know Mark had to try on a hat or two while we were there. I was so happy that we found we would be dining at the same place later that evening. :goodvibes

I love the American Adventure. We missed it this trip because we had a DIS meet and the timing wouldn't work. We will for sure do it next year.

By the way, if you get back to DL and see that Grumpy/Santa shirt that your husband posted on FB, would you look and see if they have a 3X? Mark would LOVE to have that shirt (even if it says Disneyland). A 2X works, but he worries that they will shrink and why he goes with a 3X.

Hi Kathy! No worries. I know how it goes. Believe me, I've been trying to get an update done for two nights now. :upsidedow

TT isn't a must do for us so we'll see if we even ride next month.

That's funny that everyone can guess what Mark would do while killing time in a Disney shop!!

Speaking of your Dismeet that you had to run along to.... I know who and I know where and I do believe I see another Kathy photo op coming up in my next installment! AND another KatMark appearance at dinner. People might think we were really traveling together we saw you so much! It was all good!

Not a problem with the Grumpy tee. I should be back at DL this weekend so I will look for it. :thumbsup2

I am all caught up (well, to be honest, I read the other day, I just didn't post...and :blush: Didn't say HAPPY VETERAN'S Day and Thank you to Chad and your entire family for your service to our country).

I saw Kathy in the midst of one of your pics...right after the newly designed TT...I love the AA as well, so touching/uplifting!

Judy you are so very sweet! THANK YOU!! I should have wished the same to you and your family since your hubby has served as well.

Makes you proud to be an American when you see the AA show doesn't it? :)

Thanks for getting caught up my friend!

I believe I am all caught up!

:cool1:

Hi Dee! I'm glad you are caught up!

Sounds like you enjoyed the breakfast at Boma, even if your selections were not particularly ethnic. Ben and I enjoyed the one time we dined there.

So, between breakfast at Boma and Tusker House, did you prefer TH?

I prefer Boma. Mostly because the choices are more manageable, I didn't have to wander around for 10 minutes trying to decide what to eat. (Although a big nod to TH for the Krispy Kreme!)

I enjoyed reading about your go on Sum of All Thrills. Although it is kind of a hidden gem, the lines are usually pretty long when the attraction is open. My husband used to work at Raytheon when he was first out of college, so we get a kick out of their "subtle" sponsorship.
It really is a lesser known attraction especially since it is tucked inside one of the Innoventions pavilions. Isn't that a coincidence that your hubby worked for the sponsor. Whenever we are in that Innoventions pavilion I stop to pose for a photo with one of the other attractions that is sponsored by my company - Habit Hero's.

I can see how following up with more design stuff may have been a bit of overkill. We liked the new version of Test Track. The boys had fun designing their own cars. I kind of liked the "black light-chic" of the inside track. And as always, the speed track is super exciting.

I think I was a little pissy because they didn't give us a magnetic card and then when I looked to see if there was anyone to assist I noticed that we were enclosed in a room with no doors and no windows and we had to find a way out... oh wait, wrong attraction. But seriously, there were no CMs in the room and you just had to wait for the 3 minutes or whatever to pass before they moved you along. ;)

Hooray for a another meet with Kathy and Mark and another one in the hopper for later that night!

Yes, we were not done running into them. We've got a couple more to follow...

It has been years since we have dined at San Angel- we used to go on every trip, but have not taken the boys there. And after our awesome experience at La Hacienda, I'm not sure we will be returning soon. But you really can't beat the ambience of the restaurant. I have read that you can see a hidden mickey in the smoke of the volcano, but I have never seen it.

I remember your scurrying to La Hacienda for dinner and taking a detour to SE! We were lucky to have a great experience at SAI. I took about a dozen photos of the volcano and although I can't make out a hidden Mickey I can see where there could be one there.

I enjoyed reading about another great dining experience at Yachtsman with your favorite waiter. That is so cool that you keep in touch with him!

YSH is one of my favorite Disney restaurants in great part to our wonderful server pal Ricardo. We will be seeing him in a few weeks. He's such a sweet man.

One of these days I'm going to have to spend more time in Epcot. There's so much there that I haven't done! Of all the things you mentioned in your last update I haven't done a single one! That's pitiful. Clearly more trips to wdw are in order! :) I have been inside the Mexico pavilion though and I think the San Angel Inn is so beautiful. It hasn't made it onto my list of place I want to eat yet though because the reviews of the food seem so hit or miss. Maybe we'll have to try it sometime though.

Hi Rachel! Epcot is so huge that you could spend a few days there and still not see/do everything so I can see that. It took us 6 trips to finally see Ellen's universe of Energy.

I love your logic for more Disney trips. Makes sense to me. ;)

We've made and cancelled so many SAI dining reservations in the past since there were some scary dining reviews out there. We finally didn't cancel and I'm glad we didn't. It doesn't mean that the next time we go it may be completely horrid! :confused3 Try it sometime. :)

Tuesday August 20, 2013: Day 5, Part 3

We had just left the American Adventure and were walking through Morocco minding our own business taking this photo:

DSCN5247.jpg

When I hear a voice behind me comment “nice picture”…. Considering that I don’t normally have random strangers provide commentary on my photography skills, I was a bit suspicious. Well, who do you know is following us? Miss Kathy and Mark!! In reality, Kathy was on her way to France for yet another Dismeet! Popular gal I tell ya.

We met Marilyn (FloridaDreaming) in France with Kathy. We even have a photo to prove it!

DSCN5249.jpg

While we were in France we spied a photopass photographer and you know what that means.

DSCN5251.jpg

We had to get moving to purchase a gift before heading back to the resort to check-in, fetch our bags, and then freshen up for dinner. Since our intended gift recipient was leaving to go to real live England for a Beatles fan meet up, we headed to WS virtual England for some Beatles swag. After touring the shops of the UK we posed for one more photopass picture before exiting via International Gateway for the 5 minute walk to Yacht Club.

DSCN5268.jpg

DSCN5274.jpg

We arrived around 4:30pm and walked up to the front desk to check in. The CM punched us up on is computer and then announced that our suite was ready! Just kidding! No, there was no repeat of our last check in experience unless you count being taken up to the 5th floor for check-in at the CL lounge.

DSCN5292.jpg

So yeah, the reality was that he saw that we were Club Level guests and said that he would call for a CM to take us upstairs to get our room keys. We had an uneventful check-in, were given our keys and told that we were in room #4201.

DSCN5294.jpg

We both posed for a “before we enter the room” photo.

And then…. Our keys worked and we entered the room. Surprise! It’s just what we paid for.

DSCN5306.jpg

This was a deluxe room with a separate sitting room, bedroom with two queen beds and the standard deluxe bathroom that has a separate dressing area from the toilet/shower room. There were French doors that separated the sitting room from the bedroom. It also had a full balcony that overlooked the pool and Crescent Lake with a nice view of the Boardwalk. One very nice touch in the room was a small arrangement of fresh cut flowers.

It's time for some room photos:

Bell service delivered our bags – all were present and accounted for and our Mickey bag was still hanging on for dear life.

Once I had unpacked and organized everything I felt so much better! I shouldn’t say everything since Em decided to live out of a suitcase the entire trip. I’m one of those OCD people who could never do that. I believe she is still living out of a suitcase since it is still on the floor in her room. I suppose I could think of it this way, she’s already one step ahead of me for our next trip a few weeks from now.

Yay - another Dismeet with Kathy! I guess you could *kind of* say we met, considering we both met Kathy on this trip... Dismeet cousins perhaps? LOL

OK - seriously!!!!!!!!!! Crap... I love this room too!!!!!!!!!!! This would be a perfect room for the girls and I - what a great size and TWO mirrors!!!!!! Leaving now to go to the WDW website and research a trip staying in this room. It will probably knock our 9 day trip budget down to 2 days, but yowza... How awesome!!!! So, how long are you in this room for?

I have to LOL at Em not unpacking... I am soooo guilty of this right now. Clearly, I've unpacked all of my clothes n' such... But my suitcase is still packed and on the ottoman in our bedroom with all of my park supplies (pins, frog togs, Mickey Ears, sunscreen... You know - everything I don't need for a MN winter - LOL). DH still doesn't know about our trip - but how can he not guess? I am seriously half packed. LOL I just need to throw my clothes back in and I can take off at a moments notice. So, WTG Em for being half packed too! LOL

D~

That's funny!!! :rotfl2:

YAY!!!

:woohoo:

It's YC check-in day!!!

Love the room. We (I) have very few photos of the elusive YC Deluxe Room, so I will be "borrowing" part of your update to include on the Yacht & Beach Club Deluxe/Suite Room Thread. Some of your pictures are already prominently featured on that thread!!!

You can never have too much Kathy & Mark, and I'm sure they felt the same about running into you all day! What a small world!

:rotfl:

And now you are having meets within meets. Love it!

I can totally appreciate your OCD tendencies! As you probably know, I put the "Dee" in OCD!!!

.

Nice room in YC! Does the sitting room have a TV as well? It had to be a wee bit dispointing not to be upgraded again. One can always hope!

I'm with you in the unpacking. I'm sure my family just tolerates it now...they are all live out of the suitcase types at heart. Heck, at home they are live out of the laundry basket types! :lmao: Drives me crazy!

Christine

While not being upgraded is a bit disappointing... It's a very beautiful room and the flowers were a great touch!! I love what you have to say about Em and her suitcase! I I think I just put my suitcase away from our September trip!

This is making me do this: :rotfl2:

I have a confession. I am usually totally OCD about unpacking too. I usually end up hanging things and putting my shoes nicely in the closet and whatnot. But this last trip I ended up throwing my suitcase on our extra bed and I proceeded to live out of it for a week :upsidedow

I have no clue what was wrong with me. But when we got home it ended up living in the closet full of vacation things. Until I dumped it all out so I could put books in my suitcase (don't judge, we're moving and it's easier to roll books than to carry them!).

I could have just said what Em said, I'm already packing for our May Honeymoon! ;)

You're room is beautiful. I mean it's no Admiral Suite but it's still gorgeous. You have a perfect view and those flowers were such a nice touch. So nice and comforting.

Was your deluxe room on the CL floor? I know at the BC they are not and people will complain about having to travel to the lounge. :goodvibes

I live out of my suitcase at the hotel if I am changing rooms and things are okay not being hung up!

I'm with Em. My suitcase is half packed for December!! Although I'm thinking I may need a bit more than light tops and tank tops!! In fact I'm kinda confused on how I should be packing!!

Oh I LOVE the Yacht Club. These pictures make me sad as I just don't know that I'll ever stay there again unless they build DVC there (and if they did Jeff would make me sell something so we could buy there!). I don't know what it is but I swear that is my favorite bathroom on property. At least to date. I love the separate sitting room too, something about having all that extra space is SOOOO relaxing and nice if one wants to sleep and the other doesn't!

I have to unpack too. HAVE to. I do vastly prefer to do it with no one else in the room too. :rotfl2: Faster that way and then I can stash suitcases away and have the illusion of a neat room for at least a few hours.

Great view and I love the fresh flowers!

Gorgeous room!

I am guilty of living out of suitcases too. I still haven't unpacked one of mine from my trip 3 weeks ago. *hanging head in shame* It's way more fun to pack for a trip than to unpack!

Jill in CO

First, thanks for being willing to look for the t-shirt for Mark. Let me know what I owe you, if you get it, and I can mail you a check or give you the money when we see you in about three weeks. :goodvibes

Seriously, we have to STOP meeting like this. People are going to talk. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm glad you were able to meet Marilyn and we got yet another photo together. Hmmm...how come Em wasn't in the photo?

Great photopass picture in France.

What a beautiful room at the Yacht Club. I know it wasn't the Admiral's Suite, but it is very nice anyway. I never had a desire to stay there, but after seeing your pictures...it's not so bad. But with no DVC, I'm afraid that one will remain out of our price range.

Great view you had. :thumbsup2

Beautiful room! I'm not a huge fan of YC/BC, mostly because I live near New England and see that look a lot around here, but that deluxe room is lovely.
Augh, I could never live out of a suitcase on vacation! Only if I stay in a hotel for one night do I not unpack and hang stuff up/fill the drawers. That's what they're there for! Zach's suitcase from Disney was on the floor of our bedroom for a solid month after our trip, thought, so Em has a kindred spirit there!

Haha, that's so funny that you two keep running into each other. If it was planned you'd probably STILL be there trying to find each other. :rotfl:

AND, I always love that you always do your traditional Check-In pictures. :goodvibes

But geez Brenda, how did you ever put up with staying in such a dump? I mean it's ok I guess, but it's no Admiral Suite. :rotfl2:

But seriously, WOW, yet another beautiful room with an AMAZING view. I hope you got some early morning shots. I bet the sunrise is breathtaking.

Yay!! What a surprise again dismeet, that's awesome! Lol.

YC is too gorgeous to be true, like, I love that place. Depending how the saving goes I may have to spoil myself and stay there next Nov!!

Bahaha! I totally do the same thing as Em after vacation!! I live out of a suitcase on my floor for a few weeks while trying to settle back into real life!

You are popular too! I can't wait to hear all about your meet ups in December!

Oh yacht club, I miss you! Rich didn't like walking down the never ending hallways but it was too pretty for me to care. Those beds, the anchors on the furniture, the rope around the mirrors...makes a US Navy granddaughter happy.

I still think you guys are super sweet for getting him a Beatles gift. That section in the UK is so fun.

That France background with the fountain is just one of the loveliest places!

No Admiral Suite, but still a VERY nice room! I love how the headboards look like the steering wheel of a boat.

I take the longest time to unpack from trips. I'm going to use the excuse of "Just getting ready for the next trip!" from now on. SO SOON!

Love your pics form YC, although I think we will be staying BC next trip. They are both beautiful resorts. I love that you and Kat keep running into each other. As for living out of suitcase I normally do. It does take some planning and I'm getting lazy so next trip I think I'm going to unpack. As for home everything get washed so not a problem. Opps except for the stuff I really only use at Disney. Speaking of forgetting to unpack. After last trip I thought I left a cheap necklace behind, it wasn't till a few months later that I needed the suitcase and found the necklace (and a few other things I forgot about) in with my window cling on things.

Geez, that room is gorgeous!:cloud9::love: And the view is magnificent too. Makes me really want to stay at Yacht or Beach club one day.

I really love unpacking at hotels, especially at Disney! Makes me feel like i'm at home :)
