A Few of My Favorite Things, A Race & Scrapbook Pages, Too! FINAL THOUGHTS

#27 Expedition Everest
No Fast Pass Needed, Slowing down to Enjoy a Line?

What a crazy adventure Friday morning was with Disney transportation which destroyed any touring plan that I had in AK (which will be discussed in my post about Tusker House). After our safari and hike into the wilds of Africa, we jumped continents into Asia…

where we were able to catch the standby line to EE at only 20 minutes, which made me really excited…as the line was short enough that we would not have to wait long to ride but long enough we would get to enjoy some of the theming. I know that seems pretty silly to get excited about standing in line, but EE has so many great things to read and look at that you miss when using a FP.

The line still moved relatively fast through all of the displays, but I got a chance to look at things without feeling like I was holding up people and get a few texts off to a friend…since she wanted a moment by moment trip report. We both got a few giggles out of this one.

It was not long before we were boarding our train for our expedition. Cammy had never been on EE so she was excited and EE is my favorite mountain in the world…lets just say neither of us were disappointed and after it was over we picked up a couple of FP for a ride in an hour or so. We decided to use up our wait time for next ride on EE by taking another hike, this time through

Sadly there were no dragons to be seen…I was not too disappointed if you have seen 1 dragon you have seem them all…

I don’t know why I find these guys so interesting…I could stay there for hours just watching them in amazement. I would love to see one fly!
,

Mr. Tiger was being really lazy…he just ignored us the entire time we were there!

The entire time we were in the bird area I felt like I was ducking. They were so active and I was afraid of something landing on me…but we found this little guy hidden away and thought he was so cool looking.

Then it was time for another expedition. Afterwards, I found a t-shirt for my ds#1 (Boo), since EE is his favorite mountain, too and we had to leave AK for our next adventure…

#26 Mickey Bar: Ice Cream for Breakfast, a Trip Tradition

Our last morning found me still without a Mickey Bar. I know shocking. After getting to bed around 5 am, I was still up pretty early; actually I don’t think I slept at all. Once I stopped my whole body went into rebellion mode telling me it did not like the 10 miles and the Villain party. Really if I could have just cut off my feet at my ankles I would have been okay. My feet were throbbing like I have never felt before…deep sharp throbs. Tossing and turning for 3 hours I finally gave up and begin trying to be quiet rummaging in my suitcase trying to find my Biofreeze, with no success on finding it or being quiet. Waking Cammy up we decided to get back and savor what few hours we have left in WDW. While packing we discussed where to go…and ended up with Epcot to finish off our feasting around the world and the snack credits/quick service credits we had left. We called valet service to pick up our bags and take us to the Customs House...

shortly before 10 where we checked in for our afternoon ride on the saddest ride in all of WDW, ME to MCO. I dropped off my Fairy Godmailer postcards...

and we were off to Epcot with the knee walker along for a ride. Our first stop was to pick up a fast pass for TT and drop off the knee walker in stroller parking for the morning. We had a little time to kill before the food booths opened, so we decided it was ice cream for breakfast (a tradition of mine on every trip) and what better breakfast could you have than Mickey shaped ice cream coated in chocolate?

Everything tastes better if it is Mickey shaped! After our little treat to hold us over for another hour till we could feast again, we decided to visit 2 attractions that I had not experienced before (and probably won’t ever again)…First Figment.

Being teachers you would hope that we could come up with the storyline of the attraction, but neither could and we left baffled. Still with time to waste we checked out Captain EO.

I had forgotten from my teens how bad this was, and not BAD in Michael Jackson’s terms but bad as awful (although the music at the end was good). Cammy decided to make matters worse and remind me that the year EO came out was the year she was born and the year I graduated from high school. But that’s okay, she is far more mature and responsible then most 20 somethings. Only one way to drown my sorrows over that comment…is the Wine part of Food & Wine open yet?

Man I could go for a Mickey bar right now!

I remember seeing Captain EO for the first time with my cousin, one of the trips we took last year. And we just busted out watching it and went it was over we couldn't figure out why Disney would think playing that would be a good use of that space. They have enough empty pavillions there that they need to do something with it!

Can't wait for the photos of the rest of you trip!

Love the scrapbook pages. Wow, you slowed down for a queue. ;) Nothing wrong with icecream for breakfast. Yum.

Journey into Imagination is one of JJ's favorites. It's actually helped him remember the 5 senses. They continue to ask him at OT what they are, and he has to think of each part of the "Figment" ride to answer his therapist. Captain EO, I can take or leave.

How about a few life updates...(and a mommie brag)?!?!

Last weekend my dd, Ab, had her state cross country meet at Baylor University. I am happy to report that she and her team did an incredible job. She not only cut her best time by about 40 seconds, but she placed 3rd in state for her size school in a field of about 70 runners. And both her school's boys team and girl's team won 1st place team...for the second year in a row.

I am so proud of Ab. She amazes me in everything that she does! I can't wait till we can run together at WDW in 2015 for the PHM.

Then their is my youngest son, Goo...sharing his Halloween costume this year!

Of course it was Disney inspired! He took 1st place in the costume contest at his school's carnival. LOL, it was probably one of my easiest costumes ever!

Me too...you will get one before me!

Sadly the one that I really wanted to share was lost with PhotoPass...grrrrrrr

I know pretty amazing that I can slow down. My next trip I am really going to amaze you! I do wish that I could spend a lot more time in the EE line...there is just too much to read and look at.

Ice Cream for breakfast is the best...only at WDW!

YAY...great learning place for JJ. I am not sure what I was expecting, but what I got really wasn't what I expected.

Hi Tammie! :wave2::wave2: Thanks for coming by my PTR to say hi. I will be back to read more, but CONGRATULATIONS to your DD! And I LOVE the Halloween Costume, so original. :thumbsup2

#25 Rock n Roll Roller Coaster:

I am not going to do an update on #25 by itself, instead I will include the details when I do Villain Party Update!

Loved the report and your scrap book pages are so cute! Thanks for sharing

Thank you for following along!

Thank you...I have been trying to catch up on yours! I am loving the great connection you had to make it 7!

Congrats to Ab! Goo's costume is great too! Makes me want to tell him to drop and give me twenty. Think he would? I hope your kids had a great Halloween.

RNRC, ugh, that take off scares me everytime and once I get through it my brain starts processing the fact I went upside down. I still think Space Mountain is scarier because its darker and you can't see what so ever where you are going.

He might...just to be silly! It was a good Halloween. Jeff and I took Goo trick or treating, Ab went to a party, and Boo just wanted to stay home...lol teenagers!

I love RnRC as you know...I wish we could have ridden it more! I did not even ride Space Mountain this time around...I hate how jerky it is...same way with BTMRR not my favorite either. Wow how freeing to know that I don't have to do every ride anymore!

24. Narcoossees: All Dolled Up, Celebrating Friendship
Formally Boma/Animal Kingdom Lodge

Initially, I had plans for our before race night dinner to be at Boma, but after talking to Cammy some before I trip I learned that she loved fireworks just as much as I did and she had been watching YouTube Wishes videos of Wishes. So I began thinking of places where we could catch another showing of Wishes. I found several Ohana ADRs, but I knew there was no way that I could not eat there without 2 friends whose lives got in the way for this trip & it was just too sad to think of all the memories that we had planned for this meal ALL of us TOGETHER. The meal at Ohana REALLY MEANT FRIENDSHIP TO ME (something others can write off so fast). Not to worry though because the next time I eat at Ohana it will be with a table full of friends including the 2 I was really missing on this trip. I thought that it would be fun for Cammy and I to dress up and really have a special meal together and the best place for dressing up is at the Grand Floridian&and the best night before race dinner along with the best table viewing of Wishes has to be at Narcoossees. So Friday night, got all dolled up and caught a bus to MK where I am sure we looked really out of place among the MNSSHP costumes as we walked to the landing dock to wait for a boat to take us to the Grand Floridian. When we arrived at the GF the sun was quickly setting and you really felt the specialness of the evening I had planned as the twinkling lights came on.

We had a little time before our reservation, so went into the lobby to look around. I have to say I really missed the giant Gingerbread house and the huge Christmas tree&

but we still found beautiful things to look at before we headed back towards the dock for our dinner reservations.

It did not take long before we were seated with a magical view and a glass of wine (plus some really good bread).

For dinner I ordered the ribeye and lobster, while Cammy ordered the Filet Minon and lobster.

It was one of the best steaks I have ever had, and that is saying a lot because I LOVE steak and this ribeye was cooked to perfection. Charles (our server) was a little taken back when I ordered and asked when I asked that the sauce they use on the steak be removed. I told him that a good steak only needs a little seasoning, no sauce&and this was a GREAT steak. He did insist on bringing me some of the verde sauce on the side, which I tasted and was glad that it was not on my steak. The lobster also was equally as amazing&fresh, moist and tender (so hard to find outside of New England). I have to say this was the BEST kind of fuel for that 10 mile run tomorrow night (see I listened to ALL the lectures about food, running, and WDW....I WAS GOOD), For dessert we had the most amazing almond crusted cheesecake (which I have found the recipe for :))

and baked chocolate mousse (so warm and chocolaty).

We finished dessert right about the time the water pageant was passing in front of the GF.

Charles insisted that we stay seated for a great view from the table but we decided to head outside into the beautiful evening for the most magical ending to a special meal with a true friend&

Even a hidden Mickey among the fireworks!

Wishes do come true, a great meal, in the most incredible place on earth with someone who is a true friend...now if my next wish of finishing the ToT will come true!

I'm so proud of Abby. Please tell her for me.

I will...she and her team did a great job! Now she is trying out swimming...lol plus we are in the midst of winter show dance practice for their dance group and trying to finish up a girl scout gold award (like eagle) project

Love Goo's costume!! Could he walk in it?

Yes...the base was just a piece of cardboard...and the pants/shirt were only a little stiff with the spray paint!

Nice scrapbook page.

Dinner looks very inviting.

It was one of those special meals...

No Update about #25 Tower of Terror...I will include that in the Villain Party and Race Report!

I really like how this page turned out! So far it has to be a favorite of mine! And I think I gave you a BIG teaser about the end of the race! :rolleyes1
