Oh the places We Go, The People We see

I am very sad this trip has ended! I feel like I have been following for 2 years! Since I am pretty sure your PTR started out that much in advance! Definitely a wonderful trip you were able to take. Going on vacation with that many people can be hit or miss and you all definitely managed to hit! It can be so hard to organize with that many people too. My family has been trying for years, but we have half the kids in college and half in high school and half graduated and living all over......ok three halves don't make a whole but now I am nit picking lol. Unfortunately college and high school spring breaks do not align and no one wants to go someplace tropical in August. Hopefully you all can do something like this again before your families end up like mine!

What a great wrap up and a great trip!!!

I look forward to your next adventure ... whenever that will be.

Hope it is sooner rather than later.

I am sad too, but I do have more time now to do other things and not feel guilty!
It is hard to schedule a time for everyone to go. Luckily some were more flexible, but in years to come that might not be the case.

I hope sooner too!

Great TR!

Can't believe it's over! What will I read about now?

Did you say you have a TR about your Williamsburg trip? How did I miss that?

Hey Jen,

I just wanted to say I truly enjoyed following along your journey. Due to work issues we haven't been to Disney since December of 11, and in 12 we went to Hilton Head (a great trip, but not Disney). We are definitely planning to make it back down next summer because we have some use or lose DVC points and we're definitely not going to lose!! :D It was fun to see your pictures of the different holiday activities because as our kids are getting older (oldest is 11 in 6th grade) my wife is not very open to vacationing during some of these other times of the year. I would love for the kids to experience the halloween party again (last time they did it I think Eric was 4 or 5 and not in school yet). So thanks for sharing your trip with us all. Maybe when we finally make our trip I can put together a trip report in return!! :D

Take care and chat with you later,
Mark

It's hard being away from the happy place! I am so ready to get back myself too, but we'll see if that is sooner or later.
The parties are so much fun and really spoiled us. I would love to get back this year yet for the Christmas party, but it's looking less and less like that will happen.

I took a quick peek at Kona….we do have a reservation for her next year at this point, but I may have to cancel it once I get my plans more set.
You better not cancel them. :headache:

One Year ago today, Nov. 1, we left for my sisters house (after Claire got out of school) to start this journey! Today I am close to finishing this trip up. I knew it would take me a long time to write it, but I had no clue it would take me a year to the day.
Hey, I'm still going on mine 1 yr later. You are about to show up in my TR!!!! :rotfl2:

Love all your pictures and thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Well if I get posted tomorrow it will be 1 year from our actual meet!!!!

So what have I been doing with my time since I finished this report? Well I am still editing pictures and writing the Williamsburg trip...which I invite you all to come and read.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3134473

Also Halloween came! And I partied hard at the big school party. (which I have yet to edit any pictures from) The weather was bad that day and the electricity actually went out for quite some time at school, but the kids were good and it just added to the party fun.
The wind was bad and rain was off and on and basically all towns in our area postponed trick or treating till Sunday.

So Sunday came around and we did our traditional thing and went trick or treating with our friends at her MIL's neighborhood. We always have a fun time and she serves a nice little dinner after that fills us up too. She is such a nice lady.

Claire went at Merida and I had Janet make her dress.

And Claire and I have been cleaning (well mostly me but she helps here and there.) My basement needed a good cleaning and I went to work on that and decided to start putting Christmas decorations up down there. I decided to switch things up this year, as I am one who puts the same decorations in the same place every year. I also added garland and lights and we have been having fun doing that, though we are not done, we got quite a bit up and I must say it looks sharp.

Monday I had a Dr's appointment and after I did some shopping. I hit hobby lobby and saw deco mesh on sale. I have noticed this lately at several stores and saw pictures of garland and wreathes. I decided I wanted to make some in the odd colors I use for our main tree (pink and turquoise). Again I wanted to change up things from what I normally do. So I made garland to go over the back door out of deco mesh. (I normally use just green branchy stuff) and for the banister as well. I came home and watched several youtube videos on how to do it and got started and was happy with my results. The next night I made a wreath that I LOVE!!!!! Claire helped and we were hooked. We decided to make them for Christmas gifts for the family. Claire usually does something crafty each year and she liked this project. In 3 days time we made 3 trips to Hobby Lobby and we have made several wreaths and some more garland too. We are addicted to it. We have made 5 for gifts so far and have many more to make, but we'll do it in spurts.

I posted a few pictures on facebook, so some of you may have seen some of them, but I took some more pictures today.

This is the wreath that I love, and this picture does not do it justice.

The garland over the back door and another style wreath I made.

banister ...For those who wonder why Skip's stocking has a D.....it's because his real name is Dean and when I bought the stockings their were no S's left. LOL

One I made today.

I moved it upstairs to the spare bedroom and then took a picture of all the ones we have made so far.

And that's what we've been doing with our spare time!

Really nice wreaths! You're making me feel like a slouch though, getting so much done while I'm sitting on my butt doing nothing! :)

Gosh Jen, way to make me look bad! I haven't even thought about Christmas decorations yet. :sad2: No, seriously. The decorations are absolutely beautiful! We used that mesh when we were decorating for Lacey's wedding. I brought all of the green home with me and it's now used around our entry door at Christmas time.

You and Claire have done an amazing job! I love everything that you've done!

LOL. I will have plenty of sitting on my butt days and will be rushing around later on. Thats why I started now when I have some energy and enthusiasm.

I never noticed this stuff before, but I guess it's been pretty popular for a few years now. I guess I am backwoods. I was amazed at all the youtube videos out there. I wish I was rich so I could buy all the neat things they add to them. I applied ornaments to some things, but it was stuff I had.

Great that you can use the green stuff. It's fun, but it's pokey and I have cut 3 finger tips on the wreath forms and the mesh keeps repoking those cuts.

You've done a great job on those decorations. The blue or aqua wreath is gorgeous. I can't even think about Christmas yet & Thanksgiving will be here before I'm ready. Ack!

soooo. I am about to scream. Life just can't get easy...can it?

A few days ago Skip came in one evening and showed me a big red blotch on his leg. Well he is a man, and a little dramatic at times. I asked what it was and he was sure he had a blood clot. I have no clue what a blood clot symptom would be, but he was sure a red blotch on your leg is a sign. I said it's probably a bug bite and I sprayed it with anti itch cream...which then he tell me it doesn't itch. it also wasn't hot to touch or anything. Honestly I don't even now how he noticed it there.
Long story short, we decided it might be a spider bite. I told him that the brown recluse spider is common in Ohio and can be toxic and we have brown spiders in the house, though I am not sure if they are the recluse. I did say if it didn't get better he should see the Dr. Well I think I scared him.

It has not gotten better, but it was still red and he started asking other people about it. The "carry out" lady told him he better get to the Dr. so he made an appointment. Um...didn't I tell him that too?
I think he is sure he is dying now. :rolleyes1 Anyways, he couldn't get in till today but they called in an antibiotic yesterday and he started taking it. He went in today and they said it is turning into cellulitis. He is to continue taking the antibiotic and if it doesn't improve (it has swelled up a bit now too) then he is to come back Friday and get an ultra sound and if it turns brown or they find anything bad, they will have to cut the skin out.
Needless to say he is not pleasant right now. And he has been extremely busy with farming all day long. he came in a bit ago and I told him he was not looking well and asked how he felt...You know, being concerned. Well I got yelled at about how hard he is working. Good grief. Can't we just have a nice boring life.

Oh man! I have loads of experience with cellulitis (always n he legs- what's up with that) 2 times at Disney. Ive never heard. Them cutting out the skin before. I had it bad too! iV antibiotics for a week. high fevers and headaches. Mine turned black/brown but it was more like a scab and slowly shafed off.

Hope he felt better quickly.

Luckily I don't have to do much for Thanksgiving!

But the cruise was too eensive and would have made the trip too long, no it I arrive on th 30th an leave just after the 1st Xmas party. Reding your TR has really convinced me to o it!
