Beginning today and continuing (at the moment) through the end of December, Disney is testing a tiered FASTPASS+ system at Epcot. Guests can only choose one attraction from the list of headliners:
Character Spot
IllumiNations
Maelstrom
Soarin
Test Track

And two attractions from the rest:
Captain EO
Journey into Imagination
Living with the Land
Mission: SPACE
Seas with Nemo and Friends
Spaceship Earth
Turtle Talk with Crush

This is true. I checked my FP+ options today for my trip in November. You can only choose one from the "top tier" rides and two from the rest.

Interesting.... thanks for confirming

I will add that it was Epcot only.

How does Disney expect this to go over well with people? One high level attraction per day for FP? I just can't see how this will reduce wait times causing people to spend more time in gift shops. My iPhone isn't playing nicely with that link so I can't read the whole thing. Was there any other info worth noting that explains this?

I have already set up our FP+ for our November trip. So far, they seem unchanged, but I wonder if I should be concerned about this? Has anyone with Nov FP+ for both Soarin and TT been affected?

I was able to schedule my fastpass plus selections about 3 weeks ago for our trip starting dec 12. I was able to choose test track, soarin, and mission space......so it let us do 2 headliners. The times were all early though (as in before 3pm), in fact we weren't able to find any evening times at all in any park :( maybe the 1 headliner thing has to do with the dates you are going? Maybe it's just an incredibly busy time? I hope they won't be changing to only one headliner per day at Epcot:(

On his FB page Kenny the Pirate is telling those with multiple top tier selections to take a screen shot of their FP+ selections and don't change them.

I think they are testing this change out to cut down on double dipping at the headliners. I know we did that last week and I suspect A LOT of people were doing the same.

Wow! I booked ours last week for Nov. 21st at Epcot and chose three headliners (Soarin, Test Track and Character Spot). Going to print out a copy of the reservations and watch them to make sure they don't suddenly change.

Mine didn't change either. I was trying to see if I could add Illuminations to one of the other days and noticed it.

Seriously though what part of this is beneficial for ANYONE? Disney can try to get people spending money all thy want but limiting FP to one top level ride per day is going to cause serious frustration.

Again I may be missing something though......

Not going to lie that makes them both better and worse. At least crowd control would be better without all that influx from multi-headline fastpass users

Thanks Twin Dad for the tip! We took pics of our fastpass plus reservations and are printing out a copy. Thanks for the warning.

I'm not really seeing this going over well with a lot of people either. My husband is NOT a planner, and he was already not liking having to choose what park we go to each day of our trip months in advance, but add to that not being able to get as many fast passes each day......he is not a happy camper. Won't disney be losing money on the park hopper option by limiting the fp+ to one park a day? Unless people just get the hopper option for dining, or they're willing to just wait in lines. For our family I think we'll at least be dropping the hopper option now when we go every year.

I was wondering the same thing. I double checked mine and they are still the same. Maybe if you modify them it kicks them out? I'm afraid to try anything!

My DH left MK at noon in frustration after seeing the long lines for BTMR and SM being down all morning. He did not stop to buy anything on his way out he just wanted out. In fact we spent less all trip. The only souveniour we bought was a keychain for the dog sitter. Being frustrated does not make me want to stand in a line to buy soemthing.

Well, considering there have been so many reports/complaints about FPs running out by 9.30-10am for popular rides, maybe this is an attempt to stop people with FP+ booking all the most popular rides and make more fastpasses available for those not able to access FP+?

We have 2 headliner attractions fp for multiple days in late December including 12.31.2013 at EPCOT. They have not been changed by Disney, yet..but I did screenshots and saved the pics for reference.

I probably should do a screen shot of our FP+ since I have 3 tier 1 headliners already scheduled for our trip next month.

I have done a screen shot of my FPP and printed them out as well. Not sure if it's going to help but I'm willing to give it a shot.

FP+ is just a mess. I don't get the need to plan every second of a vacation, its suppose to be fun and relaxing.

I think in the end many people will book FP+'s then not use them do to plans changing and forgeting and so on.

If that starts to be a big problem maybe they will start charging a credit card if you don't show up! :rolleyes1 They started doing it for dining so why not for ride reservations??

Because you're not paying anything for rides ... you don't show, it's better for Disney, shorter lines, happier guests- they aren't losing money like they might be for no-show dinner reservations.
