......A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes......

My name is Laurie and I am a Disney Fan. Some of you know me already from my many trip reports I've done on here but for those of you that don't.....here's a quick summary of who I am.

I'm 51, wife for almost 30 yrs & mother to 7....yup I said 7 amazing kids! I gave birth to 3 sons and then was blessed with 4 kiddos we had as foster kids who we adopted. So my kids are son 28, son 26, son 24, son 12, daughter 8, twin daughters 6. All 4 kids that we adopted come with their own set of issues. The twins are both mentally delayed and autistic. My whole world revolves around my family!

I love to sing and I love Disney~~my car plays only Disney music, we watch Disney movies & have themed dinners & games. We have a Disney kitchen & master bedroom as well as our main bathroom. Most of my wardrobe (shirts) is Disney. I love talking Disney with anyone that will listen.

So as a Disney fan I've had a few things on my bucket list like~~

Go to WDW....which I got to do earlier in October!! My first trip and it was a lot of fun!!
See Disneyland at Christmas time......got to do that over the last 2 years.
See Walt's Apartment.....still waiting!
Stay in the Dream Suite....still waiting!
Stay in one of the DLH themed penthouses.....still waiting!
Eat at Club 33..........which brings us to this report!!

I'm getting the opportunity to dine at Club 33 in December!!! This is something I never thought would happen. A friend of mine was offered, by a member, a chance to enjoy a meal at the private restaurant. Well she was also able to invite a few friends & I was on the receiving end of that gracious offer as well as a few other Dis'ers!!! I am more than excited about this!!

So my 26 yr old son will be accompanying me to a lunch on December 9th with 3 lovely ladies and I keep having to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming!!

So I was explaining what Club 33 was to a friend of mine and she got a hold of me the next day to tell me that she booked us a condo with her points so we wouldn't have to worry about coming up with money for a motel/hotel. I couldn't believe she would do that.....what a generous gift!! So we have a place to stay.....now to secure our flights, tickets & hopefully book the Holiday Time Tour.

So I hope you'll follow along!! Just in case you haven't followed some of my other reports......you will find mine very heavy with pictures! We just got back from a 3 day trip to WDW and we took almost 3800 pictures. So you won't be disappointed!!

This is my son Tyler (that will be joining me) and I:

I'm in! Club 33 is nothing short of wonderful. The nostalgia and spirit are heartwarming. We've been for dinner and lunch; both were fantastic magical meals. pixiedust:

I'm excited to get in there before they change stuff after the first of the year!! :hyper: I enjoy the history, originals and always have a hard time when they change stuff at the park & hotels. Guess I'm a sucker for the retro.....lol

Glad you'll be following along!!

As I mentioned in the first post.....a friend of ours have put us up in a WorldMark condo for the 2 nights we plan on being in Anaheim. So we will be staying at Dolphin's Cove Resort.

This condo is in the Harbor Blvd & Orangewood Ave area. I believe this is across from the Convention Center (at least when I looked on a map it kinda looked that way). Supposedly it's close enough to walk.....but I think it would be a lengthy walk after a full day at the parks. I'm going to call to see if they offer a shuttle or on the ART line....so we have that as an option.

Tomorrow I should be buying airline tickets.....at least that's the plan!! :yay:

Flights are booked!!

We leave at 7am from Portland Oregon, change planes in Sacramento & then land at the John Wayne/Orange County Airport at 10:50am on Monday, December 9th. I sure hope leaving 3 hours between landing & our 2pm lunch at Club 33 is enough time. That was the earliest I could get the day of thru SW. Unfortunately, all the other options were just too much money & I'd have to pay for checked bags.

We'll leave on Wednesday at 4pm, making a stop in the bright lights of Vegas (no plane change) and then arrive back in Portland at 8pm.

So I have flights & our resort taken care of.....next to get our Park Hoppers (thinking a 3 day), reserve & pay for the Holiday Tour for Tuesday the 10th & maybe reserve a breakfast for Wednesday morning. The biggest thing I need to figure out is money to do that & for spending & meals! :rolleyes1

I wonder who that wonderful, benevolent, thoughtful soul was, who extended the Club 33 offer?:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm glad for you that you nabbed a free place to stay, and presumably a nice, comfortable condo too! I love the Mickey mirror above the sofa!

Is seeing WDW at Christmas time still on your bucket list too? You've now been to WDW, but not at that time.

Too bad you're not arriving just a little bit sooner. I think I will be briefly meeting up with Kathy (ksromack) -- who would love to meet you -- and hopefully another DIS'er, either on Sunday, 12/8 or early, early, early Monday, 12/9, before she heads home. Kathy won one of the $25 Disney gift cards I am giving away in the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread! (The second winner will be determined this coming Monday. We're in our final Theme Week now, so the photo submissions are coming in before the contest ends!)

If you're up for a Goofy's breakfast on Wednesday morning or a dinner on Tuesday night, let me know!

 Sherry!!! I don't know who that incredibly generous, awesome person could be.......lol :rolleyes1 :worship: :confused3  :woohoo:

Goofy's Kitchen Wednesday morning would be GREAT!!! We don't have to head to the airport until 1:30ish........ We're planning on doing the Holiday Tour on Tuesday afternoon, so we'd be watching the parade during the dinner time. :santa:

So I'm assuming this means you're going for sure?????!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be there with bells on. Well maybe not actual bells, but imaginary Christmas bells!:rotfl2: This is, once again, thanks to some Christmas magic (as was my trip last year). I don't foresee visiting Club 33 a lot -- maybe no more than this one time -- but I would like to see it as it is now, before it is redone or remodeled, or whatever is happening to it. Plus, how can I miss all of that Christmasy goodness that DLR has to offer? I need to see carolers and Santa, I need to eat a gingerbread cookie, and I need to see what this Jingle Cruise is all about.

YAY!!!!!! Hey, make sure you catch the Billy Hill & the Hillbillies show.....they are being retired 1-6-14.......so sad hearing this news!

YAY!!!!!! Hey, make sure you catch the Billy Hill & the Hillbillies show.....they are being retired 1-6-14.......so sad hearing this news!

They are? Why? They're not relocating to another spot in DLR? Are you sure? That's going to take away a big chunk of the entertainment at both the Halloween Carnival and the Jingle Jangle Jamboree (I'm not even counting their other performances during the year). Billy Hill and the Haunted Hillbillies, as well as Billy Hill and the Holiday Hillbillies, are big hits!

This makes me wonder what is going to happen with the stage at the Carnival/Jamboree in 2014. I would like to think that it means the Candlelight Ceremony will be headed there next year. A CM with whom I spoke a couple of weeks ago said she thought that the whole Ranch area and stage would be perfect for the CP, as a lot of things are already set up there and in place so they could stage it with minimal effort.

But why do I have a terrible feeling it means that some sort of silly party is headed our way, with the Jamboree used as one of the main party locations?
