BIG change to FP+ today

well, if they successfully convince people that Maelstrom is on par with Soarin' or Test Track that will be a pretty darn good magic trick ;)

They have started that process. Stats will soon show that Maelstrom is a popular FP+ selection. After Soarin' and TT run out, guests will have to select it to continue making selections in the lower tier.

Actually I'm staying at a deluxe villa so perhaps I can have both, plus someone to feed them to me like I am a Queen. Now THAT would be some Disney magic.

Haha! Are you staying at the concierge level?? That's the only way to get all of that! Us regular villa people don't even get our rooms cleaned everyday (and that is just being said jokingly, as I actually prefer it that way :))

I agree with you; I believe that there are signs that they are struggling to manage the legacy software and hardware, and that they are counting on eliminating it rather than fixing it. I think that any hints that it will remain are really talking about the new system performing the same function from personal devices and the kiosks rather than the paper machines.

Right...technically same-day FP will still be around. But the paper is going sooner rather than later I think.

Will I be stoned if I admit that I wish they would offer a FP option that you can pay extra for like they do at Universal? :scared:

I'm starting to wonder if they could even offer that if they wanted to at this point. The capacity just doesn't seem to be there, at least for some of the rides.

I think that the option that will help people make the most of the new system will be staying onsite. Which is what they want anyway.

I'm staying on cash, not points so I get my room cleaned every day, I'm THAT special. Although my husband would prefer they stay out of our room like you.

Does that mean I still get my skittles and M&M's?

so maybe this entire FP+ system is the brain child of the Norwegian government?!?!?!?!

hmmm, maybe the Audubon Society can get the Tiki Room set as a Tier 1 FP+ attraction when this rolls out to the Magic Kingdom :thumbsup2

Yes, housekeeping will bring them to you :rotfl:!

OK, first of all, if you post in pink, most of us are skipping your posts.

But IMHO, I don't know how many people are missing the point here. Most of you. IT'S A TEST. We have no idea what Disney will do permanently. Chill out.

Our first day is 11/13 and we are going to Epcot too, see you there. I'll have my LGMH on my bag and I'll be the short round one skipping through the crowds :)

I love it! Have you had any problems booking FP+ that day? (besides the tiered thing?)

I'll be in Epcot Nov. 13th, and I'm just glad I've long been done with my FP+ selections.....

I somehow stumbled on the FP+ window a few hours after it opened for November and I've had this problem since then. I just picked the times Disney would let me to be done with it. It seems I'm the only one that had these problems:scared:

Yes...but we still need to give feedback. Otherwise the "test" sticks. :)

Actually I think you are missing the point, many of us don't care what Disney will do permanently, we are only concerned about what they are doing NOW because we are going soon, not next year. Although I do agree with you on the pink.

I made my FP+ for that day on the day the window opened and because it is arrival day and a half day I don't have a lot to work around so I haven't tweaked them. I don't think I had any problems, but that was weeks ago. I was looking to tweak my friend's choices which is how I found out about the new rules.

Right now my FP+ times say this: Error:We're sorry. There was an issue locating your FastPass+ arrival window times.
Please try again later or call (407) 939-4357 for assistance.

Glorious.

All on site resorts are now online. Swan and dolphin are up next. Not a test in my book, but a rollout. Semantics.

And I don't like testing on my vacation that I shell out lots of money for. So while we don't know what the permanent result will be, I don't honestly care. I only care what it will look like when I visit. Which right now, is not looking so pretty.

That was the biggest shock in the tier news. We actually wouldn't be able to book a Maelstrom FP. :rotfl2:

I'm guessing a lot of people were booking it as their third FP+ because Mission Space is not that popular, especially among families with little ones, and they had to have three. It would be our third because my kids are strangely fond of it and we always end up there at the busiest time of day.

There are just not enough popular rides in these two parks...

Testing in October with the way things turned out with limited legacy FP available (due of course to the testing) was the only way to make our park days at Epcot and DHS remotely meet our attraction expectations. I felt horrible for non-testers having no FP available 15 minutes after the park opened or ride windows into the evening at that time of the AM. While we were thankful to have FP+, we still rode the headliners at DHS/EP less overall than we had on Spring Break trips using Legacy FP.

Hopefully the tiered options DO open up legacy FP so touring is easier for all, but again it does feel like they are continually seeking to fix something that they did not need to break in the first place as so many have pointed out!

I picture Sorcerer Mickey in Fantasia with the mops and buckets of water growing more and more out of control.... had he just not put on that hat:smickey:
